Are you guys doing bicep push-ups in your workouts? Why / Why Not?
@winstonsearchill3457
@winstonsearchill3457 Месяц назад
I wasn't sure why this was considered a biceps exercise since you don't flex your biceps. But when leaning forward with the biceps as a stabilizer it makes sense. I'll consider doing more forward leaning pushups again in exchange of regular pushups.

It's one of my favourite variations, but I'm more interested in it as a progression towards planche

I don’t use them because they make my wrists uncomfortable. I can’t fully rotate my palm to 180 degrees as shown in perfect form. I can only do it with some discomfort when my palms are rotated 90 degrees .

Maybe this exercise should be called the Bicep Tendons Push Up, because it foremost trains the bicep tendons, in the elbow as well as along the shoulder, alongside the muscles you train with pushups. This movement helped me with recovering from bicep tendinopathy of the long head of the bicep (running over the shoulder).

rubber band hand expanders them iron mind rubber bands to work the opposite of grip muscles to loosen things up in that region, stretching the wrists regularly so the tendons hopefully adapt over next couple years, yoga or something (which also meant to help deal with pain, not get rid just tolerate it). and just movement high rep flow type movement not high resistance. even if play guitar bmx mountain bike or use tools alot or lift regularly at work its probably good. look into yoga even if its a book loads free info online tons of branches and even has a spiritual aspect, can help with dissociation and pain tolerance. not saying ignore injuries though... also maybe look into gymnasts flexibility mobility and conditioning routines... yes i know gymnastics bit of meat grinder and lots get injured seriously in that sport pretty beat up in old age but thats mainly cause the skills they do..., and technique required with landings which arent ideal... but their soft tissue work tendon conditioning must be pretty good. imagine olympic weightlifters also focus lots on mobility tendon conditioning but maybe not so much around the wrists... good luck.

I do these with rings by starting in regular position then supinating the grip at the top of the push-up. I then "click" the rings together to get a little chest squeeze, as well. Using them as an negative movement with rings is great too.

easily the best pushup i've done and i've done basically every type. i just find this from a STARTING POINT HORIZONTAL ON THE GROUND--this way if you cannot lift yourself with fully SUPPINATED WRISTS you will know before any injury and can modify positioning--to produce such intense FULL BODY tension and lasting pump in the inner and upper bicep and the brachialis that nothing else compares as far as a pushup. I do think it is IMPORTANT TO BEGIN the exercise on the ground instead of standard starting pushup position with body suspended. This exercise can cause injury, not from the motion itself, by nature, but because someone who may not yet have the tendon flexibility and strength will try and the muscles may be strong enough, but the tendons will not be ready and you WILL be injured if you force it. It's the same with a one-armed pullup or pushup, but this is a safer exercise, and you are far less likely to pull a nerve in your neck or something wild lol

If you apply biomechanics this exercise is primarily front delts. Biceps have next to zero activation as resistance is not perpendicular to gravity

Steroids may have had an effect on those bicep injuries. Those strong men may or may not have been on gear and if they were, their muscles and strength may have increased faster than the rest of their tendons and ligaments such that they (and maybe others like them ) can become more prone to injury. So maybe being natty and making slow purposeful consistent gains and being as previously explained, is the road to alleviating our weaknesses.

It is a shame that your channel is dying, your videos are always better than others, no trash and straight to the point with a lot of good information. Thanks to you I no longer have pain on my wrists and shoulders. I think most people can't understand your methodical way of training ALL of the body parts.

Hi i have two questions; 1) how often its good to go until failure? (To know where failure is) 1 time per months? 1 time every two weeks? 2) if i can do 6 reps in an excercise in a row (let say pull-ups) but when i achive the number 6 and i rest like 2-5 seconds i do 1 rep more.. that it mean that my max rep its 7? Thank you! :)
