It’s daring. They’re taking risks as they should when it comes to growth, and leading the franchise into new territory with this story and situation, so I hope it’s well executed. If done right, it could eventually be seen as quite ‘transformative’ (couldn’t resist!) in terms of the overall direction of the franchise. I honestly also have more faith in Transformers animation and games than live action/Hollywoodised films. So, This looks promising. Time will tell.
although i feel it's somewhat of a strong chance it'd be bumblebee as the mystery bot, i do actually hope it is a custom player character that isn't a pre-established character and that we could have a good character customization to represent the mystery bot that is unallied at first and throughout the story our character sides with one of the factions
Agreed If we customize our own transformer cool then I'm game for it If not and it's like Bumblbee or Optimus just riding B to the humans then I am like yeah nah I'm out But jm wiling to give it a chance if they have an extensive customization system for us to make our own character
I really hope the Transformer design is a mix between G1 and Bayverse. Something realistic but recognizable. Considering this is a dark storyline in a clearly dire and meek setting it'd make sense to have that same theme be reflected onto the transformers.
Same. I think we'll be getting our fair share of unique designs from all of the various continuities. So here's hoping we see some Bayverse designs in there.

The biggest question some fans are questioning is who will be the main villain. At first Unicron was a good choice but considering his a planet eater, I don't think him terraforming Earth is in-character unless they pull a Bayformer or Prime Unicron. Personally, I think Quintessons are a perfect fit for the antagonist. Based on the cons invading Earth in the trailer as well the assimilation in poster, Quintessons fits the bill for beings in the universe who would love to invade Earth.
Classically they are not really an invading type of species. They would terraform planets but this type of invasion is not their mo. This is more of something you would expect out of someone like Jhiaxus.
I gotta note something: The flying aliens in the second memory shot have a nearly identical silhouette to Unicron's antibodies in Transformers Prime, and the disintegrating city makes me think it is entirely possible that the chaos bringer himself is up there consuming it, after sinking his gargantuan horns into the planet's surface as we see in the first memory. However, if Unicron is indeed in play, it doesn't necessarily mean the Earth was completely consumed. Something could have happened in between the memories and the present day that prevented him from finishing the job -- e.g. he could have been rendered dormant -- but the threat of him reactivating could still be very real, which would probably be why the humans need the transformers to stop that from happening. All of this is just theory, of course.
In all honesty I think this is probably what’s gonna happen. The lore is most likely gonna be pulled from prime unicron. I’m excited to see it fleshed out.
My theory is that those alien type could be the corrupted Insecticons that mutated and overpowered both factions of the Transformers, like look how they’re always together and move in a swarm
I heard them called the ‘Legion’ they strike me as something different but I’m welcome to surprises. Sounds like the usual ‘no one watching deep space’ or ‘warning about unknown threat heeded too late’
This game looks good and the story sounds amazing like wow I’ve never imagined an apocalyptic story with the Transformers having Mad Max designs and both Autobots and Decepticons uniting against a common enemy and I wonder if the Legion are a force we’re familiar with, like the Quintessons or spawns of Unicron. Although I do wish for a classic single player campaign story, maybe this game will be the first of many more to come
I'm just glad that we could finally get to customize our transformer instead of playing as an already existing character like in the other games. Don't get me wrong, I like the Cybertron games, but I always wanted to be my own Autobot or Decepticon for the longest time.
The DS versions of the first Bayverse movie had it you can customize you autobot or decepticon but it was limited mostly to the vehicle mode you picked

