Seriously though...Magnus looks amazing, IMO. I picked up all of wave 1 and they’re each solid, fun figures but I get the feeling from my fellow fans that there’s not a lot of excitement about this line. Am I the only one who has really enjoyed these guys so far?
TMan978 fair enough. I do watch all of your reviews and looking back, I do recall positive impressions from you. I watched your Magnus review after catching up on some podcasts which left a strong sense of “meh” coming from the hosts. In particular, Radio Free Cybertron...and your feelings seemed to match theirs and it started to feel like an epidemic.
Awesome find, bro. I've seen no sign of voyeger or leader class siege at my local target. The theft and fig swaps are so bad here in my area that two of the 3 Wal-Marts have stopped carrying Legends & most Transformers product save for the kiddy stuff. Sucks. Great review, dig all the little changes you've been adding to your reviews. Wish you the best going forward.
Reminds me of the FansProject kit. Using an identical mold as Optimus would drastically change the look of vehicle. I heard we can expect a Leader Class Optimus Prime later in the line. will it be a re-paint of Ultra Magnus? or a total re-tool with a different core-robot? That would be cool.
@@DragoonMS I could see that... I don't think they would add the flaps on the sides of Optimus Prime's head. But you could easily weaponize to make him look a lot like the Galaxy Force/Cybertron figure. I'm looking fwd to it now... thanks for telling me.
Nice to see we think alike @20:06. He looks sooo good. I'm a sucker for a kinda sorta not Optimus in armor. It's Magnus! But alas, I may wait for a discount.
I got the guy still in the box. Glad I read your review because I may return him and wait for a discount. Not that I don’t want another version of my favorite transformer, but I still put CW UM on my shelf and this one would just stay in storage mostly. This Siege UM looks better overall, the head sculpt is dope, but he seems stiff? I hope there are kits made for it down the road, incase people want to change the look of the armor.

Great review mate, I think I'm going to stick with my LG Magnus but this figure does look good I skipped through a few other videos of him but I have been waiting for your reviews with this line
@@TMan978 no worries mate, a lot of the time you get annoyed about the same things I do with figures lol I think they should have made it compatible with Optimus too because when I was a kid Prime would often borrow the armor
FANTASTIC REVIEW TMAN978!!!!!!!!! I wanted to please ask one question, "Do you think Ultra Magnus is a better toy then both Hound and Sideswipe?" I wanted to ask since I am having trouble deciding to buy just Ultra Magnus or both Hound and Sideswipe first. :P Once again thank you for another great Transformers toy review. ;D
@@TMan978 I work at Target, and we haven't gotten deliveries of the bigger guys yet, unfortunately. The aisle just got reset this morning and there wasn't any product to put on the pegs. I don't miss the DMV, but at least that area gets the figs in a somewhat timely manner. :P
I just started collecting transformers with siege and am a really big fan of ultra magnus so this figure really excites me but I could see how as a seasoned collector this figure could be kinda boring.
Love the look of the armoured figure, colors and design but I don't like how short he is. Not a fan of not being able to store deluxe vehicles in his carrier mode and also very much dislike the unarmoured white robot mode. The see through chest is okay, but the abdomen is dumb looking. I use multiple things. And this video I'm using some wild kidz display pieces. I usually use white poster board, a curtain and some fabric I got from a fabric store.
This seems like the cooler of the two Leader class peeps of Wave 1...and as a character, I LIKE Shockwave more. But let's be real, they somewhat dropped the ball with him. Magnus is pretty cool... though I would prefer a white Optimus simply because trying to work the Car Robots Godmagnus/Robots in Disguise 2001 Ultra Magnus vehicle mode for a G1 style inner robot & armored mode just...don't...work.
I normally buy first, then hope Target or Wal-Mart have a sale within 90 days. If they do, I buy again and return with my original receipt. Voila, I get some money back.
@@TMan978 They will, but at Target it has to be within 14 days, per their policy. Most of the time I'm not lucky enough to have a sale happen within 14 days.
