Jack Grey, former Jehovah's Witness elder expounds on the issues of how individuals are trapped by fear based on the teachings of the governing body. He discusses how he woke due to the Watchtower's teaching about the overlapping generation. Jack is good at empowering individuals to use critical thinking when examining the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Jack has been working with the EXJW Empowerment group since its inception. This group is doing a tremendous job in assisting individuals that no longer belong to the organization. cThey have been instrumental in assisting young people to find a place to stay after being put out of their homes because they no longer choose to following the teachings of the Watchtower, Bible & Tract Society.
The EXJW Empowerment group is an excellent resource for former Jehovah's Witnesses who want to move past challenges, disappointments and hurts, and move towards a brand new fulfilling, happy and empowered life.

Once again you have provided a great program. Jack validated all of my feelings of panic, anger, disbelief and shock!! All we gave and gave up for this pathetic cult. Imagine if Korah had his own RU-vid channel! Korah knew Moses better than anyone just about, being his first cousin and all. He knew the problems too within the camp, and how the 'sausage is made' when the judges of Israel met together to discuss problems and concerns within the camp, and how to deal with them. With all Korah knew about Moses, either from gossip going around an isolated group removed from the rest of civilization, (where gossip spreads as fast there as a small congregation in a small town) or, something he witnessed himself that concerned him, Korah could of felt obligated to start up his own channel on RU-vid to voice his concerns. He had to draw the line somewhere, right? And just like JT and all of you, he had to take his stand! Yet, would RU-vid change the way God feels about Moses, or would that change the way YOU feel about him?

I had brunch with my childhood “friend” yesterday after almost 3 years of not seeing her. She’s PIMI, I’m not disfellowshipped so she still contacts me about once-a-year. She and her husband have a photography/videography business mostly for weddings. I asked her what they do when it’s off-season for work. She said they travel to locations in our area where there is “good news” about the religion, take video or photos, to then supply to Warwick to send off to newspapers to basically promote the good side of JW’s. So if they’re helping in regards to the virus, disaster relief, etc. They will put those stories in the papers to show what good people and what a good religion it is. I was speechless. They’re trying to quiet all the noise and the news that makes them look bad with these stories of good deeds. Image is everything to them!

Believe whatever you want to believe, disgree if you want, but stay in the truth. And thus, the PIMO was born. Once your eyes are opened and you know the truth, you MUST act on it, there is no "just stay in". Human beings are simply not programmed to function with such incongruence, we must believe what we're doing otherwise it just doesn't work! And what about when we find out something we were doing or something we believed was totally wrong? We must change! Excellent excellent videos guys. I must say, in general I love the resolve that these brothers from other countries have. They find out the truth about the truth and they act on that, no fence sitting.

This is one of your best interviews ever! It took me YEARS to accept what he says at the 48:03 mark. It is not about intelligence or how smart you are. Some of the most intelligent people I knew when I was in and after, were Jehovah's Witnesses. It was that they (and myself) were not critical thinkers! That part of our brains were shut off. This interview was very therapeutic for my soul. I’ve been out of this wicked cult for three years now and would rather die than go back. I fully empathize with all the emotions that someone experiences once they realize how they’ve been duped by a extremely controlling corporation governed by men, not God. I lost my former wife and children including most of my extended family members and every JW ‘friend’ I once associated with. Depression is real. I manage daily to cope with great anger, frustration, and sadness due to being involved with the JW Cult. Thank you for these videos because it only shores up my belief that the ‘truth’ was never the truth. Critical thinking is essential in order to be FREE!

