Thanks for your review Barry. As a result of your comments we have designed and now shipping the Mach 2. The TR8 Mach 2 features: 1. New and stronger pedal plate and brackets 2. We have added more mounting points and enlarged the pedal plate, wheel mount and shifter mount 3. We added a second grub screw to the monitor stand to stop the monitor angling when one screw is added 4. We improved the seat so the quality is better and wider size 5. General improvements to the quality of the frame 6. We have now spread the TR8 into 2 boxes to stop transit damaged previously experienced.
Trak Racer awesome news i was a bit concerned seeing this so i checked your website and your Mach 3 now looks to have all of the improvements Barry mentioned. I love companies that ‘listen’ for feedback and make their products better for this reason ive decided that im going to purchase the Tr8 mach 3 from you 🤙🏽
To The Sim Racing Garage, any of the sponsors or potential sponsors: I base all of my purchase choices on the reviews from this channel and the feedback in the comment section. Sending things to Barry for review is probably the best way to showcase your hardware to the audience making the purchases.
I would love to get in contact with Barry and send him one of our Extreme Sim Racing cockpits. I sent an email a few weeks ago but didn't get a response. Can someone reach out to me?
@@MrSteezy mate , I dunno if you've noticed but half the shit on this channel is out of the price range for most of us. Keep these kinds of comments to yourself Sheesh.
I think this made an impact with Trak Racer Barry. I ordered mine 6 weeks ago it was due to arrive today. I sent them an email asking what was happening, I got this response; We have made several improvements to the TR8. You will actually receive an update for the TR8 which is the MK2. It has improvements to the frame, strengthened pedal mount, additional mounting points on the pedal, wheel and shifter plates as well as other general updates to the frame and seat.
Hey Barry. I Really enjoy the channel and I don’t even own a sim set up, but would like to get one eventually. I would like and appreciate if you were to do a series of videos, maybe a “Barry’s picks” or similar where you have your favorites of entry, mid, and money no object picks for all the components that make a complete rig setup.
I got my TR8 Mach1, April 2019 very happy with the performance! I fitted a Fanatic DD1 F1 Podium and CSL elites LC, great rig! Please to see all updates available on trak racer website.
That’s a good looking chassis. Although, now that I have a SimLab rig I couldn’t imagine having one constructed with anything but aluminum profile. Beside it being solid as a rock the expand ability is so necessary when it comes to sim racing.
Good review. I've had mine since release about 3/4 months ago. I'm using fanatec DD2 so had no issues with any flex at all. You are exactly right about the seat though. I had to drill new holes about 1 inch lower on the back end of the plate otherwise my back would hurt after gaming sessions. Great solid sim rig imo 👍
Thank you for the review! I ordered a TR8 largely based on this video. I wish I would have searched the forums though. I ordered my rig 1/27...it’s 3/8 and still missing my lower assembly and seat. The main assembly has a big indentation that Trak Racer tried to hide with paint..the paint doesn’t even match and it’s already coming off. It’s been extremely frustrating to say the least! I honestly just want my $ back. Even if the rig shows up I’ll be selling it quickly, I have no interest in using a product from a “company” that is so poorly run and treats customers like this.
Based on this review and some of the comments in this thread I ordered this last week (Track Racer TR8 mk3). I am in the UK and ordered on a Wednesday afternoon and it arrived the next day and by 8pm that evening I had it all assembled and working. I have read elsewhere that people have had issues with delviery and build quality, I saw none of these issues with everyhting being delivered in perfect condition and extremely promptly. The build qulaity is very good, and it is extremely stable for my Fanatec CSW v2.5 wheel and V3 pedals. The mk3 version seems to have eliminated any issues with the pedal base flex, which seems to be very sturdy. I only have had a few play sessions around 2-3 hrs long, bu in this time the seat seems very comfortable. My only comment is that the seat does not move as far forward as I woud imagined, not a problem for me but my wife does struggle to reach the pedals. Although I suspect she will only have a go once, so not really a big issue. Overall I'm very happy and woud definitely recomend.
I know this is an old video but, your seat brackets are backwards and the front collars are not slid down and tightened thats why there is movement in the wheel deck frame! Also mach 2 wheel plate is ROCK solid. I guess i have you to thank for that!
