It's almost as if "trans cringe" was invented to shift the discourse so that trans people communicating their experiences and asking for respect could be labelled as worthy of contempt
No, it's probably because the people in these examples expect the average person to know or care about their very specific condition or status. Nobody's gonna know what a gynophile is. Oh well.
@@emman7953 You act like everyone is going to watch their video. Perhaps they'll provide people they meet on the street with a link to this? It's cringey in particular because people complain about their encounters in real life as if everyone is gonna take a survey of what dreamed up gender everyone is.
@@chrism6018 ah yes because we all make meaningfully long term relationships with every person on the street. Smh get out of here with ur dumbass strawman arguments
I feel like most of these "cringe" videos are just trans people talking about something they care about deeply and are sometimes getting a little emotional. There's nothing wrong with that.
Haha wow I’ve never watched this cringe compilation even though it’s been in my recommendeds for years. I’m really glad to see that you didn’t make the expected video of laughing at trans people. I don’t know about the others included in it, but the video they cut clips from was definitely cut around to sound less coherent and I was 16 in the video so like... yeah anyone would seem cringey if they looked back on content from over four years ago?! I’m very critical of why bashing trans kids is more popular entertainment in the trans community than commiserating about transphobia, especially when what is deemed cringey is just someone’s mannerisms or the awkwardness of finding yourself early in transition.
Meccarox so anyone who makes a cringe compilation is automatically ‘phobic’ of the thing they are making a compilation of... yeah.... you must be nice at parties :/ Cake compilation.. cakephobic!!
@Sierra Larars Um no lol. That’s a pretty big straw man. Compilations are not inherently transphobic. But all of those “trans cringe” compilations are clearly made by people who don’t respect trans people and who believe that trans people are not the gender they say they are. The idea that some people are trans is specifically what they’re labeling as “cringe”.
I came out as non binary yesterday Just wanted to say that Edit: I know I posted this 7 months ago but thank you for all of your positive replies. I was not expecting that many people to comment or like but it really helped. You made me feel less alone when I came out. Thank you :)
I remember some years ago, when I didn't understand trans people, I used to watch "SJW cringe comps" without really knowing what was happening. I watched those when I wanted to see sincere statements of trans people and how I could help. I have a non-binary grandson and that's why, thanks for the video.
Hi grandma! Perhaps you could use the term grandkid when referring to them? Because its gender neutral which is apparently what they prefer if they're non binary. :)
@@hannavignolo6454 aww of course! And thank you for being a good accepting grandma. I'm a trans boy, and my mom tells me all the time I'm never gonna be a boy, so it makes me happy to see parents and grandparents who are accepting and who try to better understand their spawn, unlike my mom who did two google searches and decided I was wrong hahaha. You are cool though!
olive’s garden hey dude can you just report his comment please. he doesn’t seem like like a person you can get to or a person that’s worth anyone’s time
@Gary Lee I love how I always find transphobes on all these videos, like.. How much attention do you NEED ? You're using science as an excuse, but it's not actual science, you get "HEY I HATE TRANS PEOPLE SO IMMA USE THEIR BIRTH GENDER AS AN EXCUSE TO MAKE THEM FEEL DYSPHORIC", and assume that they're a scientist. Seriously, get a life. Especially because tarnsphobes are mostly uncomfortable around transgender people, so like.. Why click the video if it's to state "facts" that you found while looking through the trash of a transphobe's house ? Seriously, you should be in a transphobe cringe compilation.
I love that you're spreading positivity, Noah! I'm a bit tired of seeing so many trans men who bully younger trans people just because they're awkward and cringey or they don't agree with them. : (
Not just trans men, even though it's mostly them. Blair White is a woman and she's doing it! Shame on all of them for not protecting their fellow trans siblings. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Jamie: "Hey spuds!" Me: "Um, I'm not a potato... well okay yeah, I am a bit..." Noah: "Hello underachievers!" Me: "I'm not a - okay yes I totally am actually." xD
@@mv4841 I hate hearing this, families are supposed to love you no matter what. Just remember you are amazing and to stay strong, there are good people out there
Tbh I think Neopronouns are great because not all languages do have neutral pronoun options and english speaking people leading the way with this, helps to establish such in other languages. I personally would struggle a lot to use they/them in a German sentence because it is so connected to english to me, my mind just wants to keep talking in English and it is also very hard to 'germanify' it grammatically. This is a lot easier with pronouns like xir/zir/etc. as well as it makes it easier for people with different languages to establish new pronouns that work in their language.
