Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Shrewsbury on the Welsh Marches Line where services are seen by Transport for Wales, West Midlands Trains in the brand of West Midlands Railway and Virgin Trains.
Shrewsbury was a very scenic station to film with the semaphore signals being in place all around the station. The station has a lot of backdrop scenery with the castle and the junction as well. The variety was better than I expected with a lot of TfW's stock arriving and with the 170s and a 221 here as well, it proved to be more varied than first anticipated. I certainly enjoyed filming here even if there were a few gaps but again they didn't last long and things were coming and going a lot. This is a station I'd definitely recommend.
