Really liked the fingers to keys perspective. Creative and effective.

the "under hand" angle was... definitely something i've never seen before! literally a new perspective that's... quite trippy at first. Really cool!

Thank! I found this angle by an accident, while holding my camera and preparing to film the 'ordinary' overhead variant, and then it came to my mind that the under the hand bit seems somewhat interesting! :)

The view from under the palm is very interesting. So is it advisable to play with the tip of the thumb, pointing up-down? Could it help prevent accidentally hitting the neigbouring keys with the thumb itself (and with the pinky on the other side of the hand)? This is a playing defect I continue to struggle with. I am watching this camera angle very carefully now.
@UgniusPianist
@UgniusPianist 2 года назад
Yeah, try to use more 'tip' of your thumb. If you use the full finger this will make it super heavy and clunky! :)

Thank you for another great vid! The octaves in the heroic Polonaise probably didn't benefit from the position adjustment because it's more of a circular motion; in passages where one goes in a straight line (like the ones you showed before) it's definitely a great idea!!
@UgniusPianist
@UgniusPianist 3 года назад
Hey! Thanks for watching! Yes I partially agree with your point on the Heroic polonaise, although when playing octaves for a very long time (like in that polonaise) you will definitely notice smaller movements and staying close to the keys will help to keep the stamina and better control :)

Really love these videos! Keep ‘em coming. Would love a video dedicated to arpeggios, and also one on warmup routines or technical exercises. I personally warmup everyday with Hanon and Dognyani. Looking for new ideas.

Hey! I have done video on arpeggios a while ago, so do have a look! Will soon come up with some interesting warm ups for sure!

Thank you again for your videos friend!! I will definetely put them in practice :) Also, do you consider that maybe the same idea if the octaves closer to the black keys could probably apply to the scales? (keeping the thumb near the black keys)
@UgniusPianist
@UgniusPianist 3 года назад
Hey! You are welcome! It really depends on what scale you play, but perhaps you could try this and see this is works! I will definitely experiment myself to see what is working and what is not :)

How do u actually keep the fingers close to the keys? Like mine go too high and if I try to hold them down then tension starts to build up!!! What can I do to fix it?
@UgniusPianist
@UgniusPianist 2 года назад
Start from slow practice and try to relax your fingers as soon as they press the key? That might help?

@@UgniusPianist sir the thing is I have been practicing with high fingers from 3 yrs. And whenever I try to keep them down there is a feeling that I m holding back and that results in pain in forearm and stiff wrist 😅
