I actually appreciated how they were talking to each other in their vehicle modes in this movie. It's so common in other Transformers media, but this seems to be the first time they've done it in live action.
Technically the decepticons did it throughout the original trilogy of films in the cybertronion language but this is a first for autobots (Except AOE scene calling all autobots but that was only prime)
@@Djayscratcher98actually the first time was Hot Rod in the last knight when he kidnaped that woman (sorry don't remember her name) he was speaking even when he was in vehicle mode
"Not us, we cannot claim credit for human ingenuity" God finally an ancient alien story that doesn't demean humanity's achievements but actually them marveling and cherishing it and our potential as a species, even as they are much older and much more advanced. I cannot tell you how nice that sentiment is coming from Primal.
@ kennethsatria6607, I’m so glad I’m not the only one who felt this! I was so happy when they gave humans credit instead of tearing them down like in other alien movies.
İf his inner bayverse fully awaken, he'll just stay silent and proceed to charge at scourge without aiming his gun. Like 'Fuck with this gun, i'm going to tear apart your head with my barehand'
@@XVNRX you know, Optimus Bayverse always spoken like a psycho or something, like "Give me your face"', or trash talk the enemy. But in TFP, even the angriest Optimus never say something like that.
I can see why he got angry at 1:40 because at 1:25 he saw all the Autobot symbols (along with the other symbols) on Scourge and discovered not only had Bee been one of his victims but so had other Autobots (regular, Wrecker and Elite Guard) and that ticked him off realizing more of his Autobots had been killed by Scourge.
And I thought that shot with Prime's rear view mirror is just for dynamic camera angle with him and Scourge to build tension that they're gonna fight in the next scene. It may as well intended to be both cases.
The way Optimus's tires roared afterwards could likely symbolize the utter rage he felt at Scourge. Those victims could've likely been his close friends..
Optimus prime already lost lot of his man back on cybertron. scourge even killed bee and some of the autobots which make optimus had enough and wanted to end him once and for all
I liked how the other Autobots look clean, shiny/reflective while Optimus looks war torn. Makes me feel like Optimus hasn't stopped trying to find a way for them to go back to Cybertron for 7 years while the other Autobots has grown a bit accustomed to the world they've been stuck in.
Its nice to see his less combative perfect action hero side for once, this movie really makes you feel for him like when your dad is really tired from work
I really loved this interpretation on Prime. I’m not going to pretend like I don’t understand the criticisms, because I do, I understand people were hoping for a far more wholesome Prime more in line with the G1 incarnation. I feel like this Prime is kinda an “upgraded” Bayverse Optimus in terms of character. He has that memable brutality in battle but in RotB it is given far more reason and Prime has a lot more restraint. The guy had lost one of his closest friends to a group of glorified cultists who serve an all consuming dark god, so I can fully buy why he looks forward to killing Scourge, it’s one thing to deal with Decepticons who as crude and brutal as they can be, believe they are fighting for a better future for Cybertron, and another to deal with sadistic worshippers of robo-satan who serve purely because “power good”.
4:28 🥺 I’ve never seen Prime with puppy eyes. I was internally screaming, NOO NOAH! Dang, the website watermark covered his face, I wanted a clean screenshot
Yeah I think after talking with Primal and seeing how willing Noah was to destroy it, Prime finally realized his place on Earth. He can't go around pushing through humans or blaming them for bad things. It's their planet, and Noah would not be wrong for wanting to protect it.
1:33 A reference to Micheal Bay's Optimus that makes sense wanting to kill Scourge for Bee and the feeling of guilt and shame that he felt He put his autobots thoughs
@@Capybara2240it was entirely necessary to rip off what is essentially the foreskin of the fallen skull. Leaving him alive until optimus rips out the heart and crushes it. I would argue ripping a head off is more of a reasonable thing to do.
Man I absolutely love the characters of Prime and Primal. Prime is not the human-caring person he's known for hes barely been here, and he doesnt understand. Feels different to have Cybertron still be a home to them, and not having it be destroyed and Optimus accepting Earth as home. The fact that Primal, the one named in honor of Prime, is the one who shows him the worth of humanity, even giving him his line, more than meets the eye, is gold.
I'm starting to love this version of Optimus Prime even more, He has mixed feelings about humans in the beginning of the movie and He cares about his Autobots a lot more then himself. I really love this version of Optimus Prime
@@Capybara2240 optiumus transforming down freeway to take on bone crusher brakes are on that is far better than 2023 Yous all wanted bay away now we have gi Joe Al guarantee you that bay would not have had that
"Battle with darkness will continue till all are one" - I love how this movie played with classic important lines. Something like "Light our darkest hour" seems possible after that.
The big difference between this movie and the other Bay movies is that the robots are actually talking to each other and to the humans. There are conversations and they react to each other. Watch the old Bay movies, the robots are talking but it’s like nobody is listening. They only talk to themselves. This movie is much better!
I don't get what you mean. When the Bayverse autobots, humans and decepticons converse, they do exactly just that. They ask and answer each other's questions, share their input on the topic, react to what was said or shown, etc. The only part where "the robots are talking but it's like nobody is listening" really were just a few scenes where Sam and Cade don't respond to Wheelie. Of all the criticisms the Bayverse gets, this one just feels very biased and dishonest.
@@crampus8205 no, I am not biased. If you can’t see and feel the difference between the bay movies and the last two movies, then maybe you don’t think that is important. The interactions between robot and humans in this movie is far more natural than the bay movies.
