Funny side story, I actually worked on the game ROTF and I worked on writing dialog for Breakaway in the MP mode. Obviously we took alot of inspiration from Maverick in the original Top Gun. He was one of the funnest character I’ve ever had to contribute too and really wish he had made it to the movie. Great video and to this day wish he had gotten some screen time.
@@Mattxoxo623 did you watch the video? I mentioned all of this. I said Jetfire died shortly after he defected to the Autobots. Jetpowered Optimus Prime was the only 1. But he wasn't necessarily an aerial bot. Drift can only fly when he's in helicopter mode...
I personally think that if breakaway was added into the film's he'll be treated like half the autobots that barley get any character development or screen time. Like the Arcee sisters, dino, que, etc. They could do something cool with him, but I doubt that.
Yeah they waste all the screen time doing goofy 'jokes' and love triangles with the human cast, and treat the transformers as inanimate objects (cars) half the time they are on screen.
@@FureyinHD agreed, much like the monsterverse, we wanna see the big robots to big robot stuff, not love triangles and humen stuff, tho a humen element is needed obviously, but the transformers should have been the main focus
His characterization of being very courageous and heroic is pretty awesome for a side character, I particularly love the first scenario where he was present to prevent Megatron's ressurection
@@RandomBlackGamer nar it would be kind of sad but I would say he would die during the resurrection and potentially some of his part would of been used to repair megatron, why because it's Michael Bay he does like automotive who can fly, jet fire, jet convoy, and the wing pack prime had all where used once and that's it, jet fire in the bay verse was an extremely old and knew stuff the young autobots knew so their could of been a chance he could of combined with prime without dieing but nope, still doesn't answer the question of how did jetfire's parts work for optimus when they used magnification to attach them
Very cool design, he really looks like a real mech and a pilot, the piece on top of his head looks like a helmet. The main problem is that plane cone sticking out of his tummy, and maybe his head can be higher up
I know right? Dude would literally steal every scene if he was actually in the movies. I know my eyes were always glued to him anytime I played the games.
Shame he never got a chance to shine in the movies. Would’ve been cool to see him get into a dogfight with Starscream at some point. And hey, maybe Scream could’ve killed him at the end of ROTF or in Dark of the Moon, to raise the stakes and give him something to do besides stupidly getting his head blown off by Actual Cannibal Shia LaBeouf.
Yeah he would've made for an awesome arch enemy for Starscream. Seems like Michael Bay was still hooked on the ideas of the Military style transformers being Decepticons. Which is ironic since we got Hound years later.
I really wish aerialbots like Breakaway had been included in Michael Bay's Transformers. It would have added more depth to the story being told onscreen. It would have been nice to see Silverbolt being included as well as a foil to Starscream.
Same. If there was anytime to include them Revenge of the Fallen was that time. Especially since the Autobots most likely had access to miliary jets via NEST.
His original idea was to be used in the DS game so they could just recycle starscream levels, and that's a part of why they tried to re-insert him, as the toy was alredy inserted in the production main line. Altho, he had "won't reach the end of the movie" wrote all over him, so I think that either he would have been taken down by megatronus, or just sentinel prime'd in the following film
I still have his original toy from 2009, and I had a ton of fun playing as him in the ROTF video game. His design was always endearing to me, mostly ‘cuz of the head design and the way he armature folds the wings over his back. It’s a shame that he wasn’t in the films and just got shafted everywhere else. In the games, I could tell he was an expert battle strategist, and easily one of the fastest Autobots on the team thanks to his jet modes. Something like that would’ve been great for the Autobots, especially for an organized military army like NEST.
I mained him in the revenge of the fallen game, he’s just awesome and definitely one of my favourite Autobots. As for the Decepticon side I mained Blackout and he’s been my favourite Decepticon since the first movie.
Honestly breakaway silverbolt and air raid shouldve been in the scene where megs gets revived. In game it was a whole base but in movie just a simple submarine was for deep 6. Couldve been alot more intense
You can tell they didn't do much homework when creating his bio as the F35 is not that fast of a jet compared to jets from 40 years ago like the Tomcat, F4, and Migs etc. The YF 23 would have been a cool design if they wanted to go for speed as that would have been faster than the f35
I was literally just thinking about this guy the other day. I'm hoping he comes back in the new continuity with Rise of the beasts or any of the new transformers cartoons announced.
Oh yeah. I remember in “The Basics On Getaway” Breakaway was used for the character when they lost the trademark. The movies had 2 Breakaways, one a vehicle like the original and this Aerialbot. He’s got a cool design, looking like a pilot but a bulky build. He would be an awesome *Wrecker* in future media with that look. I kinda want him to have a Minicon partner for some reason. Maybe a Targetmaster style Wrecker? A high power rail gun or a sniper rifle like in the one game. Oh have the Minicon turn into the cockpit and nosecone so they’re a more cohesive Targetmaster figure instead of just awkwardly plugged in and there’s just a brick of plastic sitting on him.