I AM, I like that name by the way. I’m so sorry to hear that you lost your wife and family over this terribly deceptive cult. That’s terrible. I am praying for you and for them that their eyes will be opened to the real truth and that they will come out of this deception. I thank you so much for you channel. I was raised in the organization and was baptized at the age of 12. I became pregnant at 15 and I was kicked out of my home and all my family members were witnesses, so no one would take me in and I became homeless. I was traumatized. I eventually came back because I needed my family. I was reinstated, but I left the truth a few years later because I just couldn’t forgive what they did to me! I feel ruined from believing in a god! So much has been robbed from me! I have recently came across your channel and it is so comforting to me. Thank you

It is the Truth what is said here b4 I was appointed a ministerial Servant. I asked and Elder what I have to do. Putting more hours to the Hours I put in my Report Sheet. I went from 10hrs to 18 and attending the Meetings/Preachings regularly, then I became Ministarial Servant and more Efforts to become an Elder but after many Researches on Generation, Inspired and 2014 Feb not inspired etc, made me to leave the Organisation with my Family after 37years wasted Years

The more I've listened to Apostate YTubes, the more shocked I am about the shunning. I faded some 40 yrs ago, but no family in the cult, so faced no shunning. I realise now what a soft landing I had. Its only now when I hear these personal stories that it breaks my heart for all my former brothers and sisters - we are all one family now of Apostates - there, I've said it now. I've pasted the label on myself, and I'm perfectly OK with that. Even though I'd faded 40 yrs ago, I thought I was wicked and they still had the Truth - and I used to say so. Then in mid October 2021, I listened to an "Apostate JW" YT with much trepidation. It look 1 hour - 1 short hour, to make me do a 180 degree turn around. Something I NEVER thought would happen. But I'm glad I had the courage to carry on listening. My life changed in that 1 hour. Then reading Crisis of Conscience was the COMPLETE destruction of my ability to EVER go back. I will never be seen in a Kingdom Hall again as long as I draw breath in my body. I am free.

So January 2020 I overcome my fears and clicked the enter bottom, JW and the pandemic. And then BOOM 💣💥. The ARC in Australia, 23.000 cases of child abuse in the USA and so on.

Rev 16 did foretell many would blaspheme..the weight of opposition..social media filled with experiences of how badly some have been treated. It's as if it's deliberate !! 🤔🤔🤔🤔 It's harsh policies !! @Kevin Randall. The Society is brutal. Elders and Circuit Overseers are often brutal. It's about time they understand the laws of sowing and reaping (Hos. 8:7; Gal. 6:7-8). A brutal, scathing letter is what the elders deserve. Your pattern is not unlike that of Jesus. He was gentle and firm with hurting, searching people. He was brutally firm with the hypocrites, AKA the scribes and Pharisees. Congratulations on your freedom! Jesus is the truth!!

It's amazing how scared we all feel when we wake up, I woke up in the pandemic and already had several doubts, but I was always too afraid to ask I had doubts about the generation, about the use of blood fractions, I also didn't like preaching, I was happy with the pandemic and felt guilty for being happy. So I started researching with a lot of fear, after I discovered the lies I entered the zoom link, turned down the volume and watched the "apostate" channels. LOL. @@ExJWCriticalThinker I left in 2019… I was totally devoted to JW till my eyes were opened to the truth about the truth. However I stayed in for three years due to family.. I was sacred that my husband would have divorced me and I was scared of shunning. My nephew at 17 told the family he did not want to be a witness and the family was getting down on him. I remember feeling like I can’t allow this to happen to him. I spoke up on his behalf. I decided to tell my husband that I no longer wanted to attend the meetings. Crying talking screaming I told him… my husband was PIMO and had been for 15 years…. I was shocked… my whole family left 2019…. We are not disfellowship yet but at this point I don’t care! We is free! We is freeeeee🙏🏾…..

@@ExJWCriticalThinker, I started fading in 1998/1999 and completely walked away in 2000. My middle child tried going back in 2002/2003(?) but experienced the hypocrisy and double standards first-hand and left. As JT always says, "Nobody does hypocrisy like Watchtower!" My eldest never accepted it and my youngest happily left it behind, so we are all free of the burden that being a JW puts on you.

