Thought I would give the trans fluid change a shot before having to drop the it. Unfortunately it still grimnding in second gear. another thing to add to the list. Like & Subscribe to see what we do next.

is there a reason you didn't remove the fill plug first? I've always removed the fill plug first. "just incase' the fill plug is stripped, siezed or whatever so you're not stranded, more important for older cars like this situation. luckily you got it with 2 hands

Underbody looks pretty good for a higher mileage car. Hate that you still have a bit of a grind, thinking synchros?

That's what it's looking like. Trans more than likely coming down. It's torn apart right now waiting on some parts to arrive for vvt replacement.

How tight did you tighten your drain plug and fill, is it the same? Like hand tight, idk the specs, I will eventually change my fluids in a couple weeks.

Snug it down. It has a crushed washer so doesn't need to be crazy tight.

You can hit up a local Mazda and purchase some new crushed washers too.
