I have alot of respect for you and other RU-vidrs that do your own custom work. I don't have the patience and I'm always worried im going to mess up my figures.
I agree with you brother. This is hands down the best stock G1 Prime they have ever made. But honestly, with only a handful of exceptions, the WFC line has been kicking butt in that regard.

This looks really good. I can appreciate the work you put into this, as I've customized a handful of figures myself. Great job! Have you considered panel lining the inside of the trailer? It would really bring out all the details there.
Imma pause this right here and say that I don't understand the hate on Rodimus Prime; he was one of my first toys in the mid 80s and I still get a buzz from that moment...you know..."Arise, Rodimus Prime!". Anyway....'till all are one.

I customized my Prime as well. And I took some inspiration from what you did as well as toyhax decals. And I love him now. Plus I was lucky enough to get a back up Prime just in case I screwed up.
That upgrade kit makes a huge difference. I'm not normally one for upgrade kits. The only ones I've gotten are for Earthrise Prime's trailer and SS Grimlock.
Great job brother, I wish the rifle that came with the drone set was more in scale with the figure then it be perfect. Hopefully Toyhax armory or someone decides to make one more fitting
This was a figure I was highly anticipating for months. I have the Seige, and a Seige toy of his Transformers Cybertron iteration, but budget-wise, this was the best G1 Prime I could get. And I skipped the original Seige Megatron only to buy the Netflix release with better paint applications. Right now these 2 figures are the definitive G1 figures I own. I can't wait to get the Studio Series 86 Hot Rod just to recreate that Iconic Fight scene (I think I have the Titans Return Kup as well).
Just got my Earthrise Optimus from Hasbro today. I already had the Alternate Universe Prime. I have the Shattered Glass set pre-ordered, and I desperately hope that the Nemesis Prime release gets restocked at least once so I can have the complete set of Primes.
It looks like there was nowhere else to put them in robot mode. I personally don’t mind them, but if you’re not a fan of the look, you can remove them. 🙂
Well By the Time I Spend $25 on Stickers, $25 on Upgrade Set, I might as well get a G1 Optimus Trailer, then Try and Make a 3D Printable adaptor for G1 Trailer to Fit on Earthrise. Then More Cars will be able to Fit Anyway, Do You think That'd Be Possible?

Damn, dude! That's some awesome work! I still haven't pulled my Prime out of his box. I mean, I kinda did, mostly just to get a feel for him. I don't know if that back piece is loose on mine either, but it would be an accidental pleasure. He'd have a LOT more of his cartoon look without it. And who knows, maybe that 'happy accident' wasn't such an accident? Maybe it was designed to be loose on purpose so folks could take it off if they so chose. Of course, it might just be an individual copy issue but that 'happy accident' thing would still be cool. Would it be possible to ask your help in doing the same customizations to my Earthrise Prime? I wouldn't do the same with the windows though. I would leave the stickers out because I kinda like the "transclearant" plastic as it is. How much would you charge? Would you prefer me to get the toyhax labels and the nonef stuff and then ship it to you? If so, I can try to get that done next weekend - or the weekend following. Kinda depends with Christmas so close. I haven't found an Earthrise Arcee yet, but if I do...could I ask for your help on her, too? And maybe Elita One? I'm too nervous to try it myself. I'm scared I'll break something, or lose a screw. On Elita, I still haven't found one in store, but I've seen pictures and I'm not sure I like those tan sections and I'm not sure why they chose that coloring. Anyway, I really like what you did here. Looks suuuuper fantastic! I love how the faceplate pops now. The color difference in paint on the legs is a bit noticeable, seems a little more like peacock blue, darker and a bit more green, than the paint or plastic coloring on the original figure. Also, he looks pretty shiny all over. Did you use a clear protectant on him when you were finished to get that almost metallic sheen? Also . . . regarding Rodi...you're not wrong when you say a lot of people don't like him. I still don't. I still hate the movie and will never be able to enjoy it because they killed the main reason that would have given me some of the greatest moments of my childhood. When you said in a livestream a few weeks back that the TLK version of Hot Rod was like a kick in the face, well, 1986 was a kick in the face TO ME. And every time Optimus dies, it is the same kick in the face. It is BAD and it needs to stop. But then from your perspective, you've had almost 30 years of NO Hot Rod or Rodimus Prime at all, so that is also a kick to the face. So in a way, it's a lose/lose and win/win for all regarding these characters. I do agree that it would be cool to see these two working together. Optimus the senior Prime and Rodimus the junior Prime learning from the truest, most sincere Prime that there has ever been. I want Hasbro to make it clear WHY Optimus is so regarded as the greatest of Primes. IDW made the Primes previous to him big jerks, which might make it too easy for some to love Optimus when they have that comparison. But . . . if we through in that idea that NONE of those previous Primes - except maybe the version of Nova from the game Devistations who WAS still honorable, so far as I remember - were worthy of the MAtrix, it could work. To have the world now following a Prime chosen by an object they thought a myth and to see and feel its power for themselves when previously they may have seen only fakes . . . that could still be a fun idea to explore. That said, I would not be opposed to Hot Rod becoming Rodimus Prime. I AM opposed to him being the reincarnation of Primus and being all godly. I mean, if Optimus can't be the Thirteenth Prime, why is Rodi so special? I agree to an extent too that the story of Orion Pax being chosen because he is so virtuous has a special touch to it, as well. Being a nobody and suddenly becoming a somebody . . . that's special, but it's also something terrifying and comes with HUGE responsibilities that I don't think G1 really hit on very well. I remember reading a post somewhere, maybe Facebook but I'm not sure, where another fan kinda jokingly hypothesized that Hot Rod was Optimus and Elita's son. I kinda liked the idea. Some folks hate the idea of Transformers being able to have families, but I say POO ON YOU!! Victory 11 the manga showed that DECEPTICONS of all creatures could have families, even the Lithonians had families, so why the hell can't the Autobots? Especially Elita One and Optimus? I have a digital copy of the comic . . . Deviations, I think? I like it to an extent, but I also don't. I like that Optimus lived, but I don't like that Megatron died. I think he should still become Galvatron. And instead of Kup pouncing on Hot Rod, the young upstart could do what other fans have discussed in other forums; he uses his stinking arm guns or whatever they are to blast the scrap out of Megatron and that's what causes him to fall over the ledge. Optimus would demand why Hot Rod got involved and he'd point out the gun Megatron had been eyeballing, which is also an idea tossed around by some other fans. But then I still tumble with the idea of how Hot Rod becomes a Prime. I saw a post on Facebook recently featuring a single page from one of the Japanese mangas. It featured Optimus as Star Convoy and he's over Cybertorn alongside Galvatron and . . . I think it had been translated to English because I remember him mentioning Rodimus and the Matrix being on Earth, but in the next few panels there's a shot of his own inner chest plate and comments about the stars sending him power and it looks like there's a Matrix in his chest. I don't know that story line. Was he able to gain a different Matrix? If that be the case, how and when did he get it, or was it at THAT moment because of the stars? The whole premise was to defeat Unicron a SECOND time because he was reforging himself from the bodies of dead Cybertronians. simultaneously Of course, this means that the events of Dark Awakening wouldn't happen, unless the Quints BUILT a fake Optimus. Might be interesting. But THEN the return of Optimus Prime would be entirely different. They wouldn't be trying to bring him back to life. Maybe he got stuck in a separate dimension and they're trying to get him back that way, and then events could be mostly the same? Not sure, and I'm talking to much. I will sneak out now....
the matrix in my ER optimus is very loosely pegged into the chest and every time i open its chest the matrix will just fall off very easily which is strange since almost every reviewer I've watch this wasn't the case but still,its my favourite TF figures so far~anyway nice custom you did there.
I'm not the biggest fan of Rodimus, but the kingdom version was so nice, I had to have it. He looks nice next to Earth rise Prime. The sizes are a little off a putting though. Optimus has such a small head compared to Rock us and both he and Rodimus, and even Megatron are shorter both an Galvatron!. Still, these are some of the nicest models I've collected.

