Training Visa - Subclass 407 

The Training Visa (Subclass 407) allows you to work for your sponsor whilst undertaking in a structured training program. Although it is a training visa, most applicants are paid, and there are lower entry requirements for this visa compared the standard TSS visa.
Although the process is quite similar to the Temporary Employer Sponsored Visa (Subclass 482), it is not exactly the same. The application process comprises three stages:
• Sponsorship
• Nomination
• Visa application
This means that before applying for the visa, you must first be nominated by a company that is eligible to sponsor visa holders on this program.

Training Types:
• Occupational training required for registration or licensing.
• Occupational training to improve skills in an eligible occupation.
• Occupational training for capacity building overseas.
How long is this visa valid?
This visa can be granted for a maximum period of 24 months. If the training needed is shorter, it can be shorter as well.
What jobs can get this visa?
The occupation you work in must be on the 407 Occupation List.
Immigration Visa Application Charges:
This application is made up of three parts:
• Sponsorship fee $420
• Nomination fee $170
• Visa Application fee $310 for the main applicant
How much do you get paid on this visa?
It depends on the occupation. Only under very minimal circumstances can the work be voluntary. You pay must be paid the award wage for your occupation.
Can I work part time?
No. This visa requires that you work at least 30 hours per week for your sponsor.
Can I work in another job part time?
No. You can only work for your sponsor.
Can you apply from within Australia?
Yes you can. Provided you meet all the standard requirements you should be granted a bridging visa that will allow you to remain in Aus whilst your visa is processing.
Can you include family members?
Yes you can.
