Trains at Newport, SWML - 18/12/22

Welcome to the latest episode of Spotting! Today I am at Newport station in South Wales, located on the South Wales Main Line. Today services are seen by Transport for Wales, Great Western Railway and CrossCountry.
It was a very wet day here in Newport and also very cold. We did see quite a bit in terms of variety and because this was after the then recent RMT Union strike, a lot of ECS moves were done too. The station I'm glad to see has not changed much, other than having the wires up for electrification. Sadly no 387s were seen in this video, maybe next time!

Brilliant video Kieran!! Stayed in Newport in August to do some station bashing and i dont think the announcements ever shutted up!! Alot of stuff did tend to happen all at once which does get confusing but brilliant station to visit!!

Good video mate, you should of gone on New Year’s Eve to Newport as there crosscountry diverts stopping there you would of got a lot more on camera

For a city 10 miles from where I spent the first 18 years of my life, as far as I remember, I've never got on/or off this station, never had a use for it as all the trains I could just get at Central haha. In fact I've only ever been through Newport (whether that's by train/coach/car/etc) never stepped foot in Newport (unless you count Caerleon but that's on the outskirts!), it's a s**thole anyway so have no need ro go there! But the station has intriguing architexture which I'll give it credit for, and has a variaty of TOCs and DMUs!

Definitely isn't the best of places, that's just judging from walking through it previously. The station is fab though!