It’s nice see Long haul getting a moment, especially against a formable autobot like Breakaway. Despite how many look-alikes that this guy has in these movies, I tend to forgot that he exist, and I tend to forgot that he even killed arcee if I remember correctly.
With all that, I am starting to think that Breakaway didn't die at all. Like you said, Breakaway couldn't have died in the Revenge of the Fallen video game. He didn't die to Grindor, because he would be the only Autobot to take part in the Deep-6 battle. And he would be on a side mission destroying two probes in the East Coast city. Both missions took place after the Hunt for Breakaway mission. I can think of a concept story that would explain this. After being beaten by Grindor, Breakaway didn't die and he was just considerably damaged. He would be rescued and recovered by Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Ironhide. After they recovered him and brought him back to base, Ratchet repaired Breakaway and had him complete an physcial overhaul like Ironhide. After being accepted to fight again, Breakaway would be sent to Deep-6 . He couldn't have died in the "Neferious" series of IDW movie comics, because he would return in the Dark of the Moon video game. Here's how I think that Breakaway survived. After being shot by Soundwave, he was most likely blown apart. But he would pull a Last Knight Bumblebee move and pulled himself back together while in mid-air. That would explain why Optimus Prime and the Autobots were not as concerned for Breakaway. They most likely knew that Breakaway would literally pull himself together. It could be possible that Breakaway could have died in the Dark of the Moon video game when he was shot down by Starscream and blew up in mid-air. Though; because he was blasted apart in the "Neferious" IDW Movie comic series, he would have pulled the Last Knight Bumblebee move again. I personally think Breakaway having the same ability as Bumblebee in the Last Knight makes the most sense and it is the best explanation to how Breakaway survived getting blowed apart in "Neferious" and he would mostly likely survive the events of the Dark of the Moon video game. As for if Silverbolt, Air Raid, other Aerialbots, and Stratosphere survived too, that would be a discussion for a different time.
Breakaway’s arm wields a 25mm GAU-22 Equalizer machine gun. And well… his alt-mode is an F-35 Lightning ii but I feel it’s the A variant in TF2 but then became the B variant in TF3 due to “stealth (not stealth)” mode where jets can have STOVL modes
Did you show Transformers revenge of the fallen at 0:19 because it is the best transformers movie in the franchise or because it is your favourite because it's my favourite.
Every Bayformers fan deserves to have a version of this guy's toy. It's not super well articulated, but it is a beautiful piece from the absolute PEAK of transformers engineering.
It's entirely possible that Breakaway wasn't killed in the fights with Grindor or Starscream. Stasis Lock often looks like death in the franchise, but is more like going comatose while awaiting repairs. And he might not even have gone into stasis lock after getting shot down by Starscream; just rendered unable to fly. Seems reasonable to me. But maybe the games could have acknowledged that he "almost died" somehow.
As a side note, if we get another flying autobot in the movie continuity, I'd want Powerglide in his A-10 Thunderbolt form. And bring in Warpath to complement him. Give the Autobots some serious firepower.
I am very sure that Breakaway didn't die at all. If he ends up getting blown up and blown apart, he can apparently pull himself together like Bumblebee in the Last Knight. That is my best explanation on how Breakaway survived getting blown up in the "Neferious" series of IDW Movie comics and it would definitely allow him to survive the events of the Dark of the Moon video game!
he couldn't break away from his fate.... also in a way, maybe the reason bumblebee killed Soundwave so brutally in DOTM was not only because Que dying but also for Breakaway
I still have the original Breakaway toy, it’s one of the few movieverse Transformers I really like, and I always liked his look, his alt-mode (F-35) and his lore;(Autobot flyer that moves fast instead of fancy), so yeah, I’m a fan☺️
Literally only got added to the dark of moon game because the autobots had no flyer. I wonder why they chose him instead of Silver bolt or Air raid since they had models for them. Airial Bots always felt like an after thought for any continuity or are just ignored
I hope we see more Aerialbots in the new Transformers films. I kinda wanna see Jetfire in the films as an F-14 Super Tomcat with a white and red color scheme just like in Forged To Fight and his G1 style as well as the other Aerialbots from Generation 1.
