Welcome to the latest episode of Spotting! In today's episode I am here in Woking where services are seen by South Western Railway.
A busy station as always but Woking on this day was a bit different. It was my first time filming here on a Sunday and there were some big differences in comparison to the normal Monday to Saturday timetable as you'll see in the video! This was probably the best session I've done at Woking for this reason, I definitely suggest coming here on a Sunday if you want the best out of this station!

Brilliant video Kieran!! Nice variety here looks like quite a hectic station!! Lovely to see the 455s still going strong as well as those 458s was a nice bonus. Good to see lots of 159s they sound really nice when they power up and leave!

nice video! out of context but i will be gutted when the 159's get taken out of service, my childhood train and the dream is to drive one before they retire eventually!

Thanks! Yeah I agree it'll be a sad time when the time comes but the good news is we are a long way away from that happening!

@@KTVTransport At least 10 years, legend says that they will be fitted with batteries like the GWR Class 230s but i think thats a lie, but good to know they aren't going for a long while, and yes they are superior trains.. also out of context i wonder why the Class 159s don't go Portsmouth no longer?

Since when did the 455s go further than Woking on the SWML, do you know if that's common on Sundays or was it cause of engineering works becuase i thought 455s on London-Guildford went either via Epsom or Cobham and Stoke.

It's generally a Sunday thing - they run to Guildford and then the trains that terminate here go via Staines.

I was on 450049 and I can confirm it was packed. This was because the train from yeovil junction to Waterloo should of ran but didn't due to a train fault inbetween Basingstoke and hook. Which meant we were stranded inbetween Basingstoke and hook for 1hr. When they found out the problem they sent back the 159's back to Basingstoke where it terminated. So all the passengers that were on that one had to swap trains.
