Filmed on 30/11/2022. Well, this year has gone very quick indeed and for what is the first of our three finale outings of 2022. This day, we spend a nice short but sweet day out at the city of Nottingham (Season 9 Episode 41)
One of the main terminus stations of the Midland Mainline and what changes has been made. Since our last visit which was just after the lockdown back in 2021, East Midlands Railway and Northern are almost running a full timetable service with the exemption of the half hourly shuttle services to Mansfield Woodhouse which is currently running hourly.
The East Midlands Railway class 156's do not have long left before they eventually start a new life with Northern. This is due to East Midlands Railway acquiring ex Transport For Wales, few from ScotRail and West Midlands Railway class 170's. The latest editions being ex Southern Railways class 171's which has been converted from a 4 carriage unit to 3 carriage units and re numbered to 170/9. These mostly work on the Nottingham to Worksop diagrams. Some of the Cross Country class 170's has also been added with a third carriage which makes most of their Turbostar fleet 3 carriage units.
Still short formed due to a defective coach, 180110 is still a 4 carriage Adelante unit until its carriage is fully repaired. The class 180's are mostly seen working on Nottingham to London ST Pancras International workings alongside with the class 222 Meridians.