9:53 I agree with you about Megatron looking like that in live action. Hopefully, if he appears in live action again, he should have that kind of design.
For me, it was a bit confusing at first.. but I understand why Splash Damage decided to go on this route. From my knowledge (besides Armada, my introduction into the Transformers franchise back in the early 2000’s) wether in a movie and/or video game, this is the very first time that the Autobots and Decepticons team up together, and for me I think it’s something new and refreshing. It looks dark, apocalyptic.. and astonishing at the same time! This story that they’re going on really reminds me of The Terminator movies/games (which I’m also a fan of) which is another thumps up. My only small complaint is that in the trailer, the focus was more onto the humans rather than the Cybertronians.. I know that this is just a tease trailer and that this takes place here on Earth, but I hope this game focuses more on the Autobots & Decepticons more than anything. But overall.. so far so good! Another complaint that I left out was… can this game arrive already? 😭 lol, can’t wait!
@@soundwavesuperior6761 Video-game wise I believe this is the first time both Autobots and Decepticons to join forces with one another (I could be wrong because I never got the chance to play WFC or FOC in its prime) but yes.. I know that in most Unicron stories that’s usually the case. Believe me, I grew up with Armada and have been a TF fan ever since.
I hope it’ll be open world type game like we can choose our alt mode to best fit our style to travel around the map like off-road sports cars, trucks helicopters ect. Also hearing you say that we’ll have to find body’s to reactivate them. I hope it’ll be missions that will be like finding cybertronian survivors that are hidden and sometimes deactivated ones in danger zones or high level areas. I’m also hoping for a desert or fortress type area since the concept art of the characters are all terrain modified vehicles.
i've been waiting for your take on this, you're the best at breaking it all down cohesively. if you can make your own transformer with your own choices, i'm sold. I'm not too interested in multiplayer games, but if this is above the usual 'battle royal/survive waves of enemies' genre, then I'm all for it