@@donnyetta - There are many reasons. Witnesses are never expected to take each other to court. So, bosses will tend to cheat on other Witness employees knowing they will, at most, only go to the elders, who won't do crap. I can give you many examples of people I know who were taken advantage of by fellow Witness bosses.

Another great interview highlighting the fear, mind control and suppression of "thinking ability" (Prov 3:21) by high control groups. This is very current as this weeks WT study (Par 11) instructs JW's to override their natural thinking ability by just accepting direction that "does not make sense to us", and this is enforced with fear of disobedience resulting in death as a result of "the storm coming on the wicked". If Elders applied the same standards to themselves as they did when appointing other elders none of them would be able to serve, which was one of the many issues that led to me discontinuing my association with this organization, appointments seemed to primarily focused on how buddy buddy the brother was with some of the elders in the cong rather than focusing on bible principles.

I've been slowly waking up for the past year now, and very recently I really woke up! Thank you so much for sharing these videos, they are truly an eye-opener, and I totally understand having to restart back to the basics and asking yourself, what is truth? I am a critical thinker, I always have been but I also was blinded by the doctrines and the fears associated with it. I am now on a new path of finding my own peace with my Creator. This year will be a year of reconciliation for me, to come into terms with all that was stolen from me, that being, my time. Again, this was a great podcast! Keep up the great work!! 🤍

One of the best interviews I have seen yet. Very relatable, helpful and informative. I could relate to both Jack’s wife’s reaction as that was me when my husband woke up before me and Jack’s reaction when he woke up and felt his work entirely shattered. I woke up in June 2021. My husband and I have both escaped together with our two little girls. We feel both grateful and very lucky. Now it’s time to rebuild. Thanks JT, Lady Cee and Jack.

I’m awake only recently and am dealing with family shunning. Supposed friends in the congregation dropped me like a hot cake in seconds. Such a cruel mindset. True mind control. I really appreciate this. I studied with the Witnesses in 2015 after independently coming to similar theological beliefs as them on certain issues. I was really excited that they were the "truth" I was looking for, but I couldn't understand why the same critical thinking skills that helped me come to a more accurate understanding of the Bible (on which the Witnesses themselves even agreed) would have to be immediately abandoned after I was baptized! I'm very grateful I didn't make one of the biggest mistakes of my life in joining the organization.

I am grateful I got out, my childhood was ruined, my parents converted when I was 5 years old, took until my late 30's to get help and understanding of my trama from the JW cult. I hope all listen to this group to get the help I didn't have when I was younger.

I truly feel your pain. I am suffering the shunning despite no elder intervention. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time before they call me into accountability. It’s so much more than wrong doing…. No infidelity or such matters. I suffer the loss of my adult son. I smoke and abuse alcohol. I hide myself in shame from them. I hope I never hear from them again. They know the story- maybe out of compassion they hold off. . I hold my breath constantly that they won’t add to my burden. It would devastate my life.

Thank you JT for your interest. I know that a more rational view would be to acknowledge that they do have a somewhat limited effect on my life… they don’t pay my bills but they lord over me the prospect of loosing my family. Already I experience the shunning of close family and friends. Self righteous members that say their devotion to Jehovah is what drives their actions despite their suffering at loosing me. There is no reasoning with them. In fact I could not share my thoughts-- they’re content to accept I’m spiritual weak and have been beaten down by this system. They believe that I should pull it together because of their hope of the resurrection. After 3 years I’m still struggling with my loss.

Martyn Dunn, if you’ll allow me to chime in here, I’d love to answer that question for you… The real path to God is Jesus. Jesus said of himself, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Jesus is the way, and Jesus is the truth. The truth is not some organization, the truth is Jesus. Where in the Bible did it ever say “Belong to this organization and you will be saved”. It Did Not! It said, “…Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved…” (Acts 16:31) Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4:12) That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:10-11) God’s love to you. And I’ll be happy to expound on any of that if you want me to or if you have any further questions. Just let me know.

