I have watched a lot of beginners turorials on electronics, because I really want to learn about it. Yours are by far the best, as far as how to understand, when you are totally new at this. Thank you for that. The only downside, which is a small one, is sometimes in the end of a sentence you tend to mumble the last few words. And for some one like me, who is not a native english speaking person, I have to go back and listen again sometimes. Otherwise, as I said what you teach, and how you do it is really, really good. So thank you for your time.

Yeah I do try not to mumble but I still do it. I'm native English from the North West so I speak with an accent from that area. Click CC on the YT viewer then turn on subtitles. This will give you English subtitles but if you like you can then go to Settings in the YT player and chose auto-translate to whatever language you like

Great video and I really like the way you present it, my electronics teacher could have learned a lot from your style of presentation, very relaxed and easy to understand, would have made learning a whole lot easier for me. Incidentally, in all of my years of pursuing this hobby I have never seen electrolytic capacitors as long as the ones at timestamp 1:05:21 Only 47uF at 450volt but quite a length! What is this psu board from I wonder?

I've just found your channel and your tutorial is very very informative I just recently managed to break a motorbike and CDI unit is failing I've come to the conclusion the two transistors are faulty. the serial number that was easy to understand and find but above that number is a 4- n when looking for other transistors I'm finding the numbers above are 7n or 5n what is the significance of this thank you

Great video. For the B-E when transistor is in off state the expected resistance for BE should be big since it is not forward bias. Am I right?

I really like your videos, in particular this series on bipolar transistors! At the end you mention a series on MOSFETs. Am I too stupid to find it or was this series planed but not done yet? In the latter case, it would be really really cool if you could do such videos in the future! :-)

my meter is acing weird it has a continuety mode and diode mode. its weird it doesnt beep when i test transistors anymore? think its battery it didnt show any signs of low battery

After all your transistor vids i still had no clue on how to BIAS a transistor. All you said was to BIAS it properly and that there can't be more than .6v at the base else it would burn out so i'm thinking that you can only stick .6v at the base (which is stupid really). I looked at biasing vids by others and pretty much the same thing - to just BIAS it without any other info. It was not until the end of this video in the test bit that i saw you can actually have more than .6v at the base (4v in example). You need to make a decent vid (short) on transistor biasing and typical values, as collector and emitter voltages are always stated but the voltage at the base never is.

its not actually the voltage from the Base to ground that matters, but the voltage from the Base to the Emitter, that must not exceed the 0.7 Voltage drop. In this video he biased the Base to 4V using a Voltage Divider, but he had another resistor from the Emitter to ground, which is basically connected in series with the BE junction. Now, like any silicone junction (diode, LED, Transistor), the BE junction will only enough voltage to make it work, which in this case is 0.7V and the rest, the 3.3V have to drop somewhere else, which will be that Emitter resistor.
