@@mangamegs Snapdragon is by far 1 of the best jets out there in G1. In terms of the molding. The rest is the afterthought. Though still neat looking. The color scheme works as well. G1 Apeface is probably the worst tripple changer of all. I can only imagine what they'll do with a new rendition of the character!
I have a broken 1987 G1 A.F. and I've waited 3 decades for a new version (hell I even considered the MP Kingorilla but that's even more back kibble and a real chore to transform and the price!!!) so this one's for me. I'm surprised how overly involved his transformation is too but I've saved my now old Titans Return A.F. head as well because I was convinced we'll get a new of him and here he is!!! Love the bot mode the most!!! Great, honest review and those whooshing sounds?!! Luv that!!! You have a penchant for those, keep that up!!!
This was the final voyager for siege that i needed. Went to walmart to get some cherry coke and i always go to toys first so there on a wwe floor tower thing sits apeface himself. All they've really had for ever now is stupid 35th anniversary crap and seemingly no change except for a lone apeface with the wrestlers lol. So now i have one, yay! I like him well enough, need snapdragon now. Thanks for the review. COBRAAA!!!
Just got mine today! in the mail. Love it so much. Transformed it twice now and inspected every part of it up close. Actually when bringing the entire mid neck piece over I til up the nose of the jet, and then lift the entire part forward then push the nosecone back and it will avoid stress on that 1 big tab.
@@chefatron Really? I am curious though, what is it you actually keep. I mean I am big on combiners, and I often replace figures with better renditions like the new Springer goes in place of the T30 Springer. Also was trying to do some stuff with the entire group of generations Headmasters, you know Wolfie Skullcruncher and Mindwipe... and my Mindwipe broke... So now I am replacing him... sigh. Those rubber parts really are fragile.
@@dgray3771 if you watch my collection update vids, you'll notice i have a 100% rule. all figures i still feel i like 100% i keep. those that go to 99% and below, i sell them. except SS figures as i'm trying to complete the series.
@@chefatron I see, yea I also saw you kept a lot of the combiners last time you showed your collection a bit. I am big on collecting combiners. Vanilla Has and Tak. I completed all the combiner wars combiners except not for Devastator because the Hasbro one irked me, particular the aweful lack of elbowjoints. Got all of the combiners of PoTP and looking to score me the Piranacon. Other than that I collect what I like and have no qualms relinquishing those I replace. Though I get attached to figures sometimes, like with my Lego collection. Anyways you and your family have a nice Christmas and thanks for answering.
Some say that his detail lacks because of the white paint but eh, still a gorgeous figure. Overall he's an excellent figure. Can't wait for Snapdragon!
Neat review. Yeah I dig Apeface. Too bad he doesn't scale well with the titans return beast bots. Do you think he'd scale better with the Weijiang oversized headmasters??
Maybe not perfect, but it's definitely the best Apeface we've ever gotten, eh? Thanks for the vid; the instructions really suck so I had to come here to get the transformation right.
Very useful review, Chef! :) In my opinion, the robot mode is cool, the gorilla alt mode isn´t bad, but the jet alt mode is lazily designed, the "Titans Returns" little vehicle was better g1 looking. I was expecting more from this figure :(
@@ginodescalzi6476 Just got mine 2 days ago, from pre-order in the Netherlands. Can tell you it is rock solid, as far as the transformations go. Also the white plastic looks far better in hand. Which is Nylon not ABS. Making it more flexible and less prone to breaking. And that due to those thin parts as well as the multitude of tabs is a great idea. I still shiver with fear when I transform my T30 Blitzwing and Jetfire. Because the thinner pieces ugh.
@@ginodescalzi6476 Btw watch the elbow joint of the robot mode, The white Nylon is really flexible, I don't know how that would affect the purple upper arm if it starts bending "too much". The Upper arm swivel is really tight so better grab hold of the purple part when turning the arm.
Out of all the figures he is the only one who I don't want, which is really interesting. This entire set has had the least amount of figures that I don't want. With all the Prime Wars figures, there were a lot that i did not care about but so far with the War for Cybertron he is the only one.
The winga can be rotated 180 degrees so they are instead located directly on his back, no mods no forcing the wings, there is a thread on the tfw2005 that show how they look, www.tfw2005.com/boards/threads/wfc-seige-apeface-ape-mod.1184916/
I like the way the monkey arms can unfold in jet mode. Then someone could imagine Apeface snatching up autobots to take as prisoners. And it makes sense to me that Apeface has Spasma riding in a rear passenger seat/monkey's butt with no control panel. A gorilla is a monkey, right?
@@chefatron Thanks... he feels and looks really better on my hands, than the web pics and videos... Many of us complained, but he is a really nice Cybertonian Robot!!!
@@chefatron you always help. And im proud to say the only issue is the shield doesnt plug i to the right arm well. But the left one works. And it came on sunday. And i get shockwave thursday
I was really waiting for this figure to be released after Hasbro announced it, but the more I know about it the less I want it. Transformation seems unwieldy and not fun at all. By the way, congratulations, it seems you're the first one to nail it on camera - JayC transformed him without instructions, so he obviously mistransformed him into gorilla mode, baltmatrix after short struggle got him more or less transformed (he fixed it off-camera :)), but it was rather "less". Is this white plastic the same type which Hasbro used on Jetfire's "soft" parts?
well, perhaps it's best you find out for yourself up close and personal bro. maybe get it on retail so you don't spend too much and you won't feel too bad if you hate the figure. wow! really?! i haven't seen both of their reviews yet. thanks, i feel better about this review now. i actually thought no one would watch it anymore since everyone's all but done it. no, i think jetfire's white plastic is softer
It's sort of "future tense" anyways - few days ago I have found wave 4 deluxes and wave 3 voyager at online stores here in EU, so I think I'll have to wait a month or two for wave 5 figures to show up :). Experience taught me to check multiple sources (reviews) before buying anything. People have often different opinions so I can get familiar with multiple view points and see if reviews have any common points (for example if certain flaw is design flaw or just reviewer got damaged item).
@@BlackhandPL well said bro. i used to do that before i started with the reviews. once i did reviews i had to get stuff early and fast regardless of the price. now i'm being very picky due to budget constraints and rising costs. but i still try to get the ones i really love early and review them for you guys as soon as i can.
That looks strange gorilla head hanging out his ass. I find the colours little mismatched. I like Jetfire. I just one one from another RU-vidr complete mint in box.
