Transfer case rebuild BMW x5

Great video, thanks for sharing. Question: If your chain was skipping because it was stretched and too loose, wouldn't it damage the gear teeth, too? What did it sound like when it was skipping?! I imagine it sounds awful, like it is tearing itself up?

thanks for the posted keep coming. I got a stupid question 03 x5 3.0...the front differential took a went. The suv right now won't go forward or reverse. I can feel the front differential is holding it..I can't get the nuts on the drive shaft out...can I cut off the front driveshaft so I can move the car..since the front differential ain't good. Do I need to look at other things in the car that could have went bad cuz of this issue

Means that car running only on two rear wheel because of old chain ? Because in my car i ve never heard any weird sounds from transfer case

Is the oil for this case is ATF which is the same as the oil for auto transmission gear box.

I have one question cuz i have 2001 bmw x5 4.4 and we have a winter time now but i have a feeling that my car runs as only rear wheel drive car not like four wheel drive . And here is my question . Is that feeling is because torque moment is on rear wheel 63 procent and the rest is on the fron wheel and maybe this is normal why car is running almost like 2wd or maybe it is because of this chain? Because it is old and gets a lots of lose ? And in your opinion if the chain is old and loosed it mea

Hi! I have a 2004 4.4i facelift. My 4x4 yellow warning light has come up on the dashboard but it doesn't feel as if it is driving any differently. What could the problem possibly be?

I took my car to the shop with just the 4x4 light on car still riding smooth and everything no noises nor sounds when gears or changed. However, 4 days later went to pick up my car once I'm about to get on express all these lights come on that i have never seen and my car now is starting to ride rough and loud. Put it in park and back in drive I now get a click abs, dcs, awd, emergency evs all these warning lights are now on. I turn around and go back to the shop and they cleared the warnings. Now all these warning lights go on and off when I hit a bump. If i put it in park they all goes off until i hit a bump again. Can someone please help me?

Good morning Im trying to purchase a Transfer case chain for a BMW X5 3.0i (6 cylinder) Im having the time of my life locating the right one on Ebay it said on the transfer case (Shell TF0870) and a sticker say 7555295 and 5233834 so I don't know i'm lost

hey I been watching all your videos because I have a jolt clicking every time I drive slow? I replaced both cv axles and it still does it? every time I drive it clicks and kinda jolts at the same time it clicks... it's not a bad jolt just a tiny jolt. is that what you had?

hey body I see,, is not hard to do it I have a bmw 335! x drive in my car have the same problem,,, and is true bmw charger a lot of money for a little piece that you can fix..... on my car it was charger me a 4,000 thousand dollars for a little piece but you tube help a lot for do the mechanic on your car......