Absolutely fantastic from Jack Grey. I so also agreed on the psychology aspect. I came out in 1984, no Internet, all my studying from library and I became interested in lateral thinking and all of that. Also liked to read anyway and books like 1984 by George Orwell certainly hit home. But mainly I also read different translations and looked closely at the interlinear NWT. I still believed so went to church for 7 years firstly before taking a closer more indepth look at the bible itself. I am a spiritual person but not religious now. Only thing wt said right for me was religion is a snare and a racket ( judge Rutherford). Lots of love exjw from across the pond. X

Sometimes last year, i told myself, if i did not baptise back in 2010, with what i have seen from that moment afterwards, i wouldn't have gotten baptised afterwards. 1 I don't believe that Jehovah will condemn every human on earth excluding Jehovah's Witnesses. That teaching i always avoided discussing with my BS 2 Every slight achievement, progress and encounter is been attributed to Jehovah, even when you bath in the bathtub successfully, you will hear "we return thanks to Jehovah for bathing successfully " sickening indeed 3 The manner in which they condemn others as worldly makes me sick 4 And when Zoom was introduced for meeting, i began to wonder, This zoom was built by unbelievers, and worldlies, then we suddenly started using it, something of the world. 5 Every profess to be morally clean, but if you go behind the scene and see elders sleeping with elders wife, publishers sleeping with each other, but put on a face of deceit. 6 My mum constantly reminds me that only when you stay in the org that one will succeed, and i asked her, You have hace served Jehovah as a pioneer all your life, why are we very poor and wretched, She kept mute instantly 7 An elder called me one day to admonish me about not leaving Jehovah, because i will not succeed, after talking to me, he turned around to ask me for some money to buy groceries for his household, and i simply declined such request. 8 Whenever i shave clean, bumps makes my face look rough and uneasy, so i hated shaving clean, but when i decided not to, everyone was talking about me, like i have been condemned by Jehovah. Point is, i started fading without me knowing, i lost interest for meetings and everything in the organisation, but suddenly, i bumped into the Rape case in australia, i knew i am done, i have constantly ridiculed my catholic friends and how mischievous their pope cover up rape and sexual abuse, not knowing, ours is hidden and its so disgraceful

Relationship with Our HEAVENLY FATHER is more important than how we were raised in false religion. It is up to us to test the spirits. I hope & pray that false religion doesn't hinder your building a relationship with your FATHER...Which is a free will choice. As a 30+ year disfellowshipped witness, [I asked to be] I choose not to waste my critical thinking abilities, time and energies speaking against what no longer has power over Me. Relationship to ABBA YAH is more important than the religion. 🙏🏽⚔️

Maybe for you it's a waste of time to continue thinking critically about the JW organization after leaving, but for others, it's a productive choice and one that has led to healing and more importantly, creating a community which has helped thousands of people who have been deeply affected by this dangerous cult. They have saved lives. I can't think of a more purposeful way of living. Furthermore, dismissing the massive amount of psychological and emotional distress that so many face by growing up in a false religion just because your perspective is to work on a relationship with God is arrogant.

I was raised JW and was faithful, and active for 36 years. Inactive for nearly a decade before waking up, I have officially disassociated. For myself, that has led me out of religion and I have no belief in God. I am happier than ever and I have peace in my life. I run a support group online with 1,000 members for those who have left cults. My sharing my truth and helping others heal from their cult experiences and abuse is not a waste of my critical thinking abilities, time and energies. It is always a good thing to speak truth from love and help others. I am happy you are happy in your particular path. How wonderful once free from cult indoctrination we can follow our own heart and listen to the wisdom within each of us

I wish there were people like you guys in my area of CA. What broke the camel's back for me was JT's video about, alternative service, the generation that will not die, and I think the other topic is blood. God would never ruin people's lives, only Satan would do such a thing, then taunt Jehovah about how sinful and stupid his creation is. After that video I could never step foot into another congregation meeting or memorial ever again.
