I saw it today. The trailers protray it as different then what it is. There is no one liners ruining emotional moments. Really loved it.

They should have brought back Fred Tatasciore to voice Megatron again he nailed the character in Cybertron games he is still young and legend he still could do it

Transformers has always been at its best when animated. And knowing that this is inspired by the alined continuity and Transformers Prime. This movie is gonna be a love letter to the fans.

As a Transformers fan, I'm glad this is doing well.

Ever since Bumblebee back in 2018, all I wanted was a Transformers movie set entirely on Cybertron. I admit that the teaser trailer was pretty stupid but the second one made up for it. Also, the '86 movie will also hold a special place in my heart, death of Optimus Prime notwithstanding.

I put no stock in what the propagandist shills and hacks calling themselves “critics” have to say.

I just watched it. I can honestly say, as someone whose never been interested in Transformers, this one is really good! It's a genuinely good movie even if you don't like the lore itself. The fall of optimus prime and megatrons relationship made that last act phenomenal

Nothing will ever top the 1986 movie… ever! And while I agree this definitely for kids, I still feel it’s not a movie us original G1 generation fans will ever come to love. The bayformer movies where garbage (transformed and batted like it), and the Bumblebee movie was close, but still not enough to give it a pass. It’s like Hasbro just doesn’t understand it’s core audience anymore. Shame.

Ive been a Transformers fan ever since I was a kid. Im 39 years old. Im a huge G1 1984 fan. Went to see a early showing today. This movie does not disappoint. It was phenomenal. The trailer is very deceiving.

I was so-so on that first trailer, but I thought the second trailer looked a little more promising. It’s nice to finally see Optimus and Megatron actually at the center of a Transformers movie.

LEWIS My take on this is that children love a good story, and we were all children at one time, and every adult still has a bit of a child still in them. If a story can not entertain both children and adults, that story most likely not worth telling and saying ot just for children is an excuse for a bad story. I hope this will be a good one, always like transformers, but I do find most origin stories that are added on to the original story after the fact, that has nothing to do with the original authors story are not done well. If it was actually needed the origin story by the authors would have included it with the story. When they don't, it ussually means it not needed or letting it be a mystery for each reader to fill in themselves is better. Once you explain a mystery, it loses a bit of the magic of the story. Better that you don't actually know how the magician did the trick, because once you know, it no longer magical.

These are probably the same critics that loved the buzz lightyear cgi film with chris evans

Transformers : The Movie is the best TF movie. Best voices, best story, best characters, best score and soundtrack.

I wasn’t blown away by the trailer, but we watched it yesterday and I had a great time. I enjoyed the origin story way more here than anything shown in the live action films.

Lot of great Transformers Lore in this - right across the G1/Marvel/Dreamwave/IDW continuities. There were a few clunker jokes, but a rock solid Transformers film from someone who saw Transformers in the cinemas in the 80's (and still has his original G1 toys decades later). Megatron's arc is understandable and the tension between him and Orion Pax - friends that fall out because one falls into a somewhat understandable rage against those that abused him and the other believes in forgiveness is a tale as old as time.

Can’t imagine it beating the movie from the 80’s. Hand drawn, awesome soundtrack and cast.

Funny enough IGN of all outlets was the only one who didn’t liked it and gave it a 5/10, that tells me if they didn’t like it then the movie is good lol.

The trailer was cringe to me, but my kids want to see it. So there's 3 tickets right there. My son(8) and I love the 1986 movie, so it'll be interesting to see his response to this.

Those critics never tell the truth and have absolutely no credibility at all!! I would rather for genuine transformers fans to see the movie and provide honest reviews and opinions opposed to listening or believing sell out turncoat shill critics who never tell the truth hey!! Personally.. from all the trailers for Transformers: One.. I think it would be better to watch the 1986 vintage transformers movie hey!! Sadly we can't stream it where I live as they won't let us buy it as a digital movie!! Time to find a second hand player or console that can play Blu-Ray's or DVD's hey!!

If the critics loved it, that means it's Woke AF, and it's going to be a waste of time and money. I suspect this one will be even worse than last year's Transformers movie.

