Filmed on 05/12/2016. We are back revisiting the busiest terminus of the Yorkshire Coast, welcome back to Hull Paragon (season 3 episode 85)
After attending an interview for East Yorkshire Motor Services for a job role as a trainee driver, I decided had time to film at Hull Paragon.
At this station, we see a variety of First Transpennine Express, First Hull Trains and Arriva Rail North heading to and from destinations including: York, Manchester Piccadilly, York, Doncaster, Sheffield, Bridlington, Scarborough and London Kings Cross.
A 90 minute stint is more than enough time at Hull Paragon to see a mass variety of trains and locomotives. Also chances to see once a day service to and from London Kings Cross by Virgin Trains East Coast normally operated by a HST.
It was a good stint considering that it was pacer free and Northern had nothing but class 158 express sprinters operating during the stint.
One train that was cancelled was the 13:25 to Hull Paragon because 158 unit had developed an issue so it ran to the sidings. Most people had to cram onto the 13:16 to York where passengers would have had to change for Doncaster.
It shows that Arriva Rail North needs to have spare units based at Hull in situations of any cancelled trains to prevent these things.
First Hull Trains class 180 units have a new logo as Love Hull Trains because 2017 Hull is the city of culture. First Hull Trains class 180 units has only a few years left in service. This is because First Hull Trains has ordered the brand new class 800 Hitachi units to replace the 180 units.
The 180 adelante units will eventually be heading to Grand Central Trains where it will sadly replace the HST services.
