This Video is from my old VHS tapes and I had produced it quite some time ago then rejected it on the poor quality of Picture and Sound, However Iv'e since done some work on it and decided to put it on, so I hope you will find it of interest.

Filthy locos and rolling stock, tired looking stations, dirty tracks and infrastructure, foggy weather, VHS footage, the fashions, the cars, the locos. It's all these imperfections that make this such an absolutely marvellous nostalgia trip. Thanks so much for uploading - I've subbed.

I used to sit and spot trains for hours every Saturday out at the bit of carpark on the side of the North bus station where platform zero is today. I was at that open day and went on the footplate of Union of South Africa too. It was a great day.

Can’t believe the five-car Trans-Pennine units were still going in ‘84. Never saw them all the times I went through Doncaster on the ECML throughout the ’80’s. Shame no 00 gauge model railway manufacturer has produced a modern 00 version. Still see the odd secondhand TRIX H0 version from the ’60’s kicking about on eBay.

What a marvellous video... very nostalgic and takes me back to the great days of BR Blue. Those great large depots are virtually all gone now, however, it's a testament to the quality of many classes of locos that many are still working for modern Freight companies. Loving those semaphore signals too.

Great selection of locos and especially the railcars of the time. Also Doncaster Works Day. Seeing the steam locos on show in LNER livery, reminded me of the book "LNER In Colour". Pics of those locos in colour: in 1935/36 up to "BRITISH RAIL" era. The video footage looked pretty presentable. There was also good angles and panning etc. It's good that you kept the vhs tapes as they are getting more valuable as time goes by. They are the first step in the transition to "RU-vid.

Lovely sound of the Paxman Valenta ,Sadly missed nowadays ❤Lovely sight of Push Pull Locomotive operated trains ❤️ to the first Gen of Diesel Multiple units ❤39 years ago was still a boy when this were filmed as I myself am coming up to 50 in July 2023 ,Where does the time go? ❤ Remember the New Class 58 that replaced classic Diesel icons in the early 1980s .Love the fashion ,The Pop music to the memories of growing up in the 1980s as a boy back then reminded of this .❤❤ Especially seeing the open day where railfans can get close to steam or Diesel locos , Especially the flying Scotsman when she was just 60 going on 61 in 1984 ,Now 100 ,Just amazing 😍

Flippin' heck - a class 124 at 13:10, a screaming HST at 14:25, and some class 58's being built at 18:57 58015 must have been brand new at 20:19. Crying shame it's been scrapped. Class 101's were still out and about in '84 - 25:29 onwards. Good also to see the 37/0 split headcode gals sounding like 37's should sound and not those "wet fart" 37/4's (Welsh drivers name for that subclass) How's Spalding, Roy? You know 31106 (aka Spalding Town) should be back on Mainline duty soon?
