The second of our London Terminal stations was once home of the electric locos such as the class 85/86/87 on InterCity local hauled along the West Coast Mainline through to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and onwards to Holyhead via a loco swap at Crewe. Yes, this is London Euston (Season 11 Episode 19)
Although not seen, the latest from West Midlands Railway their class 730's which some are based at London prior for crew training in preparation for the London NorthWestern Railway class 730's which are undergoing mainline testing in the meantime. Recently, the West Midlands Railway class 323's are now withdrawn after 30 years in service. Their future will be now with Northern after their refurbishment. The class 730's are set to replace the class 350/2 Desiro's which will head for storage in the meantime.
Avanti West Coast has now finally introduced some of their new class 805's which are working on the London Euston to Birmingham, Chester and Holyhead. These will be replacing the class 221 Super Voyager's which there are now only a few left for Avanti West Coast. These could be bound for Cross Country Trains during their major new look and refurbishment program.