@@kongyiu but which was executed more naturally is not the issue here. I responded to your claim that no real conversations were held in the Bayverse, or "They only talk to themselves" as you put it, when that's obviously not true. You're free to commend the writing of the newer movies all you want, the majority probably agrees with you anyway, but there's no need lie just to prove a point.
this is totally a better optimus prime than the previous one. While the previous one mindlessly help the humans because he doesn't want humans to repeat their mistake of cybertron. This optimus has a more valid reason to help humans, he fought war with a human who fought war for his clanmate's sake, which strengthen his bond with humans.
@@salmansharif8379 The knight design is shit. It's one of the worst Optimus Prime designs ever because you can't even tell that it transforms and they gave him a permanent "angry" face when Prime is supposed to be "gentle" (in Peter Cullen's own words!!!). The original Bayverse design rocks, but the knight design betrays everything the character is both in his personality AND his visual design. Optimus Prime is supposed to be a gentle, approachable leader who turns into a truck. The knight Optimus neither looks gentle nor looks like he turns into a truck - and this is reflected by the fact that he almost never transforms in both movies, and constantly shouts "I'LL KILL YOU" which Peter Cullen himself said he hated because that's not something Optimus Prime would say.
This optimus can't beat Michael bay Version. It was the best n still is the best design. Everyone loved optimus as a character bcz of that design n Michael bay's Badass scenes of Optimus . That optimus is the real Optimus Prime which people admire
I know that people prefer Optimus to have his battle mask on @ all times, but I like that Rise of the Beasts brings back the open-face look from the 1st 5 movies.
0:52 This is a nice comparison between his bot and alt mode. The mass shifting is alright but I wish his bot mode look as pristine as his truck mode and vice versa.
Well he did go through alot of character development through the movie. He went from not trusting humans to trusting and allying with them. And his rage was understandable when someone who worships a evil god that is hell bent on destroying your homeworld kills your friend and rips off a piece of him to wear as a trophy... you can understand the rage.
I really don't think it's that bad. Even if you take the explanation that this is not the same Wheeljack? Wheeljack is... well... a dork, I can imagine the dude taking an appearance that makes him more relatable to the humans.
@@the-aspiring-creator4249 There’s plenty of people who are dorks that look/dress nothing like that. He can easily still be a “dork” and not be designed to look like one. In his other iterations he’s a dork but he looks so much cooler.
@@Bajanprince67 I mean true but also I think for Wheeljack being the kind of character he can be in his popular incarnations? I think it'd make sense that when he got to Earth, he might see generally what people consider to be a smart person and try to do it to blend in. It's to me innocently charming. Is the design great? Eh it depends on who you ask but I don't think it's the be-all, end-all for this character. Plus, at least he looks decent and not like Que.
@@Bajanprince67 Oh definitely, it's not the best look for him but it's not as bad as the Bay stuff and I think at the very least it can be forgiven when everyone else looks so good.
Dont mind me Im just fond of Prime's arm blaster 1:34 2:26 2:33 4:13 4:25 4:30 Although the arming and disarming animation is pretty cheaty, the cannon is still pretty badass, just wish we saw it giving some real damage to something other than dirt.
The least we see it transform in and out of Primes arm. Unlike RoTF Megatron's canon where we barely see it come in and out of his arm at all. The sword coming out of the canon doesn't count.
Man honestly the tone of the movie felt weird but i think its bc a lot of the screen time was given to other characters rather than just Prime and Bee But they sprinkled in just enough to please us Bayverse fans. The original music at the end too
I love that this film homages the Bayverse multiple times. At 1:52 you can see that the energon spilling out of Scourge's mouth is green, just like in AOE. Knightverse Optimus maintains that Bayverse battle brutality. They even brought back multiple themes from the Bay quintology. Its clear this new trilogy is going to be like Prime and combine the best aspects of every previous Transformers universe.
Rise of the Beasts also brings back Optimus' open-face look from movies 1-5. Not to mention that Optimus even rips off faces like how he did in the 1st 5 movies.
1:33 Marrage: Prime, what the hell are you doing?! Optimus Prime: I'm going to take back scourge's key and then....take OFF HIS HEAD. Me: damn that line gives me chills.
Unlike when Bay was directing Transformers, BB and RotB had more transformers interactions Bay focused explosions and megan fox's tits. Good thing he aint directing anymore and just a producer
Yeah, he didn’t seem like a very respectful director either or as a person. I think he is very sexist due to how the girls in his movies were portrayed. I just think it wasn’t very necessary. And he ruined Optimus’s character by making him so unnecessarily violent and aggressive. I actually wanted to crawl into a hole and hide in embarrassment when I watched Age of Extinction with my dad because of the fact Optimus was screaming bloody murder that was so out of character. This version of him was much more human, a bit more sarcastic and more like his G1 version. It kinda reminds me of a dad whose wife left him with the kids and he’s just trying to keep his sanity LOL
I like that Optimus has the open-face look again like how he did in the 1st 5 movies. I know that people want Optimus to have his battle mask on @ all times, but I like that he has an exposed mouth.
Is it just me or did the bots all become bigger at 5:55 and onwards, size wasn’t consistent, prime is looking same size as he was in transformers 1-5 as compared to the humans and mirage is looking same size as bumblebee in the previous films too..correct me if I’m wrong
yea they look massive here but it seemed consistent with other scenes. Could just be the way everything is framed. The humans came up to under Optmus' knee at all scenes
@@rainfall2880 Right at 5:11 everyone gets huge, OP there is more than 4 noah/anthony ramos tall compared to 0:35 where OP is a bit over 3, so roughly back to bayverse heights wich like the rest of the movie it checks out
