So many people don’t understand how much of an expert this guy is. The reason he is able to do this isn’t luck. It is knowledge, experience and most of, respect for the animals ability. Chris never loses sight of the fact that they could snap and attack him. He remains calm, which is important
That female looks like she's just waiting for an opportunity to take you out. Alternately Aries appears to be content to spend time just hanging with you munching on treats & doing whatever you might ask him to do to get more treats.
Most reptiles are pretty effieicent. So the one that knows it can get food without work from something is probably happier taking the easier option. Crodiles are already hunters of opportunity most of the time
Technically, she is. They're all about opportunism in regards to hunting. He just so happens to be subtly pushing back and feeding her to keep her at bay.
I think she's hungry as well, but both crocodiles cant get the attention they need and deserve in a situation like this safely. So she just has to wait for the big boy...
I’ve worked with crocodiles and alligators my whole life and I can say with certainty this gentleman knows exactly what he’s doing there is no luck involved at all
Honestly you deserve many more likes and subscribers than you have. People like you help the world and make the world a better place. Also I’m learning a lot even if I'm probably never going to use it, but who knows I might.
Knowledge is power, the more you know about a creature like this, the more fascinated and less fearful you become, and at the end of the day that's a positive because awareness and education should be at the forefront of every species on our planet, people are terribly fearful of snakes, when in reality most snakes don't want anything to do with you, Gators are much the same 😍 I love this channel, informative, educational, but still not boring lol 😂
I agree. I didn't notice how few 👍he had until you mentioned. That's crazy!! He and his wife are changing the world one animal at a time!! This video is off the chain amazing!! I 💘 LOVE EVERY TIME Aries ♈ opens his mouth back up ready for the next snack!!
Everyone here needs to spread the news. It's the best way for Chris to get the recognition he deserves and to bring attention to his work and where they do their job.
When you were telling Aries to open up the first time and he slowly opened, it almost felt strange. Like, I didn't actually expect him to do it or maybe wasn't expecting him to do it the way he did. It was very fascinating.
The fact that Chris had to compromise with how much he wanted the male to back off says a lot about how much control he in fact has over these animals.
I think it's more about weighing how much he wants to irritate them before training them to see him in a friendly manner. Like he COULD move them more but then would the training be as successful?
This is probably one of my top five videos to watch. I am in shock. That you're in there within inches of these two apex predators and neither one of them is trying to kill you. I love the way Aries opens his mouth for you to put the food in.. you and your wife are amazing people!
Absolutely incredible!! This gives me hope that there is a possibility of calming some of the niles down here in South Africa🙈 learning a lot from you keep it up!!
I'm beginning to understand just HOW important the "big stick" is to working with crocodilians, and why everyone I've seen do it well uses a staff of AT LEAST six feet.
Between Instagram and RU-vid, Chris and Gabby have me watching gator and crocodile videos every damn day. I love these animals and have learned so much.
Yo guys. I found this channel by coincidence and what you're showing here is pretty unique. Watching every video from start to finish. I really like the calmness and awareness of the woman in this video too, filming. I guess youre the same Ive seen in some of the other videos. Nice work. Stay safe guys
Haha same, found this channel by pure coincidence and now I cant stop binging all of their videos. I’ve never been interested in crocs or gators but now I’m hooked!
It's incredible to see that Aries is so chill. He's a hybrid of a Cuban and a Nile Crocodile if memory serves me, two of the most aggressive species and he's perfectly willing to sit quietly through his training. His girlfriend would kill you first chance she got, but I feel like you'll make headway with her too. Incredible work.
@@lisapiccirilli4908Obviously they are used to him. He can kneel next to them because they won’t bite him like that. They are not bloodthirsty animals just waiting to kill him lol. But they do have an instinct/urge/impulse to kill, to hunt. That’s why he is careful with them.
Chris Gillette thank you so much for responding to me it was an honor I've always been fascinated by Gators I have been chased by one ihad a school teacher that got pulled under by one and lived but it's amazing what you do bro and your lady please always be safe salute to you
But wouldn't you know I think I would have rather got attacked by a gator can't get hit by a car and break my tibia and be fortunate to get squamous and carcinoma skin cancer that's in my blood now wow the luck of the Irish
Hey Chris, Thank-you bro, really! Thank-you! years ago while in the Service, I was training in Australia's Northern Territory with a few Aussie SAS gents, while there I had and encounter with a Salt Water Croc, the experience terrified me in such a way I wouldn't go anywhere near any areas where crocs or gators lived. your post have help me understand there instictive behavior and intelligence...I'd like to believe the fear I developed from my brief experience is being replaced by understanding, respect & compassion for these misunderstood apex predators....Again Mahalo's bra!