yes i agree! i also think everyone experiences gender differently and neopronouns can feel more connected to your personal experience of gender than the more “standard” pronouns.
i relate to this sm it sucks to not have neutral pronouns and I'd like to try neutral pronouns in every day life first (i really like he/him, but i dont like it as much in german) but my family would never accept neo pronouns
HeyHelloHi Bye thx! It went better than I thought. They haven’t come round about the name and he/him pronouns but I hope they will. And I’m sorry about your parents 😢
Ya man the gender spectrum comes from the fact that everyone, especially non binary people (because its a new concept to the public) experiences it differently and feels comfortable with different names and pronouns; its why theres "so many" genders. I've personally called myself nonbinary predominantly and i use they/them. Despite knowing who i was years ago i only came out this year and actually asked my dad to call me they/them and Cas yesterday while my friends have been doing that for a few months ✌✌✌ -- All of the cringe in 7:43 just comes from lack of articulation. Theyre just not explaining it very well so it can sound confusing and convoluted And 17:34 clearly has gender expression and gender identity confused or is just not using the best concept for an example
I was very afraid when I opened this video that you would’ve turned to this kind of toxic reaction videos, and now I’m sorry that I underestimated you like that
can I ask you something? I don't mean to be offensive, I'm just curious, if you're nonbinary doesn't that mean that you don't identify with any gender? (I'm honestly not sure swhy I'm asking) so by misgendering you mean calling you any gender like male of female? I'm asking because that would be unavoidable, so maybe I'm not understanding correctly because if someone sees someone that looks like a guy, theyre gonna assume it's a guy people don't walk around trying not to offend someone who doesn't identifiy with any gender because that's almost unheard of or you mean people who already know about you and don't respect it?
Carmen Q I mean the people who know and don’t respect. I look like a “female” and I come across as “female” but I’ve told the people I’m close to that I’m nonbinary and idk how they’re feeling about it. They’re very supportive and they’ve never said anything but good things to me but with my bad anxiety I can’t help but think what if yk.
Carmen Q well first off, you don’t have to assume gender, that’s also an option. We have gender neutral pronouns (they/them/their and yes they are singular or plural) specifically for referring to people and things of a unknown gender. Non binary means you don’t identify as one of the binary genders - man or woman. It doesn’t necessarily mean you are agender or genderless. Misgendering is whenever someone uses the incorrect pronouns/gender for someone. Most non-binary people won’t get pissy because a stranger has misgendered them. That being said, when someone intentionally doesn’t remember/use your pronouns or doesn’t put the bare minimum effort into learning to use them, that’s a different story. And that effort shouldn’t be performative, where you only use it to their face and not behind their back (the one exception to this is if they aren’t out yet, and you have to intentionally misgender them so as not to out them. I had to do this for my exgirlfriend, it was awful for both of us, but necessary for her safety. If this is the case, they will tell you or it will be obvious though.) At the end of the day, those pronouns are the correct pronouns for that person, and calling them different pronouns behind their back just reinforces the idea that it’s silly or done just to humor them.
My parents misgender me behind my back and honestly barely try to use the correct pronouns in front of me. It’s really awful and just makes me feel uncomfortable.
@@JacquelineUnderwood I am sorry you're going through this, I know exactly how that feels and yeah it's awful and hopefully someday with time it'll change. We just gotta hang in there lol :(
You have shamefull ASMR videos on your recommended and you don't want us to know. Either that, or it's filled up with Minecraft tutorials, and you don't wanna admit you have a problem cause "You can stop when you want to"
Thank you. This is so refreshing to see someone reacting to ‘cringy’ trans people and having the maturity to say ‘actually, you know what, these people are ok so let’s not make fun of them’. Thank you for having the strength of character to buck this trend. Please, yes, make more of these videos.
