A suggestion if I might, whenever using an indicator on the table, place 4 blocks of the same height on the table and indicate the tops of the blocks. So many times the table is not as flat as it should be, and the additional blocks will average it out easier.

Just wanted to thank you for an earlier video on metric gears. I own a southbend 9A. Finally needed to make some metric threads. Used your video to make some 3d printed 54/80 gears. They work wonderful. Also needed to make some 1.25 mm threads that the 54/80 combination can't. Calculated that a 28/40 combination would work. Had the 40 tooth metal gear so I 3d printed a 28 tooth one. Perfect.

Awesome reformatted intro. Describes a lot about your channel and content.

Good video showing twin indicators and the traditional way. Check out Mr. Pete's more accurate way of tramming the head with a single indicator on a 16 circle without removing the heavy vise.

I built one of these, it works a treat for tramming.

Love the new intro! Good to see you again. When did you get a mill? I don't recall you having that. Can you do a quick video on what mill you bought and why you chose this one and how you loaded it in? Keep up the good work!

I've had it for a few years now. I got it for free and it was in pieces. All the pieces were loaded into my truck and a trailer and carted home. All pieces were lowered into the cellar through the bulkhead with A winch and a ramp. Took 3 of us to wrestle the base but the rest was a breeze. Look back on the channel and I have a ton of videos of putting it together. Look at my first 13' southbend and you can see the ramp I built to lower it in.

A $130 or less seems reasonable for what appears to be a well made precision tool. Know I've paid over half that amount for some of my dial indicators just by themselves.

did you start the HOBBER yet? Hey man I need a chuck key made. Do you think you can make one of those helical spiral chuck keys for a jacob's chuck? No one sells them .... not even Jacobs

Seems like a lot is wrong here. You have to get 4 readings. You don't know what collet runout or spindle runout you're dealing with otherwise. Arbitrarily dropping 2 indicators into that thing and matching them tells you nothing about squareness.

Or you could make one for about a third the price.
