Session #74: Transferring information across repeaters
In this Axure tutorial session, I'll show you how to make intuitive lists that allow users to transfer information from one list to the other. Of course, we will use Axure's repeater functionality to achieve this effect. You might wonder why you should consider this option? One of the main use cases could be a shopping cart feature that allows you to dynamically place a product object into a shopping cart list with a click of a button.

Boom! This is great! Thanks for the upload. Really learning a lot from your videos. Can't wait to see then next stage where the buttons go back to original state when removed from promoted list. Still trying to work it out!

Hi I tried the same scenario but the variable name of source repeater is not available in listed options while performing the add row functionality

hi i followed the steps but somehow it only shows the first one on my repeater list. Is there a solution for this?

The trigger MUST be inside the original repeater for it to add both the original and the target repeater columns.

Hey Vytauta, I've gone a quite a long way with this tutorial, however, when I try to delete Repeater 2 rows from Repeater 1, it doesn't work. Adding rows (and transferring data) from Repeater 1 to Repeater 2 is fine, as you teach, but deleting Repeater 2 rows from a Repeater 1 button doesn't work. Perhaps it's simply not a real-world use case, such as that you would normally want to delete a row directly (here: from Repeater 2)?

These videos are great! Is there a way to add an item from one repeater to another using a button that is not inside the repeater?

Yes, you could target a specific item using similar approach: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a4ED-BJiceo.html then store to variable and update different repeater accordingly