This looks Rad af, the post apocalyptic aspect will be new in story for the transformers, and I've had that idea/thought for transformers as well so it's awesome to see someone bring that to life
There are 6 background missions possibly to the new transformers games based off of the screen in the back, primarily playing autobots? While the bot is loading up you see this Hud screen which could possibly mean that there will be a skill tree while playing different bots. In a promotional art you can see one bot in the middle ground stuck under a rock. This bot was earlier shown in the video as a medical vehicle that got attacked by one of the enemies in the trailer. Which means that the entire trailer was in the perspective of the bot being revived. Once though about it makes sense as several of the scenes had cybertronian on it but also has the typical height of an autobot. While standing up you can also see a mini optimus bot when the bot stands and also looks like a deframed bot in the background on the right my step bu step analysis of this trailer has already gone crazy
So I loved Fall of Cybertron, I loved being able to customize your autobot or deception in the multiplayer. If this game actually allows you to chose different characters, customize parts of them, their vehicle modes, and who they’re inspired by this is a MUST buy for me.
The reason why there are no transformers in the trailer is due to the fact that the Legion had killed them all during the start of the invasion and some time has passed since then and now the humans try to scavenge the Autobot remains and bring them back to life to fight against the invaders.
Note the health bar thing at the bottom right. It almost resembles the same functionality as the transformers "war for" and "fall of" cybertron. This could be the third game to the story as according to "fall of" the ending is a cliffjumper
ive always wanted a TF RPG and this feels pretty damn close to it. a customizable Character whose faction will depend on the choices you make? Hell yeah
that's so unusual to see and especially play as the robot in post-apocalyptic world but still the fact that we are getting a new game i'd better say ONLINE game about Transformers is cool i have a high hopes for this one! liked the video!
It's definitely something different, it's going away from what I'm used at least. I played some of the War and Fall of Cybertron games, and played Transformers ROTF multiplayer heavy too. Before you explained it, I was big skeptical. Now I'm cautiously optimistic and I like the details I'm hearing.
Honestly I'm so excited to see how this turns out. Also finding out our mystery bot apparently isn't Bee actually made me happy because I can't wait to make my own Transformer!
the ideas you mentioned in this sound very interesting. im picturing a landscape where almost all of the transfromers have been excessively damaged or gone into hiding. as the first to be brought back online you have to make decisions on the characters you harvest for parts or use parts to revive or upgrade. i imagine you will have an autobot and a decepticon to inform you on who the damaged transformers are with the autobot warning you against decepticons and the decepticon doing the same. might be taking too many leaps but if thats the concept theyre going for then it could be incredible.
The learning from your mentors and inheriting their fighting styles reminds me of Dragon Ball XenoVerse 1 and 2. Love that some version of it will be added here
2022 is a huge jump for transformers content that the fans have always wanted, this franchise has so much potential to be more than just children’s toys, I really hope we get more transformers video games but until they actually prove they’ve got what it takes to make another masterpiece like the War/Fall of Cybertron games, I’ll keep my hopes neutral
I watched the Game Awards last night and I was so excited to see the Splash Damage Logo and what made me cheer was when I saw a familiar Ambulance and I knew it was Ratchet so I knew this was the new Transformers Game.
I think its a new feel they are going for, so instead of Autobots and Decepticons fighting, they have to work together for survival, so it might be a good start. I am also wondering if we can change the Vehicle mode of the Autobot Recruit (if it even is a recruit) using what is left of the world, or 2 vehicle modes (like blitzwing). Other than that I am very excited for the game.
If it plays anything like Fall of Cybertron, I am in. I miss that title so much.. if enough people got involved, I'd purchase it for my PC. Hopefully this new title will be a worthy successor. 🤞🏻
The way you describe it, it sounds like it will be a lot like the DC Universe Online game...both have a world threat that forces both factions to team up...both got "mentors" like you mentioned...we play as a nobody, a complete custom character..and the list goes on, idk, maybe I'm reading to much into it but I felt like I had to say something
So glad I found your videos, I was honestly worried about this game from the trailer (the graphics are gorgeous but it was very human-centric) but it looks like there'll be plenty of proper Transformer focus in the game, and the human characters do actually look likeable as well. And I'm actually really glad it's not 'Bee, and we get to play as a whole new character whose personalities and choices we will influence, especially since we can actually decide to side with the Decepticons! Most games only have the option to be fully Autobot. The mentor scheme makes it sound almost like a much darker version of Earthspark, which is interesting. Super hyped for this thing! Your ideas for how a Starscream mentor might work sound cool, it'd be so fun if we get that sort of interaction in-game!
This is such a neat concept! Not so much the general concept of humans involved in the transformers battle, which is neat, but of course that general concept is in most TF stories. But the element that is neat to me is the post apocalyptic setting, with earth already in shambles due to the Autobot vs. Decepticon battle! And we see how this whole ordeal has affected both humans and transformers in a similar way! The closest thing we’ve had was in the Bay films, but those usually follow the Autobots and humans trying to stop the Decepticons or whatever evil force from plunging earth into said ruin! I don’t know if we’ve seen a story where earth has already fallen into ruin, and how our species would be affected, and how the transformers, Autobots and Decepticons would react as well! If this is available on the Switch, or XBox, or PC, I’ll see if I can buy a copy!!! That, or I’ll see if there are any play through vids of it! (Although, I kinda want to try playing this game myself, as while I love watching gamers play games, I also enjoy my fair share of games too!) Either way, I’M HYPED!🤩
This is definitely giving me Fallout/ War For Cybertron vibes, plus the music and clips in that trailer made me emotional and excited for this! I just hope it has the touch to make newer fans fall in love with Transformers and bring back the nostalgic fans of the past.
This is exactly what I was waiting and expecting for a new TF game, something NEW, with budget and that wasn’t safe, no WFC/FOC all over again or some unappealing “”””rts”””” game that played more like a dule tower defense or something. THIS is exactly what I have dreamt about for years, not safe at all, and it seems to gather a lot of inspiration from one of my favorite game franchises such as Gears of War??? Man they sold me this game instantly.
I really must say, this game does look interesting. Judging from the leaks about the 3rd person gameplay, a part of me really hopes this could be a potential spiritual successor to the Cybertron games. As a side note, I think the post-apocalyptic and cybertronian aspects mixed together would make for some really awesome visuals (Which is a way we do see in a somewhat terminator-esque atmosphere.)
Based on your descriptions of the game based on the leaked knowledge and if we are led to believe that this information is accurate, I could see this game taking on a very similar style to Mass Effect, but with transformers! In this case, the mystery bot would be similar to Shepard where the character has a common alias but the player has the freedom to customize and roleplay as whoever they want. Then decision making then comes in to play; where ME had Paragon and Renegade options this game could have Autobot and Decepticon options. Very intriguing! Will be keeping a close eye on this title, great breakdown!

I really am hoping it is a custom bot because those are all the range these days. Plus, I am a sucker for making your own in-game characters. The story HAS to be good too

I'm really interested in the customization depth of this game, especially considering what the leaks say of the player as an entirely new transformer whose playstyle will be based on your chosen mentor.
This feels very full of cyberron like, in the sense that it’s a post, apocalyptic world, that is supposedly supposed to be a third person, shooter, and I’m really excited to see where this goes, it feels very mad max like
Looks very interesting and made with love (and rockets, of course). Just sayin’, those golden alien birds/craft flying around and the attacking ground beast look a lot like Energon Terrorcons… definitely something I’ll be keeping my optics on. Hoping there IS a third person player option after the opening, because those graphics look awesome and I do like to see them around my character rather than through a letterbox!
I’m liking what I’m seeing so far. Movie based games don’t fare to well and for them to be taking huge risk like this if done correctly will definitely reap heavy rewards. Good to see the franchise coming back to life ( need Star Wars and DC to follow suit). However I do hope that they go all in for customization from weapons, abilities and vehicle modes. As far as weapons I’m thinking something like Titanfalls mechs but much more detailed (how they look, functions and firing modes). I hope that we have the ability to change into multiple vehicles like maybe at first your a car or truck but you bring up a memory file of a previously scanned jet and boom 🛫🛫🛫. Can’t wait to see more trailers/gameplay

