That “texture” that you don’t like on the car is to mimic the brushed stainless steel that the real Delorean is known for , I thought it was a cool detail hasbro included
@@PrimeVsPrime Well, it would probably be real hard to get that steel effect on something like this, so that's why some areas are more obvious while some are not. I've seen many DeLoreans since I went to Delorean Motor Company Midwest and got a free tour around their shop which at the time, someone who works there was making their BTTF DeLorean.
I think it's probably because contach and delorean looks kind of similar in real life. Of course the siege sideswipe isn't a contach, but it's based on g1 sideswipe, which is a contach.
The "wooden" effect you aren't a fan of is actually accurate to the car in real life. The car was engineered to have lines/grooves in the metal throughout the car.
The Dodge Viper (RT-10 or GTS) from TV series Viper. Use elements of Binaltech/Alternators Side Swipe and Sunstreaker for this mold. Herbie from The Love Bug,Magnum P.I.'s Ferrari,Face's Corvette from A-Team,and later with the 5 vehicles from Team Knight Rider (and Knight Rider 2008's K.I.T.T in his Ford Mustang GT mode with a new K.A.R.R.).
Ok, 3 things: 1. If maybe they made a backstory to Gigawatt i guess it would be that, when doc showed marty the delorean, maybe an autobot drone scanned him and became gigawatt. 2. Imagine hasbro using/remolding this mold to make a special 3 pack including the 1st, 2nd and 3rd time machines like a special exclusive 3. Also, imagine hasbro making a new mold almost a astrotrain like mold to make the Train time machine from bttf-3?
An astrotrain for the train time machine would be great and I think they should make doc and Marty figures to go in the train and maybe even in gigawatt
The Deloreans had a brushed stainless steel finish which is what the texture is quite effectively capturing. They also made a couple out of real gold (plated) as a last ditch attempt to get out of bankruptcy etc... didn't work.
I really hope they keep going, first the awesome Ghost Busters cross over, now the Back To The Future cross over. I really hope they do the classic Myster Machine from Scooby-doo next. Or maybe even one of the 2 Jurassic Park jeeps.
@Darth Fett 23 right??? I imagined them having robot modes, dino modes, and vehicle modes. I would love it to have the more complex live action look too. Maybe the red and grey jeep could be a raptor and the green ones that take guests through the park could be a dilophosaurus because of the bright vibrant colors
One of the most detailed Deluxe Class figures I ever saw, I got guests at home and they didn't realize that it was a transformer until they looked underneath it.
I'm a fan of the crossover line and own all of them so far (except that limited edition Gigawatt from earlier in the year) and I have to say that the packaging difference seems a bit random and confusing. Both Ectotron and Gigawatt have awesome Gen1 inspired boxes but Gigawatt's box is very small in comparison. Maverick has a fairly unique looking box altogether (very strange shape), and while I quite like it I honestly would have preferred that Gen1 look on it as well.
definitely got this figure just because it pushed the right buttons. the nostalgia. the vintage box. the concept. the one-off-ness. and i dont even collect transformers.
This is *easily* my current favorite TF. I love mine - except the Mr. Fusion, as noted. The hook attachment is... sort of extraneous. I leave mine, and Mr. Fusion, in the box. My current second fav, is Ectotron.
Epic review PrimeVsPrime!!!!! :D I hope Gigawatt gets released in the United States soon. :) I wonder if the wide chest design is supposed to be an easter egg to Doc Brown's bullet proof vest? Keep on being amazing, Double Thumbs Up. ;D
I like this a lot, but I think the paint could be better. I’d add some claim to the head for one, repaint the flux capacitor, and for a smoother silver to the overall coat. I’d also make sure Mr. Fusion connects in car mode securely.
Another BTTF crossover could be the Time Train, from the third film. Since the Delorean is supposed to look like Marty, id think the Time Train that looks like doc brown would be cool as well.
This Car Can Reveal/Bring Back Transformer Releases from The Future...It looks Alright Especially in Car Mode.. Maybe Knight Rider Next (Although i have seen a version like it already)
I just had an idea. Y'know the Netflix Bumblebee? Do you think his gun from the Centurion pack could peg under the car mode? (So you could still roll it)
When pre-orders went back up for it I ordered. For some reason Target charged me recently for it even though it didn't ship and isn't supposed to until January.
i’m still not convinced with this figure, though... it’s going for nearly usd$60 out here on pre-order. a price for a leader class figure but you’re essentially getting a deluxe class figure 🤦🏻♂️ also that visible kibble seen through the windshield could be the deal-breaker for me... 😓 well done as always bro 😀👍🏻
Ah yeah it sure isn’t worth leader price but it is a nice figure if you can find a way to get a hold of it for a slightly cheaper price. Thanks man as always! :)
@Mike C actually it depend on which country you're buying it from. out here in the Philippines everything is 3x the price of stuff in the US. and if we buy online from the US. the shipping cost is double the price of the item...
Before y’all attack him about stealing this figure, take into fact that figs release early in other countries. It’s out in Asia and in PVPs area so he probably ordered it or got it from stores
Just got it, I’m not allowed to open the box until my birthday though. The cars body paint work is supposed to be stainless steel effect hence the grains, i think this is more attention to detail personally.
On my copy of this figure the back wheels pop of sometimes while I try to put them in the flying position but it is very easy to put back on so i try to do it very carefully but I still like this figure
I was lucky! My mom and I went to the mall to buy important things, when the final part of the mall, I went to GameStop to see some interesting stuff. But I suddenly encounter a Transformers box that has a name Gigawatt, and I’m happy to get one.
@@myriadmediamusings The robot mode should be in a Sgt. Pepper style robot. His weapon maybe a Hofner Bass or Rickenbacker Guitar. I hope its in a Leader or Voyager Class not a deluxe class.
@@direkramseychikboy9102 Was thinking about possible names for a Yellow Submarine Transformer and remembering various Beatles related names, but maybe calling the Yellow Submarine Transformer Pepper, if not outright Sgt Pepper, sounds like the best option.
The real DMC (Delorean Motor Company) model 1 uses a brushed steel chassis. The "ugly paint texturing" mimics the brushed steel to try and capture that aspect.
Ah yeah I get that completely. I’m just not sure if it should have been sculpted in so deeply. I wish they’d painted it in away to replicate that look instead
I have this on preorder from Gamestop Italy since the preorder came out, can't wait to put it near Ectotron. Not caring too much for Maverick, I never watched Top Gun, found a preorder for it but it asked too much money for my tastes. I would LOVE a crossover with KITT from Knight Rider.

as both a bttf and transformers fan, this collab is incredible. unfortunately i'm still waiting on smyths for my pre-order of this thing. ecto-1 is not a hearse, it's an old style ambulance.
Transformation is nice, and I like the Delorean... but I'm not a fan of that face sculpt. Makes me wish I'd picked up a sideswipe and customized it though.
10-13-20 The thing is that Ectotron was designed to be Masterpiece scaled. Gigawatt is just CHUG Scaled. Therefore, the scaling truly was just a happy little accident.
I find the robot mode pretty disappointed. I wish they could use the time machine portion of the car mode into the front part of the robot mode. I was also expecting a little more complex transformation look like something out of a Michael Bay movie. Recycling another transformer for such a special event.... Not my prefered choise.
Wonder if hasbro would make a transformers X batman crossover. A transformer batmobile would be a dream. My expectation would be the arkham knight batmobile