Noah really out here speaking the truth. He’s literally so nice and I wish more people could think like him. Like you don’t have to agree with people to respect them. And especially with all these videos mocking and making fun of people that has done nothing wrong, they’re just stupid. And I’m glad that Noah are more opened minded than that
I'm a relatively new subscriber and when I saw that title, I was TERRIFIED... like you find someone who seems to be insanely cool and then.. KNOCKKNOCK its exclusionism time. But youre just insanely cool, thank you, it was a goddamn pleasure to watch this
This reminds me of that one time I tweeted “pronouns are the waste basket of grammar” and people thought I was being transphobic. No, I was just taking uni level English. Grammar can be super boring and hard to remember.
This is one of the reasons why I love my name. I'm born as a girl with the name Noah. So when I started feeling better with boy pronouns, with wearing boy clothes, my name wasn't something that I hated. But my friend still can't use he /him pronouns... So.. I'm kinda glad that my name is really Noah. Just for that. Anyway, my English is shitty.. xD
Noah_ Tbgl omg i wish. my parents gave me a really cool name that i like, but it’s one the most feminine names in my language and i wish they gave me a more neutral name, because although i like it, it’s not mine. it’s not me, but it’s such a symbolic and important name to have. :(
Maybe I'm biased because I'm Non-binary myself, but almost every clip I saw from this compilation elicited the reaction 'why are you booing them? They're right!'. Cringe planet just dislikes NB people.
Thank you for not disrespecting the people just tryna be honest about their identities or informative! It must be so upsetting to be them and to be abused so frequently for doing nothing wrong
Watching this while icing my thighs cause of chafing, cause GIRLS MUST WEAR SKIRTS and be “proper” I hate gendered school uniforms I just want to wear trousers is that too much to ask? This is 2019, girls don’t have to wear skirts and definitely not trousers, why can’t schools accept this? Even if I wasn’t a trans guy, I wouldn’t want to wear the school skirt cause it’s ugly and uncomfortable and the boys uniform looks better, is cheaper to buy, and is more comfortable for me Sorry for this rant that has nothing really to do with this video
Sam Kelly you can use stick deodorant to help with the chafing. Unfortunately it won’t do anything about the cisnormativity. They’ve yet to develop a deodorant for dismantling gender roles.
That sucks on so many counts. For the chaffing, I wear short leggings underneath dresses. I wonder if you could do that? Maybe cut the leggings shorter if they're longer than your skirt? I've always had thick thighs and no amount of baby powder, deodorant, oil, etc has ever worked for me. I hope this helps with the skin discomfort. I wish dealing with transphobia and sexism were as easy to solve as cutting some leggings. Sorry you're going through it.
Yo Noah, I have a video request that I think could be really beneficial for you to cover on your platform if you choose to. I was in a class and it was brought to my attention that intersex people are forced to have a gender picked by age three. What I mean is the doctors tell the parents to choose so they know wat genitals to chop off or sew up and such. If this isn’t done THEY CANT GO TO PUBLIC SCHOOL. Now they could be homeschooled but I found it interesting that this is the case and a lot of intersex people end up transgender because the parents/doctors chose the wrong gender. Please feel free to do more research, I think this needs to be talked about more because I never knew this until a couple days ago. All this information was told to us by my professor.
It seems like the person who made the “cringe vid compilation” was transphobic, and used their opinions to make the video, looks like you reacted to transphobia anyway 😂
Relatable I don’t really pass (FTM) so when I say my name is Isaac it’s hard for me to say it because I feel like there judging me or something. But if I feel happy with myself I’m gonna keep doing it. Love your channel!!
So im nonbinary, and i like the idea that there are two genders and then nonbinary identities are just a combination, or lack, of one or both of those genders.
@@kaiyodei Imo the label is entirely unnecessary (imo any nb label besides just nb is unnecessary, but to each their own), but that doesn't really mean it's fake. How people choose to describe themselves is completely up to them
@@meuanglao7 so you are telling me, if I made a movie, and I had a character call themself Liongender, because they feel "lion like, both in symbolism and the literal animal" you would be beeming with joy that someone decided to create a non cis character right?
@@kaiyodei Beaming * And no, but once again, it's not my life, not my business. And the word you're looking for there is otherkin, not gender. That's a whole other bag of marbles.