At @27 seconds in the Hasbro plus trailer. You see the guys with glasses working on bumblebee. But if you look to the right you'll see a big blue object on a bench. I think that's optimus that they are trying to reactivate
I can't wait to play this third person shooter game for transformers I'm glad it's the same gaming company that did warframe and plus the devs have confirmed the gameplay details is going to be just like warframe.
I was shown this game about a year ago by someone on the team (not saying who) but I didn't know it was a TF game till now. What I will say, is that the map is very, very big. Big cities, harbours, the like. Not sure if it's open world or anything, but I do remember (very strongly) that there's a boat split in half by rubble, and there are these moving black blades of grass/flesh from that stuff (it was simply called the creep then) but that was a year ago dont take what im saying as certain because it couldve changed
This is really cool. I would love to see an open world action adventure multiplayer game. I also would like to see you be able to play as humans and transformers together. Imagine being able to play as a human and jump in your friend as they are playing as a transformers and doing some double team actions. Overall I'm excited for a new transformers game. I also hope they bring back the toggle transformation model. Being able to use vehicle mode for traversal and combat as well.

This was a very unexpected announcement from the Game Awards. But I’m very much interested in this as it’s the first transformers game since Fall of Cybertron that’s got me excited
This more than likely ain't bumblebee. He's not the only cybertronian that's colored yellow. This guy is more than likely a downed autobot the humans discovered by sheer coincidence. And that's where the customization comes in. I've played a game like this before way back in the DS days. First TF game they made for it and it was on the DS. We got to play our own autobot that was part of the story. Or a decepticon depending on which one you got. And you got to choose your vehicle form. This game is more than likely based on the old DS games only it got a huge upgrade. That's what it feels like to me at least.

This game already looks good I hope the game’s multiplayer is good because I have a feeling the game will be good and I hope the game gave unlimited customization for example your transformer will have a tank part in back and the head will have skull like transformer I can’t wait
Honestly this could be a good opportunity to introduce new transformer characters, maybe even bring back characters from the cancelled Transformers Universe game? Also what happened to the Combiners? Did they get instantly killed off? Or was there a much worse fate for the Combiners and even the Titans?
I honestly didn't think that would get anything transformers related at the game awards. Like I only saw the first part of the trailer because I either fell asleep because the event was kinda boring or step out my room for some dinner. Like the game awards wasn't all that great, like along with this new transformers game, only like a good handful of games got my attention. But anyways, I hope to get more info on Transformers Reactive, along with some gameplay. And I hope it doesn't end being a complete failure like previous transformer games like Rise of the Dark Spark and Battleground.
I’ve heard time and time again that there will be absolutely 0 custom character customization and that it’s gonna resolve around upgrading your known transformers IPs like Optimus for example… very glad to hear that there’s a CHANCE that that won’t be true.

This is a slight nitpick but I'm glad they change the name of the game Transformers rise sounds like a generic title. Also this is an interesting take on Transformers taking it to a post apocalyptic game. I won't lie bumblebee's robot mode looks like he's been skipping leg day.
i hope theres a option to play as a custom character and does what mass effect does and have your character specialize in other stuff instead of specialized in everything like alot of shooters does
I think it's the best choice they could make. It's never been done in any transformers story, as far as I know, and is necessary for a game that involves custom characters. That way, this would truly be our story and adventure than an actual canon characters. At least, I hope it involves custom cybertronian and maybe even custom human characters.
This would be cool if this game does back to the original roots of the transformers ds game where you can make and design a custom character and have different vehicles and change the color of your character and have a big free roam. But watching this trailer makes me think where is Optimus or some of the other autobots? I hope it turns out to be a big reveal that optimus is still alive and have maybe made an alliance with Megatron just this once to stop this virus or some sort of big reveal that we will love.
I wish they'd give us a single-player action game that we could still play several years after release, but I'll make the most of it when it comes out. At least it looks way better than Battlegrounds.
