A K-Tel inspired infomercial north of 17 minutes promoting Trans-Canada Highwaymen - Explosive Hits Vol. 1. Lots stilted dialogue describing an album available in lots of formats including "streaming". Best viewed at 2am.
Just saw the show tonight. Easily the most entertaining concert I’ve been to in quite a while. A cross between a comedy show and concert. Massively talented group of guys! If they come your way don’t miss it. You won’t regret it. And while you’re there, take a look around you and check out the smiles on the audience’s faces…
You guys rock! Serious Canadian music that I grew up with. Please tour western Canada soon! These songs are on the top of my Apple Music set list. Love you guys, you’re most amazing!
Just listened to the album after their Tom Power interview on Q. Just, WOW! It's sooo good. Especially if you grew up on this music like me. The memories came flooding back. The band sounds tight, too! The drums and bass I thought were great. I'm a stoic old fart. I don't dance. I don't sing. These guys made me do both in my workshop. Thankyou, TCH!
This is one of the most hilarious things I've seen from Canadian musicians in a long long while. It's fantastic that the four of you aren't so far up your own asses like quite a few others of your peers. That you can have so much fun with the "infomercial" along with playing great tunes with such professional skills is incredibly appealing. "Bring the CD in your car! ...if you have an older one." lol
This is the record that I have been waiting for that I didn't even know I wanted! And I know every song. And I also have all the K-tel original albums. I am happy! Raised On Robbery is my favourite Joni Mitchell song! How did they know?!
Go see the show!!! Fantastic live experience and you will have a great time! Thanks for putting this together TCH..can't wait for Vol 2 with even more explosive hits!
I am a fan of all four of those bands that these guys were in, so it only stands to reason I will love this. Granted, some of the songs are a little beyond my time, but I remember most of them. TCH bring new life into Canadian AM radio standards. That would be a fun show to see live.
Yeah baby … had to go to Edmonton to see these guys, but they’re at Whistler (free concert) on August 22 and at the Kay Meek fundraiser in West Vancouver on November 23.
These fine young men, like Korn, Run DMC and The Beastie Boys, already have an Adidas shoe sponsorship! They are going places with their Explosive Hits.
What a hoot. The Dukes of, err, December? Good to see Chris Murphy get a gig after his all too brief time with White Cowbell Oklahomie. Didn't recognize Stephen Page not wearing shorts.
I'm excited about this album and collaborative project more generally, but I just wish that a female musician were involved. BTW, I'm a Canadian Gen Xer, and I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't know that the DeFranco Family was Canadian.
