Transmission electrical problem. Chevrolet Malibu 2013 model, drive start at 3rd gear and no shifting. Repair TCM without buying new parts,don't waste huge amount of money for new module and for programing.repair it to minimize the cost.
Great work. I had same issue. I replaced TCM. It came with a reprograming tool. It was $240. 2011 chevy malibu Ltz, 2.4 ecotec. Everyone said to get a new transmission haha. But if I would have seen your video I would have even more money. Great job 👏👏
Hi Dav Cav I have 2010 chevy malibu And have no reverse and forward only to second gear. The code PO776 says it’s the solenoid issue. Where did you get the TCM Hoping they have for my vehicle Any help will be appreciated Thanks in advance
Really learned a lot from this video. I would really like Bilal's input. I have 2015 Cadillac SRX only 60k miles that is shifting harshly/ vehicle jerking. I just took it out from the bodyshop after buying it at auction. Anyway, when i checked the transmission fluid after already driving it 25 miles, it was low. I bought Dextron IV ATF to fill it but then decided to use Lucas Transmission Fix fluid instead - it is a lot thicker/ viscous than ATF. i used about 36 fl oz/ 1.2 liter ( 1.5 24 oz bottles). Now it is overfilled. The first two days the jerking was happening but it seemed less and less. Then I drove the car during the afternoon when it was really hot outside and it was jerking/ hard shifting a lot. Jerks at around 9 mph speed mostly such as when pulling in and out of parking lots Have I damaged it my filling with extra and thicker fluid? Do you think replacing solenoid like your video will fix it? Is driving it around gonna damage it?
Okay sir first we need is to make scan or check for any DTC on your transmission.. possible problems was damage pressure switch membrane..need to scan so that we can pin point the exact problem..Lucas for transmission component slipping or overheating it will not fix the jerking and harsh shift
@@pjbandal I wish you were here in Dallas, brother Bilal. What is DCT? Since the harsh shift only happens when shifting 1to 2, you think changing solenoid may help?
My goodness, what a great video. I am wondering if I buy the solenoid pack only and replace that instead of the whole TCM if that would work and if i wouldn't need to reprogram it since i would keep the same computer?
You did a Good job there, I have a question tho, after you have changed the solenoid, did you do some programming for it? Or the replaced solenoid has the same serial number for the other one?
Good afternoon I have a 2011 Equinox Ls engine 2.4 L think it has the same type of transmission It only does 2 gears forward and reverse... The scanner tells me that solenoid 3 is stuck but I already cleaned them and it continued the same. My questions are : Can I exchange the solenoids to see if it is a problem with the solenoids? Clean them and change the oil but put them in the same place. Check resistance of coils 4 ohms 123 567 and 18.5 ohms on 4 (the one in the center) The other question is... If the tcm is damaged, can you send me the code for the stuck solenoid even though all the solenoids are fine? Thank you in advance for your support and attention.
my chevrolet cruze drives well when it's still cold, i get output speed sensor circuit and solenoid E problems when I check it after driving like 15 minutes, of course shifting problems as well, hot weather in Thailand yeah.
@@Queeshandle have you had it inspected or anything? I recently had someone look at mine and got told it would need to be rebuilt. Im just wondering if a rebuild is necessary tho; I’m thinking what if it’s just the solenoids or the TCM that needs to be replaced
@@Noob.master6969 yes. I already got the transmission inspected and apparently looks good. Today, Im taking my car to an auto electrician to check wiring and stuff. They’re mostly sure that the TCM isn’t working right .
@@Queeshandle are you getting any engine codes? Also when you say your transmission got inspected, do you mean that they took everything apart and looked at it?

Some time its work normally, Fluide changed with past owner, i think he put atf ||| instade of dexron vi, cause i found empty can in the trunk, do you think if i replaced the fluide the problem will be solve?thanks for prehelp 🙏
I have a Korean Chevrolot Cruze 2009 I have the same problem but my mechanic tells me to change full tcm and not solenoids, if I have to change solenoids should I need to buy specificily the solenoids of my year model car or any solenoids can be put, please let me know

Hi sir. Fault code: P2714-00, Pressure control solenoid valve 4 stuck off, as showing in the computer scan. They tried to relearn but after same issue is coming back. I have the code P0815 it is a GMC terrain 2010 v6 change the plates of the switches to the valvebody and finish the job but half counts that the manual speeds do not work for me and when the transmission oil heats up my transmission slips very little in first gear speed been in automatic and I have that code help me please what could it be

I just replace my transmission in my 2012 Chevy Cruze 1.8l and had it reprogram be for the reprogram it had 1,2,3 no 4,5,6 and reverse and after the reprogram now it have 3,4 and reverse no 1,2,5,6 the transmission I toke out was a 1st generation transmission and the one I put back in is a 2ed generation is there a difference in the to transmission's
Hi dear, My Malibu 2011 LT car (170k km) showing some issues regarding the Transmission gear. The R and D both would not engage and work propoly until I press the accelerator more to reach higher RPM then this would typically push the car to move. The diagnostic shows the following code: P0990:00 (Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) switch 5 circuit high voltage. The transmission oil was replaced when it was 160k km (this time when the car showed R and D issues). What can be the reason(s) behind this? Do you think the filter has to be replaced? In your opinion, what is the best, to buy new Transmission gear or to fix this? Cheers, Ibrahim
@@requiem2803 Dear Hossam, I fixed the issue, it was the filter plus there was another internal filter which was broken as well. In addition to this, there was a small broken ring-like shape object. The car is working fine now. However, I recommend replacing the whole transmission gear if it is cheap in your region. Fixing it is not always successful and cost nearly as much the price of buying another (used but like new) gear.

Are all of the yellow solenoids interchangeable? I realize the pattern of black yellow yellow shift yellow black black is important but I’m just wondering if the yellow in the 5th position and the yellow in the 3rd position could be switched and the function would still be the same
Does this mean the black ones are interchangeable also? I ordered a whole new set and wanted to make sure it wasn't an issue before I put them in. Thanks

@@pjbandal I just now saw that you replied, brother. Inshallah, I will give you a call... My 2015 Cadillac SRX kicks at 8 mph ( so going from 1st to 2nd gear) and now possibly developing issues at other speeds... I still was able to drive 12000+ miles since I started driving it...

It seems that you have a bad harness, check first the wire for ssA and resistance of the solenoid.if all was fine try to make reset the DTC and make adaptation.

after clean tge valve body of cruze and also all solonoid and change oil i reibstall everything. engine is running, TCM not give any error but the car dont move in D or R. only i got input speed reading but no output speed. Can you give me any hint of cause of this problem?
Check the PRNDL it's working when you move the lever?check the fluid viscosity? smells burn?when you open the front cover of transmission you find anything debris?like crack plastic .. somotime the buffles was broken and clogged into filterand it will not engage in any gear
I have Chevrolet Cruze 2012; I had my Engine head and pistons replaced some time ago and after that I am facing transmission trouble. My car while going above 100 Km/h suddenly downshifts sometimes. Below 100 Km/h, it works good and above 100 Km/h the issue isn't happening always, only sometimes and after travelling more than 25 - 30 Km. Can you suggest what is the issue. P1844 is for transmission fluid pressure sensor A, posibble cause low fluid level or clogged filter, dirty transmission fluid.. First check the level of fluid then if you haven't change fluid try to replace fluid filter and make a reset on the scantools..

@@requiem2803 good day,as you said the only problem was delay engagement if you put in drive. no problem about the ATF.try to maka adaptation for the transmission..still the problem exist need to replace pressure switch of the tcm