All I can say is this guy is BRAVE toying with his life with these unpredictable creatures- maybe he is really intrigued by these animals or it’s the thrill of it too. But he gives us some wonderful videos and I thank him for that. ❤
Absolutely incredible!!! This gives me hope that there is a way of calming some of the niles I work with here in South Africa🙈 there’s a lot I can learn from you, keep it up!
I love Aries so much. He's just inches away from just jumping at Chris but he doesn't do it. Still he can't help his animal instinct and closes his mouth if Chris touches his tooth. Probably feeling very conflicted between nibbling a finger Chris keeps touching him with but he knows that if he's good he gets chicken.
The two of them just standing right at the door to say hello to you was both really funny and slightly terrifying. This is the first video I've seen of you with crocodiles (I found y'all through miss Tick) and they seem surprisingly sweet (or Ares does)... I have no idea if I'll ever see a croc anywhere but a zoo cause I'm from Canada but it's really cool to see you interact with them!
My respects to you for what you do. You definitely have the talent to deal with these animals. I love watching how you handle them. You definitely know what you're doing. Keep up the good work!
I remember watching the tonight show with Jay Leno and his guest was the late great steve irwin. He brought a adult alligator and was showing how it reacted. Leno asked irwin what the difference is between a gator and a croc and irwin said if this was a croc I was be in a bloody mess and you would be missing some limbs. Ah crikey
Absolutely amazing. I love the way you call the big boys Sir. From south Africa and I've never seen our croc handlers be so respectful and almost tender towards reptiles in our parks.
They don’t understand English you could call them anything in that tone of voice and it would have the same affect so being respectful in talking sense isn’t necessary
incredible work! on my wife and I's first date we saw the 16 footer at 9 mile pond, absolutely beautiful, one of the most magnificent sights of my life! much love!
I like this channel because this man is not in denial about the facts of alligators. He's teaching and is aware of the consequences. Not like other people act as if these creatures will never hurt them. 😂😢😢❤❤❤❤
🤣😆😅 The way Aries just sits tĥere with his mouth wide open just cracks me up!! Chris's your voice is so calm and soothing. The way you say "Aries...Good boy" is almost hypnotizing... 🤫😴😕
I just said the same thing. He gives tours at his place. I think his guests would LOVE to see this more than just throwing food at them and run around their pond.
Is the female naturally more aggressive then the male or just not as well trained as the male yet? Since you’re more cautions with her and a bit more worried she’s plotting to eat you? 😅
Last video I watched he explained that due to the lack of space she rushes him as soon as he enters the enclosure, so he hasn't had the space to work with her one on one, she's not territorial of herself it's her space and her man lol 😅
the female is a Cuban crocodile (they do have a bit of temperament) while the male is a Nile/Cuban croc hybrid (although he looks and behaves more like a true Nile croc, Nile crocs are also very aggresive but they can be more tolerant than salties and Cuban crocs who always have a mean disposition)
I am so glad I came across your channel on tic tock first! I am so intrigued by these beautiful animals! The female croc looks sooooo mean! Chris, you definitely are talented!
Aries is so chill. So cool he lets you touch him.👍 Mrs. Toothy😮not chill at all. *EDIT* I'm so glad I came across your video of you hanging out in the pool with Casper. I have respect for what you and Gabby do. You guys are making a difference in the world, 1 gator and 1 croc at a time. Thanks so much❤ I subscribed after watching Gabby's video about women in this field. Thanks guys!🙋♀️👍🥰
Love your work with these misunderstood and beautiful animals. You make my role as an orphaned kangaroo joey carer look relatively easy. The regularity with which so called 'nuisance' crocs / alligators are shot reminds me of the contempt so any Australians have for their own national animal. Keep up your great work.
Have you ever been attacked by any of them? I assume they are intelligent but can you say how intelligent. They are magnificent animals and I love how you interact with them and what you do to help them. One of the most successful animals in history just fantastic creatures thank you for the videos 👍👍👍
Hey Chris I only watched your channel twice and I've learned that they are not being good with you just because you're feeding and I think this is really good how your teaching us that these animals don't want to hurt us all the time. I realize you have been around them a long time but I couldn't believe how good the male was being with you the female seemed like she knew her place awesome video.
Aries opened his mouth in slow motion. But they are fast when they want to be. Wow His hands with those claws are so cute, I think it’s the shape and the texture. What beautiful animals. I feel sorry for them, they are looked upon with so much fear and maybe hatred. They have a purpose and they are built perfectly for it. Their eyes look Look like dragon eyes. Beautiful.
Hey you guys, I just joined your channel, and I really enjoy your videos. I like your approach to interacting with the wildlife, and appreciate you sharing that with us. These animals are amazing on so many levels!! Have a great weekend, and I will see the two of you in another video! Stay safe, and God bless!!
Now this video killed my anxiety for several reasons lol. The croc is so close. You have no escape behind you lol. The female is clearly has huge PMS. And Aries legs appear to be ready to pounce. Whew my nerves dude…you’re killing me 😂😂😂.