@@meuanglao7 no, there are genders that relate to that. and because there are, I believe otherkin and to some extent being a furry should be considerd a gender. I get called TERF for saying www.deviantart.com/pride-flags/art/Noirgender-669574586 is fake. I can have people tell me it's transphobic to say www.deviantart.com/pride-flags/art/Genderfleur-1--664439769 is fake that, these such genders are not new. these are valid. gender is how you view and feel about yourself. there is an infinity of genders. and alas, see, you tell me I am wrong, when I pretend to support it with my what ifs. my fake liongender is not a gender, meanwhile, something like "stargender" is totally real
i really like this video (if you forget that it’s meant to be “cringe”) it makes me feel very valid as a young nonbinary person to see these grown ups stand up for our gender :’) also you were so polite, you’re awesome!
This compilation isn't cringe AT ALL it's just lovely people getting to know themselves a bit deeper and better, then before! I congratulate them and wish them happiness!

I’m a pre everything trans guy and I don’t pass really well rn. My friends sometimes mess up my pronouns and name which I understand but I always feel bad about correcting them bc I feel like I’m being a burden and annoying when I correct them(to the point where I always apologise after correcting them instead of them apologising to me for misgendering me) thanks for reassuring me that it’s okay to correct ppl Noah
Aw this compilation made me sad, they were mostly just people doing really heartfelt coming-outs and explaining. Calm and collected and not at all weird. There's plenty of other people that are easier to hate, these people are so kind! Imagine hating trans/nb people that much lmao
Thanks so much for this vid noah like when i saw the title im like "oh no he doesnt support us.." then i watched it and youre just being so sweet thank u
this is the first time I've noticed the mcr albums in your background and as a fellow trans bi guy who is a fan of mcr I must say I'm extremely envious
this was such a good video for me honestly... I'm going to have to start watching Kalvin and Ryan's videos with a different outlook from now on bc this makes me realize they are jUsT a bIT wild sometimes lmao but I can always count on noah to have the best things to say about stuff like this
I think videos like these are really important on RU-vid, because it shows kids, to formulate there own opinions, not just blindly believe whet they are told, and to do it respectfully.
Noah’s whole- aesthetic and voice is just so nice like- I don’t have a lot of friends that I can just- be with and not have to relate too on major levels. But Noah is one of those people that just seems like I could understand 100% and not need to speak a word. Idk I’m just rambling but I wish he and I could be friends genuinely.
Androsexual is right. It just means being attracted to men, without giving any indication about the person's gender. Pretty useful word more people should know and use. It's more accurate and inclusive. I like it.
@@ariquarius2939 It doesn't define the gender of the person talking though just who they're attracted to. Of course the word has to tell what gender the person is attracted to, it's what it's for.
When my friend first came out to me as a trans guy two years ago I had no experience with pronoun etiquette or the trans experience (southern catholic school). Whenever I accidentally said she/her or his birth name, he would hold up an imaginary spray bottle and pretend to squirt water on me while saying “spray bottle” with this deadpan voice. It was his way of correcting me lol. I got it now. He has taught me a lot and introduced me to this side of RU-vid.
You go, queen 🥰 I used to watch them too, then "oops! all gender dysphoria" came haha... now I'm ftn non binary. I wonder if watching these kinds of videos is a passing rite of sorts for some lgbtq+ folk?
okay well I'm super depressed because i was planning on coming out to my parents as transgender and i thought that they would be supportive about it but then the other day i was talking about my non binary friend and they were being really trans-phobic and refused to use they/them pronouns when they are around them so now I'm scared to come out.
I can relate on the whole being called the wrong name thing. I'm not trans but I started going by my middle name 2 years ago and people still refuse to call me it. So I understand the discomfort of correcting them or this feeling of being called the wrong name. Correcting people really helps but there's always going to be some people that don't. I have so much respect for people who transition because its can be so hard. I only can understand the name part, but it's still so difficult. Love you guys and I hope your day/night is amazing ❤❤
I was about to be really disappointed because of the whole "trans cringe" and with other RU-vidrs bullying children, which I wouldn't expect from you at all, I've been pleasantly surprised :)
Thank you for making this, I’m a cis female, but I feel like it’s really important to debunk this “cringe culture” bullshit that makes people feel like shit for just being WHO THEY ARE.
