Ford loves doing it the hard way engineering.Another example is the 2004 to 2008 F150s,top 3rd starter bolt.Have to go by feel and cannot see it getting to it
Any chance you can provide some clarity on how you got the air out of it? So you turned it on to get it hot (with the radiator cap off) and topped off the coolant, took it for a short drive and topped off the coolant again?
Sometimes they clear the air pretty easily and sometimes you have to loosen a clamp near a heater hose and use a small screw driver to create a gap for air to escape. Then heat cycling will help to see if all the air is purged. If the heater and cooling fan blow hot air it’s good to go. Even the. I’ll let it cool enough to recheck the coolant level.
My favorite long reach pliers are Crescent or Gearwrench double hinged. For hose clamps I also have a double hinged pliers. Should be in my Amazon store.

I have owned my fair share of Fords over the years, but I've been officially cured for a few years now. I would never buy this thing lol. Anyone calling mechanics thieves obviously has never turned a wrench. I've been mechanicing all my life on some level, and things just get more and more complicated. If you want to rattle mouth the dealerships or manufacturers go for it, but don't disparage the technician. I think a lot of this overly complicated and stupid engineering is definitely on purpose so that the everyday DIYer can't fix their own vehicle and the dealership can bill a certain amount of hours. It is totally unnecessary to engineer things the way they have been doing it in recent years. The mechanic/technician has to go to school and constantly get more training on systems as they evolve, not to mention the cost of tools and equipment to do the job. It's also Hell on your body! Yep, totally uneasonable that you can't pay a guy $4.00 an hour and get free parts for your car lol.