Transformers The Final Push Trailer Disclaimer: 99% of the scenes and lines are actually from the book Optimus drives on the road to the left of a multitude of buildings before a rumbling shakes him a bit. Wheeljack, Hound, and Jazz follow right behind him before the rumbling gets bigger and bigger before. Out of the building to the right Devastator jumps out of it onto the road. Optimus takes a left but hits Devastator and just transforms. He flips to the ground as his trailer transforms into a battle station. The sound of screams can be heard. Then Decepticons running the streets can be seen. Optimus Prime: I have failed. I trusted him and I was wrong. Ironhide hits Brake-Neck and Dead End and transforms mid air. Optimus looks to a sunset. Sentinel Prime: Such a massive, beautiful world the humans have. Optimus looks to Sentinel. Sentinel Prime: Unlike our own world the last time I saw it. The destruction of our world was imminent. A city with the color orange was in ruins. Smoke rose from buildings and fire was almost everywhere. Decepticons flew across and above the city. ???: I will rebuild Cybertron in MY image. And it will be under my rule. A hand comes from below Cybertron. ???: And once the Autobots have finally been defeated. It will be ours to rule with no opposition. The hand holds Cybertron in it's hand and red eyes look down on it. Starscream: Begin the attack on Autobot City! Sideswipe and Sunstreaker look and see Blitzwing slam into the ground in his tank mode. Blitzwing: Come down here Autobots! To your death! Blitzwing shoots the duo, and they jump either dodging the firey shell. It switches to Grimlock breathing fire at Scavenger and Mixmaster driving away from him. Grimlock starts chasing them switching to John in a tuxedo with his arms stretched out. Then before a black SUV comes through the entrance behind him. Sideswipe and Sunstreaker drive on the rocky pathway with Blast Off shooting at the duo while they headed to Autobot City. The screen goes black. 5 bodies float in the dark space before a planet with 2 horns beside a hole looks at the 5 bodies. ???: Your mission. The bodies get engulfed by the yellow light. ???: Destroy the Matrix of Leadership.
7:28 Woah woah woah… An F-35 with DUAL MACHINE GUNS in the WINGS?! Beuh, he ain’t a WW2 fighter plane. I know it’s science fiction but still… the machine gun should be on the side of the cockpit, or below if it’s the C variant
Haven't you heard bro the fans have brought back the online servers for War For Cybertron And Fall For Cybertron for PS3!!You should make a vid about it when you have the time.
It's quite astonishing that Breakaway was so close to being included in the ROTF movie, got removed at the last minute, and somehow Jolt made it into the film at the last minute.
I love this guy's design. The entire Jet becomes his shoulders. Also, he is not an F-35B. He is an F-35A, as the F-35B has an externally mounted machine gun in a stealth pod on the belly of the jet. Breakaway does not.
Since the first time I saw Starscream in Transformers 1 at the final battle meaning as soon when I played ‘Transformers - Revenge of the fallen’ in PS3 therefore I wasn’t expecting there is an autobot flyer known as Breakaway and I’m sorry to see that he is unable to be included in Transformers 2. I’ve always wanted to know why Breakaway got cut off from Transformers 2?
Man, if Breakaway was in the Bayverse, then Breakaway would been an official member of the Autobot family, and he would have joined Jetfire. It sad that Breakaway ain't part of the bayverse.
No wonder Bumblebee didn’t seem to mind Soundwave killing Breakaway. He already died twice before, so chances are Breakaway will just be back at base by the weekend. Perhaps that’s where Starscream’s power went to in the movie verse.
Ah, I have no id a who this Autobot is because I didn't get the game. Probably a good thing he was cut. Look at the number of Autobots who had little screen time with/ without lines.
Imagine.if it was jetfire who was powered by the matrix and made him beefy because like a meaning for him for admiring the prime and him and normal optmuis fight the fallen
Honestly the fact that he's an F35 probably played a role in him getting cut from the movie the military was reluctant to let people use it in movies it's not very common in media
So the gen 1 transformers Thunder Cracker and Sky Warp were in the cartoon and the cartoon movies and even had toys of them. It would only make sense that they would rehash him in a new toy at least. Breakaway is someone new?
It's kinda sad. I would've loved to see him in love action as I've kinda fallen in love with that robot design and I've been trying to get the single toy of him for 4 years.
I hope in the future we get a transformer game that is open worl or better yet open galaxy being able to go from planet to planet being able to choose and custemize your own bat good or eveil etc. I like the cybertron games more because the world alway felt unique and big. I do hope in the future we get a game like that whether its an mmo rpg or just action based it dont matter to me.
bro. i wonder if TFI creations and the other stop motion movie creators would create a series featuring the bots that weren't on the cartoons and movies?
I remember watching these movies every time they came out in theater I was to enjoy them so much. Now I can’t even rewatch them this movie did not hold up well
