This IS technically a Masterpiece Class figure minus the over-complicated transformation and the excessive price tag, he's just too beautiful! Btw, if I'm not mistaken you can flip his insignia on his chest from Autobot to Decepticon.
Probably one of the best siege figures if not the best transformers generations figure ever, defiantly getting mah boi skyfire awsome review cheafatron 👍👍👌👌
Also something to note is that you can also attach a few deluxe siege figures, or any tf with a 5mm fist hole, on the underbelly like he's dropping troops onto the field.
1:02 You know you have hahaha. Awesome review, this figure is perfect. I thought they did a great job with the previous Jetfire, but i will have to sell that one now, cause it is never coming out of the box again.
Great review, I kind of expected for Jetfire to be huge but as tall as a combiner it’s really huge. Mine is arrive next week with Springer from Pulse. I hope I’ll bump in to you when I visit Greenhills.
Awesome review, bro! I have said that this figure is the mainline equivalent of FansToys Phoenix, meaning that it’s the best version of the character HASBRO has ever done in the mainline. When I first saw images of him I knew I wanted him in my collection definitely. I cannot wait to see the review for OMEGA SUPREME! Be looking for you to do that too, my dude!
I should have ordered mine from Amazon like a lot of people cuz they already got theirs. I ordered mine through BigBadToyStore and I'm still waiting for it. Nice review!
A very awesome toy from Hasbro and Takara. Thanks a lot for reviewing! Hope he can make it to your 100% liking list to keep. :) As for me, i had grown up with the CHUG figures and their sizes. And grown to love the Takara Legends Leader Class Jetfire design and size. So Siege Jetfire is not necessary for me.
The wings have the standard 5 mil pegs on each ...Show side swipe g2 side swipe r redalert pegged n alt mode under wing ...Also show legend class fig r deluxe fig n action pose hangn on each of the four carry handles under jet fire also show the details for head master placements inside the bk pk under the blue wind sheild... ty ...
Hey man, I didn't read all your comments, so I'm not sure if somebody already mentioned it yet but the episode you are talking about in the G1 cartoon based in Peru, is called "Fire on the Mountain" The Polar Ice Cap episode is called "Fire in the Sky" (I think you already knew that though...lol). I just got my figure today...how long did us G1 kids have to wait for an official release Skyfire worthy of the name? Man.....can you imagine if this guy came out back in the day?? I would love to go back in a time machine to the 1980's and show this guy to my pals...I think everyone would be my friend!! You've serviced the Transformers community with your review mate....I tip my hat to you.
yes, thanks bro! oh definitely. how i wished the toys back in the day looked like the toys of today! thanks bro, i really appreciate the affirmation. really gives me strength to keep going on despite all that's happening to YT.
Thx for proper comparision (with something big :D). I thought he'll be CW leader size, but he is much larger :). His only flaw is price - there's 0% chance I'd be able to spend $80 + shipping costs (+customs fees?) on him :(.
Cool vid. Live the "blast" sound effects. Just like the sounds I made as a kid and find myself still doing when I unbox these toys as a 41 year old man-child. Haha
I've noticed that you've mistransformed him a bit in robot mode. the backpack is supposed to have the lower section raise on a hinge and cover up the cockpit on the upper section.
This is an awesome and amazing figure I wish I could get one but I can't afford the aftermarket price for this thing it's amazing thanks for the video on it I just truly love this figure
So torn on this. I really like it, but at the same time I am also pretty happy with the last Jetfire we got even if his alt mode isn't as G1 accurate. "Fire in the sky" was one of my favorite episodes, mainly due to nostalgia because it was one of the few episodes I had on tape so I watched it a million times as a kid. Lastly, your review can also be a drinking game. Everyone needs to take a shot when you inadvertently say a sexual innuendo.
After watching your video for the first time I had to run over to Walmart and sure enough there he was I had to have it... Mine had bad paint on the battle mask and chest plate... I won’t use them anyway so I got lucky... best hasbro figure release to date.
