Transphobia is mostly recycled homophobia, and now an anti-trans group are claiming that trans people are leading to lesbians becoming extinct. Please check out the petition in the pinned comment!
Please can we also drop some love & support for trans women, especially those who are lesbians, in light of this article!! Transphobes: As you all know, I lost all my lesbians this year... Lesbians: QUIT TELLING EVERYONE IM DEAD! Transphobes: Sometimes I can still hear their voices!
As someone who gets flustered around just. Hot people in general. I am definitely not a confused lesbian. I'm friends with a very nice lesbian and she just doesn't feel the same way about that one guy's arms as we can commiserate about wanting to be stepped on by that one girl.

especially since I believe more trans people are bi than any other sexual orientation, so like why do all these transphobes act like all trans men are only attracted to women lol and are therefore victimized lesbians
For every trans man, there are roughly 28 lesbians, which to me means that every trans man shall get personal body guards made up of lesbians. Edit: ANY GENDER/SEXUALITY CAN BE A BODYGUARD! WE ARE NOT HOMO/TRANSPHOBES HERE! WE WILL NOT DISCRIMINATE! ANYONE CAN PROTECT OTHERS!
@@jojobeetch I don't think there are enough lesbian trans women to satisfy every trans man with 28 lesbian trans woman body guards, but as long as it's not too much effort, it can be arranged.
"it almost feels like we've got no rights at all". NGL though, without giving lesbians some safe and secure land to roam free without worry, we might go extinct. give lesbians land, support your local lesbian refuge today! visits available to all who donate. transphobe donations will not be accepted.
Okay, I get where they're coming from with the "I would have transitioned if I had grown up in this environment" thing. Like, you're an insecure teenage girl and you don't seem to fit in with the other girls at all, you like women and not men, you don't like any of the "girly" stuff people may expect you to like/do, you don't feel feminine, you don't WANT to feel feminine, you hate your body anyway (because you're a teenager, so obviously you do), you might crave being part of the Guys because that seems to suit you more, but they don't want you as part of their group and so you're sad and alone. I get it. I was all of that. I'm even on the autism spectrum, which is something they also love to claim makes young women confused about their gender. BUT, I didn't transition. Never even considered it. And i did grow up in this environment. The most accepting family and friends imaginable. Watching trans content creators online all the time. Getting proper education on trans issues (partially from researching myself). We even had a trans girl in the year above me in high school and everybody accepted her, it was great. And all of that didn't lead me to mistakenly transition. And I think that, for the vast majority of the people saying that, it wouldn't have either. Because there's a difference between being a socially awkward lesbian and, you know, *being a guy*.
Yeah! Wanting to be one of the guys is one thing, wanting to actually have your body masculinise is a completely different thing. Also as a lesbian myself, who's gone through male puberty, if you actually are a lesbian - 0/10 would not recommend (obviously this doesn't apply to trans men but they're not lesbians). You don't want to IMAGINE how much Testosterone will ruin your ability to have lesbian sex. It's hell.
I'm bisexual and I don't complain about people, who identified as bisexual, outing themselves as gay or lesbian later in their lives. Who gives a fuck about how many people are in these groups? Our goal should be, that we're treated with respect - not that there are as many of us as possible.
@@coolworms7297 TERFs really are. There are several TERF groups on Tumblr, Reddit, & FB that actively say they want to exterminate trans people. I hope they're not indicative of the whole, but the standard TERF screeds aren't making me optimistic.
@@ethanwayingerspray7402 HOLY FUCK I'M GETTING OLD! It took me 4 days to realize what your comment meant... Jesus Chist, I'm really not up to date with the current memes and whatnot...
I as a lesbian like women. Transbians too. All of them. The pre OPs too. You are all beautyful. And to all the trans men who used to identify as lesbians: you are valid and don't let anyone be mad at you because of the way you are.
God I'm getting flashbacks to "I'm not homophobic, *BUT* The Gays™ will cause humanity to go extinct because nobody's gonna have babies anymore." Also every time somebody equates "more people are coming out" to "there's more of them now" I think of that one tweet that went like "just because everest was 'discovered' in 1852 doesn't mean it wasn't there before"
Ya damn right! Not to mention the fact that claiming LGBT+ people will cause humanity to go extinct implies that bisexual people, pan people, polysex people, omnisexual people, etc don't exist and we in fact do.
The most unfortunate thing about Jamie's videos is that they use logic and facts and are made for intelligent people, and sadly the vast majority of people who need to hear what he's saying are simply . . . not.