In my world of transformers... Convoy and Optimus Prime are different characters. From different worlds with in the same universe. Convoy has yellow eyes. Where Optimus Prime has blue eyes. Convoy also has alternate side paint schemes.
The easiest way I can get the matrix out it having the chest opened facing down, and just tap his back and it comes out pretty easily, but idk if it’s different on other copies

I have the Nonneff kit... I use its Roller with my dead Prime. I want to try SOME of the Toyhax stickers... only for the trailer... and if I do that, I have to have a factory version. I don't modify my stuff without having a factory version. I might do it when Kingdom's comes out.
I'm thinking about trying to customize cliffjumper the same way you've done yours, with the grey arms and legs-- any tips on how to do this? Did you disassemble the legs, or just use a steady hand to avoid painting the feet? I've never customized before but I hate the stock colors on him and a lot of the other wfc toys.. any tips are appreciated, thanks!

I impulse bought this bad boy today. It was nearly tragic because I walked to Walmart, which the nearest one was 2 miles away. So I got there and thought they ran out until I checked way behind all the other figures. Yeah it was $50 but seeing as how he's sold out everywhere and online is being scalped, I couldn't pass it up. 3:03 Did you say "GIVE ME YOUR FACE" when doing that?
Optimus doing a Shouryuuken...I see you are a man of culture as well. The folding gun gimmick is silly. I don't see why any of the designers of MP10 or MP44 thought that was a good idea, or why any of Hasbro's & Takara's designers of Earthrise Optimus thought copying that was a good idea. (Then again, I wasn't too keen on the goofy way that PotP Rodimus Prime blatantly copied how MP09's gun could split into Hot Rod's guns or combine into Rodimus's rifle, either) And the Nonnef upgrades with the Toyhax stickers do kick the figure way up...but I'll be content with the Netflix version; I already have a pretty nice Optimus of that scale (Classics Voyager Optimus), and for a more "modernized G1 experience", I have the wickedly cool KuBianBao MP10V (the base figure and the "Tactical Container" trailer), which is a Voyager sized KO of MP10.
is there a 3rd party that makes a decent size trailer for OP? I find the current earthrise trailer a bit small, the g1 trailer is a good size/scale for the earthrise OP.
Awesome job he looks great. Do you have mp44 ko? I think you would enjoy fixing it up and doing similar custom work. Siege prime here is 86$ Cdn my mp44 ko was 99$ US at show z. I passed on this for the ko i didn't get a trailer but the to is amazing. It does need fixes but it was fun doing it.

Testors enamel paints. I used Flat Aluminum for the side and face. Flat yellow for the lights on top of his chest. Metallic blue for his legs, though you could use Gloss Blue for a better uniform look. Gloss Sky Blue for his eyes.