I am glad we finally got a Transformers movie with no annoying humans but one thing i hate that Hasbro keeps pushing Bumblebee in all the movies and shows and they kept Ironhide as comeo he deserves more screentime he is Optimus"s best friend not Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts made him more annoying after he was revived

Managed to see an early screening. It is a phenomenal movie that's shockingly good. The first trailer is so deceptive. It really doesn't give a hint about the actual plot in a bid to prevent spoiling anything. Mature, violent, emotional, the humor is far less egregious in the actual film.

Probably a home viewing at some point for me. I own all of the G1 DVDs. I've seen the origin stories on TV and I've read the G1 comics. The CG animation isn't something I care for. I gave Bumblebee a shot on Blu-ray a few years ago and enjoyed that (the closest we've had to a G1 adaptation) so we'll see...

Having watched it, yeah it's good. I'd put it right after TF:The Movie 1986 and in front of all the live action movies. The only annoying part of this movie are all scenes with BumbleBee, he's practically has no bearing to the plot, but thankfully it's very minimal.

I hated the trailer. I had absolutely no hype for this movie as a fan. I just got out of the theater and when I say I walked in expecting to not care and walked out convinced it might be the best movie in the series, I absolutely mean it. Nothing surprised me more than actually liking it. If you’re a fan you’ll like it. If you’re a casual like my wife you’ll like it and not be lost in the slightest. That comparison to X-Men First Class is on point.

Bay Transformers was incredibly tiresome with their tone, human 'characters' and eye-fu$king cgi - good they gone back to purely animated and the origins, set on Cybertron, as much as I've never been a huge fan of Trans, I'll give this a shot

Just from the trailers it looks like it's leaning to hard into humour. As you said, it looks like its aimed at a roughly 8 year old audience. Doesn't seem remarkably offensive just childish.

The trailer made this movie look goofy and very low on the serious level. Also it's hard to top the 1986 animated film, but if it legit is good then looking forward to it.

Saw trailer but not interested. As a child I wanted a live version then they did but ruined negatron straight away. Gen 1 are the best wish they would just make a transformer movie on Wyberton and no humans.

Not really high praise considering the best Transformers movie to date was the first one released in 1986 which I saw on day one in the theaters and like most G1 TF fans I didn't like it! I hope it's good and they reset this series.

I’ve been a fan of transformers since I was 8 and believe me when I say trailer absolutely did not do this film justice, I’ve watch it 3 times already absolutely beautiful, heartbreaking, surprising mature after the half way point highly recommend

I don't trust the critics. After seeing what the Transformers cartoon on Paramount turned into, my wife won't put it on for my kid anymore. Transformers with pronouns...no thanks

I seen the earlier screening yesterday I am a Hard-core Transformers Fan I got Toys, Games, video games comic books, Hard novels, you name it. I Love the 86 movie here me ou this Movie is a great contender personally it is Insanely close besting the 86 movie. I know I cant believe im saying this.

You’re correct nothing will ever top the original that being said however, if this movie does well, it will prove everyone correct that were fans that said they should’ve never made it in live action. They should’ve stuck to animation because there’s far more stuff you can pull off in animation that you can’t pull off with live action. While the live action films were impressive from a visual standpoint the rest of it wasn’t.

Definitely for kids.

Ugly designs, a comedic tone full of cringey zoomer humor, no Peter Cullen or Frank Welker. The movie looked like trash to me from the trailer, and if the critics love it, then that tells me my first impressions are probably right on the money. At any rate nothing will ever beat the 1986 original. All I want is a new transformers anything that doesn't feel the need to inject wacky comedy or politics into it, a film that treats this franchise with a degree of sincerity and respect, something like War/Fall of Cybertron in movie form. The first 8 minutes of Bumblebee got it right, now just take that and do it for 2 hours.

I think you should watch it, you might not love it as much as transformers fans do. But as someone who wasn't interested in the film at all, a friend of mine saw it and thought it was absolutely brilliant.

I've been looking forward to T1 since I watched the trailer. It looks good. I don't care if it's for kids or adults. It looks good and I want to go and see it.

Doh I only just Notice Proto-Megatron is named after the Japanese line's number of "Destron 16". I have I think heard that before but it sort of escaped my notice before as I don't pay a lot of attention to this, so far.

Its a 9/10 ... i do not like Hemsworth as Prime but besides that. Its great

Just back after watching the premiere first show. Well paced, entertaining and the run time not too long. Check it out! Nothing beats Transformers 86 though.