Hi Barry, new subscriber here researching to set up for Sim Racing. Great channel, the detail you go into is phenomenal. What would you or experienced community members recommend between this and the NLR GT Track? From the reviews this seems a little better but with the option of easily upgrading to motion on the GT Track makes that attractive. I'd of probably already made a decision and purchased by then but I'd also be interested in a review of the Trak Racer aluminium profile TR80 and TR160 cockpit's.
Peter Bate Dude, get a SimLab cockpit. Aluminum profile is the best for long term use. Seriously, if you think you might be doing this for awhile and even if today you don’t think you’ll end up with a bunch of different accessories down the road. Future proof and rock solid. I have the GT1 EVO. It’s the last chassis I’ll ever need.
@@glennharrison6883 Both Ps4 and PC. TBH, prob best getting a monitor at the frame rate is a lot better. TV only is 60hz, monitor will run smoother at 100-155hz. If I had to buy again I would get ultra wide screen monitor. I also use HP reverb as VR is amazing for sim racing, once setup correctly :)
Hi, congratulations for your video. Is your LEFT/RIGHT SIDE/HANDBRAKE SHIFT UPGRADE KIT also moving slightly on the lower tubular base? Thank you very much
Great review!! I'll be ordering this at some point. Quick question though. Did you ever test this with CSL Elite pedals with the load cell kit? If so, was there still a lot of flex in the pedal mount?
TR8020 is great of course due to the extrusion build, but I think all of these tube types of rigs are really inadequate unless you get a cheap used one.
New sim racing follower here with a question: is the only difference between SimPit and SRG the hairstyle? I've been trying to decide which channel I should follow, both are informative. I LOVE Barry's hairstyle (particularly the pony tail) more than SimPit's and this is why I favor SRG. Am I being shallow?
OhItsThat it’s the most gorgeous hair I have ever seen lapping while sporting flaming Vans. Barry is a living legend, very close to achieving the status of living god.
This really did help me with the build today. Huge Thanks Barry :D But my seat slider is so hard, that the seat wont move, any advice on how to get it moving, haha.
I love it, i was starting in the simracing world but i had to stop it, i have severe cervical problems and holding the thrustmaster wheel in dirt rally 2.0, gave me pain on cervical and shoulders. I really love simracing... Is someone can give me a advise what i can do, is very welcome.
Great video, thank you. I bought the TR8 pro after seeing this video. It says it is motion system ready but not sure which system I can install on it. Any idea? Thanks
3:52 looks good but i have a question about this would it be possible to put the Motion Platform V3 on it and if it is possible that you make a video about it 🙏
Purchased the TR8 about 6 months ago, and they released this version. My version, which isn't much different than this, is a terrible rig. My wheel base was never stable and I couldn't adjust the wheel enough for any setup. I would suggest passing on this and just go with an 8020 setup
Honestly I doubt many people with 'top of the line' wheels are gonna be wanting anything but an 8020 rig. This seems more aimed at mid range sim racers like myself with belt drive or CSL DD wheels. I wouldn't even consider this unit if I had a wheel/pedal set that you have.
Ah man I wish you reviewed the stock shifter mount and the integrated monitor mount considering 99% of buyers will use those... I hope the smaller shift mount sits a bit lower than the accessory one because it seemed a bit high up.
Great channel and thanks. this Frame seems terrible to me to use a wheel stand of good power. It bends a lot and that for my personal opinion is a huge failure.
Thanks so much for this review. I'm looking to get my steering wheel off of my desk and into a proper rig here in the next couple of weeks. I've been trying to decide between this and the Rseat P1 and I think I'll go wit the P1. While I don't have a DD wheel base yet, I plan on adding that to my upgrade path one day and the TR8 flexes entirely too much with DD wheels. I don't want to be buying another chassis at the same time I'm buying my DD wheel base, so I'm going to go straight to the Rseat and eliminate any future costs.
I know this is a silly question but is it worth it for the SIM LAB P1X over the TR8? I know its two really different setup , but is the P1X that much better than the TR8 for the effort? I love both design but just can't decide which route to go ! HELP !~~~
Yes, I offer one on one consulting sessions where I will help you build a Sim Rig based on your personal needs, wants, and budget. Go to my website and send a request via the SRG Consulting Services link.
