You poison the Gargoyle at the start and get him low. Afterwards use Equip Slot Manipulation to equip the Cleric Gloves as ammunition (can also do that prior). Then you shoot the cleric gloves and open up the Reinforce Armor menu before they are shot. Wait for the Gargoyle to die and give you a weapon. Then upgrade the Cleric Gloves you just shot and removed from your inventory. The ID of the Cleric Gloves will be written onto the first weapon you got from the Gargoyle, turning it into the Cursed Greatsword of Artorias.
If you plan to attempt this, make sure the Cleric Gloves were the last item added to your inventory. Simply drop them and pick them up again to make sure of that.
