I can't tell you how happy it makes me that I get to watch these videos.... Iv'e been lucky enough to have had some exposure to Shitoryu, but here lately my career takes up most of my time... So I don't get a lot of time to continue my training... These videos really keep me excited about Karate, and I genuinely appreciate this channel. Thank you for sharing, and I can only pray to God that maybe one day I'll have the privilege to travel to Japan to continue my training... Best Wishes :)

Wow! I think we dont see all these in modern turnaments now, this old style is so great, i love it. Why they dont keep their hand up to protect their head bytheway?

In karate you protect head primarily by right distancing using your legs and good timing in counterstrike.

It's Dōjō kun - a Japanese martial arts term literally meaning (training hall) rules. They are generally posted at the entrance to a dōjō or at the "front" of the dojo (shomen) and outline behaviour expected and disallowed. In some styles of martial arts they are recited at the end of a class. Generally credited to Gichin Funakoshi (but rumoured to have been created by Kanga Sakukawa, an 18th-century Okinawan karate proponent) the Shotokan Karate dojo kun serves as a set of five guiding principles, recited at the end of each training session in most styles, intended to frame the practice within an ethical context.