So far Siege figures are following the Sunbow size chart which was part of the bible of the original series. It's actually the only viable resource to put the G1 Transformers in scale with each other considering how inconsistent the actual cartoon is.
I finally managed to get this guy ordered yesterday for $49.41 from Amazon with free shipping because they were offering a limited time deal and I am glad that I waited and can't wait to get him next week.
Yeah, those upgrades do make the CW type Combiners a little taller. Otherwise, Jetfire is pretty much the same height. (TMan978 did a review of this figure, one of his size comparisons was Victorion...same height, and that's WITH her unique feet) I would guess that the regular craptastic hand/foot/guns as feet would make them slightly shorter, since they're flatter feet, and the Prime Armor feet would have the same height as the Victorion feet. Of course, a certain CW mold could give a little extra height - the Off-road mold as a leg; the port is designed oddly, so the peg of the hand/foot/gun can't go in all the way. Result: a slightly taller leg. It affects Off-road, First Aid, Ironhide, Trailbreaker, Ruckus, Zombie War Breakdown (from Takara's Grand Galvatron, it's the Unite Warriors version of Transformers Prime Breakdown), & Ratchet...so it's best to have two of that mold as legs. (Takara's Lynxmaster/Sky Reign actually does this: Trailbreaker & Ratchet are the legs) So looking forward to trying to get my mitts on this next month. Oh, those pegs on the underside are meant for other figures to hold onto and "be carried into battle". Funny how Jetfire dwarfs Cyclonus...and the CW Silverbolt mold (for Silverbolt, Cyclonus, & Scattershot) makes a pretty HUGE jet. Ehhh. I'd still wanna hunt down the old Classics Voyager version, just because it's also a rockin' figure (something that fugly Generations Leader class one was NOT).
indeed. i wish i had victorion. she went for $100 out here and i passed on her. after watching the Machinima series, i wanted to get here but she was sold out everywhere. thanks for the info on those pegs. reminds me of old mech-tech ports, just reversed in this version. yeah, the classics/henkei jetfire was really cool back in the day. with the helmet and all. small, and squat, but it was jetfire :-) thanks, bro, as always, much appreciated :-)
Nice review. 25:35 Btw his cockpit is meant for Titan and Prime Masters to sit in it, too. And I heard that even in the upper cockpit, the one in the red backpack part, there are two spots for two more Masters figures. It would be nice if you could do an update video on this especially as I've seen NO other reviewer showing this so far.
@@chefatron Uh, I missed that. Sorry and thanks. But what about the other cockpit? It would be nice if you could do a little update video especially as I've seen no other reviewer showing this so far. So you would be the first ;)
In the very start of the video when you have the robot posed the backpack is in the wrong position or maybe you wanted it that way but if not the lower part of the backpack can be raised up and placed over part of the top making it half the size. That will put the peg holds for the guns in the position they have on the box. You have the guns connected to the wings which is ok but the box have them connected to the backpack. Looks fine either way.
blast effects turned black and orange even though I haven't used or taken them out from their original plastic packaging. has this happened to anybody else out here?
Had to buy mine for full price ($70), because I just switched from Masterpiece to Siege/Earthrise, but he is definitely worth it. Really reminds me of my old MP figures, but at a more reasonable price, and a scale that is more manageable as well.
awesome bro, that's actually a pretty good price. that's how much it retailed out here in Manila before it completely sold out. not hobby shops are selling it for $85. glad you made the shift bro, i had to quit the MP line because the prices were just becoming crazy. the WFC trilogy really gives fans that whole G1 experience
I got him today along with 3 other figures. I don't even know where to begin transforming him he is the biggest individual figure that i have in my collection
I just bought a BIB siege jetfire for 120 usd plus shipping (Goshhhhhhhh!), i was just so excited/desperate and not really care anymore that what i got has some kinda yellowed shoulder and a lil mishap in the face because this figure is just pure awesome! Can you help what to use for his silver face? I mean what brand to buy? Also for the white head coz the blue paint a little bit excess. Thanks!
