Fully support your comments on set design. I have been using multiple sides to backdrop setups for some years and the versatility they offer for posing and shooting angles without the need to worry about what is in the background is very significant.

Yes thanks to Adorama, where I purchased my gear for the last four years. I don't know about anyone else, but it seems as if every RU-vid video I watch, I get to "enjoy" the annoying advertisements of the other NY camera gear company. I'm sure they are nice folks there. Ab, I love the idea of magnetic gel holders! Thanks again...

You weren't kidding about a maze! A maze ing haha. Love the setup, I currently have a home studio in my garage, but when it gets blazing hot outside that is sometimes not a great location so I've been looking at options for a smaller space turning a bedroom into a spot to shoot.
@AbSesayPhoto
@AbSesayPhoto Год назад
Thank you Ozarks. Garages are a great place to shoot. 12x12 is a decent space, and ceiling height is most important in many situations, but it all depends on the type of photography you do for sure.

Wow. So much knowledge packed into this 1 video. Thank you very much. The new Phottix Softbox seems very versatile. Great invention, especially with the Gel holder. Since I saw they have a "G-Capsule Round Softbox" and a "G-Capsule Parabolic Deep Softbox". May I ask what's your take on them, Ab? Not sure which one I should get :-) Thanks in advance for your help!
@AbSesayPhoto
@AbSesayPhoto Год назад
I have not done side by side testing, I can say the Large Octa is not in my kit, when I need a do it all for working on location. I think with the Deep it will be if you want a narrower angle of light. Or the small deeps work really well if your looking for a nice light in between softbox and a traditional 50 degree reflector.

Great tips Ab. Photix has some pretty innovative and interesting stuff. What about a space approx 10' x 10' with 8' ceilings? What would be your recommendation for a space like that?
@AbSesayPhoto
@AbSesayPhoto Год назад
The second setup would fit in a 10x10 I would just go with the Medium or Large size backdrops vs the XL which are 8.9" and the light will be touching our ceiling, but the Phottix G-Gapsule 105c i'm using should work as well.

Hi Addis, i was at Iso 100, shutter 1/124 of a second and mostly F4-5.6 the whole shoot.

Great Video Ab, may I ask if the Gravity Backdrops are primed on the painted side of the canvas or is it just raw unprimed canvas & then painted in the grey paints ? Also do you know how many ounces the actual canvas is (ie: 12 ounces or 14 ounces etc. ?). I'm based in Australia so its hard to know these details without seeing them in person, thanks again keep up the good work !
@AbSesayPhoto
@AbSesayPhoto Год назад
They use a 300gsm Canvas and some of the Canvas are primed and others are not, it depends on the final effect they are looking to achieve.
@alhowse

anywhere to buy used gravity backdrops??
@AbSesayPhoto
@AbSesayPhoto Год назад
To my knowledge no, but I guess you could ask a photographer who owns one if they are willing to part with one. The do hold up very well.

Why Every Professional Photographer Uses a Canon Camera ? What the reason behind it ? Plz give me actual answer. I want to know, and I have seen most of the professional photographers uses at last canon. Please suggest me the answer.
@AbSesayPhoto
@AbSesayPhoto Год назад
Hi Jayant I dont have the answer to this, and a professional I have used Mamiya, Canon, Leaf and Fuji as my main cameras over the years, I think when it comes to full from Canon, Nikon and Sony are all used by professional photographers.

"Let's take advantage of small spaces" -- uhm, what? If the setups in this video are what Adorama considers to be a "small space" I can't *wait* to see what you consider a large space to be.
@AbSesayPhoto
@AbSesayPhoto Год назад
Sorry, I'm just seeing this one TIm. Please don't blame Adorama, I shoot in a larger space, but it allows me to produce the video by doing the bird's eye shots and allowing you to see the setups from all sides, but the backdrops you are seeing are no more 8.9 ft wide or smaller and I belie these ideas would scale. The second setup would fit in pretty much fit in any space and both would easily fit in a 12x12 foot area. For the first one, you would simply use a wall vs the V-Flat. Remember to always look at the technique and then scale it to the space. These would both work in a 12z12 foot area with 8.5ft ceilings. You can also always purchase smaller backdrops.
