Transformers Spotlight: 1984 Cliffjumper 

Man, it really is sad how Cliff gets treated now, seeing this just reminds me of what a boss he was. Small, spunky, had a good record in battle, courageous, and surviving the worst of the worst.

I always loved Cliffjumper for his spicy personalty and courage to take on big challenges. Besides his G1 toy was a personal favorite of mine when it comes to smaller robots.

I always forget Cliffjumper is a Porsche but I never forget how epic he is as a character. Great video 🙏

TREMENDOUS! Thanks for this look at ol' "Cliffjump." I always yell at the screen in Transport to Oblivion, "What are you shooting at?!?!?!" I think he's listed as Warrior because of the press slam on Mirage.

If the original G1 Autobots were dog breeds, Cliffjumper would be the chihuahua. Small, but feisty and rambunctious.

Cliffjumper will always special for me. He was the first transformer i ever bought. I still have this figure after 35 years. The tires are hard now. Even dented at where it stood on. Very fragile too. But i will never sell it or thow it away.

This is a video for me cliffjumper is my favorite transformer. This great video just made my day a lot better.

I guess, Cliffjumper’s Glass Gas is equivalent to liquid nitrogen

An interesting quirk is that the scale discrepancy wasn’t fixed in animation for the mini bots so despite should being the same size as jazz he and the rest are little guys and it plays into their personalities.

Also CilffJumper is one of both my favorite Transformers and best Autobots of all the franchise ever since I was a kid, also Incredible video, my man.Well researched and incredibly sharp photography.Also a tiny but mighty Autobot. Another great but excellent Video, well done. Casey Kasem is and will always be King.Casey was also the voice of Shaggy from Scooby-Doo. So Jazz and CilffJumper both survived the movie, but Scatman Crothers died and Casey quit over the insensitive name of the Middle Eastern Country.🤔, Despite that I too believe it was due to the late great Legendary voice actor Casey Kasem who also did the Classic,Original, Retroboot, Shaggy on Scooby Doo is why he had such a pronounce moments on the G1 show as he brought great but remarkable storytelling.Also Superb! When I was a kid cj was the transformer toy I wanted the most. As an adult I’ve pre-ordered the Missing Link Cliffjumper toy, so after all these years I’ll finally get him 🙃

Cliffjumper was my first autobot toy way back in 1984. I still enjoy the minibots. Great video.

Christmas '84, my first Transformers Sunstreaker, Mirage,Thundercracker, Soundwave AND CLIFFJUMPER!!!

Cliffjumper was my first ever Transformer. Probably because of his appearance in Marvel UK's issue 48 Dinobot Hunt part 2.

Have the Red Bumblebee, but always wanted Cliffy. He was great. Loved this video. So great to learn the history.

I believe it was due to the great voice actor Casey Kasem who also did the OG Shaggy on Scooby-Doo Doo is why he had such a pronounce moments on the G1 show as he brought geat story telling.

I like the mini bots. As a kid they were most of the ones I could afford. It was cool the cartoon pushed them as characters a poor kid didn’t feel like he only had bit characters. If you just had prime and some mini bots you felt like you had a good squad

I would argue that G1 Bumblebee is just as brave and fearless, but without the recklessness and eagerness for battle. 'Jumper is a great character, though, for sure. The Buzzworthy figure they released of him is absolute cartoon perfection.

13:57 So, despite the fact that Spider-Man knows that the symbiotic suit is capable of morphing into anything, (he was just using it in an earlier page to change from a civilian outfit to his hero costume), his "brilliant" idea is to just put a army helmet on top of his head, and pull up to the commanding officer, still wearing the symbiotic suit as his hero costume and hope that his "clever disguise" will fool the guy. Pete, sometimes I think you just do silly stupid things to see if you can get away with it.

I think Cliffjumper is representative of a variation on the question, "Well, if your friend jumped off a cliff, would you do it?" as a retort to the old proclamation, "But my friend did it!". The answer is meant to be no. But that's also indicative of Cliffjumper's willingness to jump into action without thinking of the potential consequences or downside of his actions. More heart than brains, in other words. Optimus the voice of reason that stops Cliffjumper from "jumping off the cliff", much less have anyone follow him off the ledge to potential disaster. Then again, he was one of the very few Autobots to survive the 86 movie, so he must be doing something right.

I actually thought cliff jumper was an 80s Ford 2 door Escort GT when I was a kid....

I liked him over bumblebee

The one I had one that was yellow, and Bumblebee was red?🤷🏽‍♂️ It probably was a factory error, but my friends said it was a lot of them like that?🤔

When frist saw the G1 universe with it's movie Cliffjumper was one of the characters I really liked from it and came up with an idea of him Jazz and Bumblebee being a trio of brothers. Which I then got to play out a lot with the 07 toys drew to all the Bees from the time getting repainted into him which I've always been ok with because they do look similar enough to might as well be repaints and I really hate that him dying at the beginning of Prime because the actor was to expensive has become a running joke now one because it isn't funny to murder your characters and most of the bots in Prime didn't get a lot of screen time because of actor cost and ignoring a majority of the robots didn't become a running trend. Just another reason why I found Prime a disappointing series.