I just got one thanks to TOYS ARE RUSS on here...I am waiting for him. Ive always loved white robots since I was a kid. He will stand next to my Commander Class Snarl Giga and power of the Primes Optimus Prime....
Ezilla82 definitely man. really glad i got rid of my other jetfire figures at a time when people were still buying them. now, with this new version, no one wants to buy those other figures now
I was lucky to find mine for 60€ when it got released, two years later it's practically impossible to get it for less than 200€, more expensive than a Titan at retail price, I can't imagine how expensive it will be in five years.
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttt?! that's crazy man! i'm sure Hasbro will find a way to bring down those secondary market prices by re-releasing this guy perhaps in retro packaging or part of the Legacy line...
@@chefatron aweee mannnn when the hasbro dude showed the prototypes at toy fair had shown us how to do it it got me all excited they musta not followed through, what a bummer! Thanks mr chefatron sir 👊
EdDIE holy smokes! you’re right bro! at first i couldn’t flip it down or up but then i pushed it and the darn thing swings sideways to flip into a decepticon symbol !!! 😱 my bad man. you can totally turn his faction symbol from bot to con !
Oh and btw the Fire in the Sky was the Peru episode if i remember brotha,. We had the vhs tapes and it made me a fan of Skyfire. We couldn't afford the figure so with legos i would make his jet mode 😂😂
He's way too large for the class! and i like it! His chest can be flipped to change factions (for Autobot or Decepticon.) Jetfire (Skyfire originally but before he became an Autobot) is very BIG! he also based on his G1 Cartoon and -can turn into a Gerwalk if you want to.- He's so Macross you can hear the Japanese Macross opening :D
@@twistedgaming9185 Also Years Later, Japan itself won the case against Harmy Gold for something (Robotech or Battletech?). i can't remember much of these but Harmony Gold loses the case and somewhat. they're only have limited years left, only 2 years.
I NEVER liked the name "Jetfire"! It always conjured up images of a jet plane engulfed in flames to me. I never liked how spindly the original G1 toy was or how it looked nothing like the character that was introduced in the original cartoon. Heck, even the Marvel comics used the cartoon model! So for me, this figure will be known as "Skyfire"! All of the ugly armor attachments will be relegated to a parts bin. The blast effects are nice, as they can work as both jet thruster or weapon discharge visuals! As far as your references to the cartoon episode "Fire in the Sky" which showcased Skyfire's first appearance, history with Starscream, and an eventual crisis of faith that led him to reject the Decepticon cause and defect to the Autobot cause...well, you succeeded in rekindling my love for the cartoon character. When Skyfire was initially recovered from his icy imprisonment in the Arctic ice and repaired by the Decepticons, there was nothing that was removed from his structure. Thundercracker mentioned that "whatever it is, being on ice kept it fresh". Skywarp chimed in saying that his impulse center was down and removed what appeared to be a piece of armor on his kneecap to show something similar to an EKG readout. Starscream ordered that he be given 50,000 volts to activate his memory monitor. Soundwave noted that his cyber-motor relays were useless, but still transmitted what appeared to be a massive burst of electricity. Starscream ordered the amperage increased to a million volts, at which point Megatron noted Starscream's concern for this creature. Then, the aforementioned memory monitor activated and visually replayed his last memory on a screen contained on his forehead beneath the blue square on his helmet's ridge.
@@chefatron I love toys myself and u are really the guy that sold me on 2 toy's so far i enjoy your reviews just wanted to keep putting that there to let y'know you're doing a great job i had toys my entire life haha.
Ethan Ritter hey thanks man, i really appreciate all the support. stuff like this really means a lot and keeps me going and doing all these reviews. :-)