Saying there's an increase in trans people is like when anti-vaxers claim that there is a huge increase in autistic people. Actually there are just more people being diagnosed because the criteria have broadened, including people like myself who got diagnosed as adults.
Right! Just because we are recognizing a group more doesn’t mean they are coming out of nowhere in large numbers. They were always here but hidden/ignored
I was literally just about to use Autism as an example, thank you! Like bruh I'm not autistic because of a measles vaccine, I'm autistic cuz my brain formed a lil' differently in the womb. My sister got the same needles I did and she's not autistic so like, what's your argument now??
It's more that people are being diagnosed for autism around the age that they get their first vaccines (2-5), but you're right that the criteria has broadened.
I saw so many people pushing this same idea when Elliot Page recently came out and it's just like, can we just leave him alone? Can we let him celebrate figuring something about himself without acting like this very personal development is some sweeping blow to the lesbian community? Bless all the lesbians showing solidarity with their trans siblings right now. 💖
The detransition suddenly from going through it in a short time thing annoys me because I've seen friends who struggled to get their stuff to help transition over years and it wasn't easy so the thought they think you can be "forced" through such a long process quickly annoys me.
I once told a guy who was being a transphobe that he can't have the lgbtq+ flag as his profile since the T stands as trans. He changed his profile Pic.
Interesting fact about trans women, some actually do experience periods, just without the blood, hormones will cause cramping and occasionally mood swings
It gets me super mad when people try to ban puberty blockers for "making kids trans" when there are people who take puberty blockers for medical reasons. A cousin of mine began puberty around 8 years old, and took puberty blockers to slow the onset so she'd be mentally ready for it. She's now 13, honestly just living her best young teen life. It didn't make her trans. It made her feel far more comfortable in her body. Or is that not what the anti-trans people want?
@George Sommer that's got nothing to do with what I said, so... Wrong comment? My cousins' not trans, she was born a girl, and she's always been happy being a girl. She just developed super young, and delayed that development so she was more mentally ready for it. Which is literally your point.
Jammie: It's common sense that as something becomes less discriminated against and more accepted that more people are going to be open about having that identity. My mum who won't let me transition cause of the "increase of ftm trans people": o:
my mums one of those terfs who's like "trans? nahhh- you're just a lesbian sweetie" even though im literally a trans, *gay* guy 💀💀 i honestly just find it funny at this point bc i really didn't think people can actually be that dumb 🕴️
@@FearFreddyKrueger ok? but having a penis shouldn't be equated with being a man and liking penis shouldn't be equated with being a gay man if trans women can keep their penises
I just came out as a lesbian (after 6 years of identifying as bi) so ughm NO WE AREN'T GOING EXTINCT?? It baffles me but it's not surprising that a minority group tries to push another one down to feel superior. I support my trans siblings with all my heart, and I'm glad more lesbians do too. That hate group doesn't speak for us!
Lesbian here. Apparently myself and all my lesbian friends are an endangered species now, who knew? Lol. Perhaps they think we're disappearing simply because we choose not to associate with transphobes? For the majority of us, transgender men and women will always be a welcome part of the LGBT community ❤
@@SpikeyBagel Idk. I thought he was demoted. Maybe it was him though, seeing as we demoted him to paper shredder....... maybe not the best call. Well, time to call them. *Screeching of the lefties.*
Noooooooooooooooo..... I’m already ugly, shy, can’t get a girlfriend, there rarely are lesbians who even notice that I am one of them... AND NOW THERE GOING EXTINCT
The transphobes claiming lesbians are going extinct are using the same "argument" as Straight People™ who say gay people will drive humanity to extinction.
It's always sad but somehow fascinating how a group of people, who have been opressed themselves starts to become oppressors. They're just using the same shit that had been thrown at them. And learning more about transpeople and their experiences has actually made me thinking more about my own gender identity and what it means to identify as cis, for example. It helped me starting to think on this actively, so thank you Jamie and others who share their experiences, because all of us can learn from it (and of course find the proper representation they need ❤️).
I like that they say the number of trans people are “increasing” when the number of lesbians are “increasing” too. (I put increasing in quotations because there probably were always that many, just not open to/about it)
Since the amount of humans is increasing and an estimated 4-20% of the population is lgbtq+, the number of lgbtq+ people is increasing. I should probably quit smartassing around and grant that you were probably talking about the share of lgbtq+ people.
@@julzbehr6696 Honestly I'm pretty sure a majority of humanity is bi, but they just don't know it (except for those who already do) yet because of heteronormativity.
“lesbians are going extinct” the whole comment section of Magnet: *allow us to introduce ourselves* edit: i may or may not have been listening to fukase’s and len’s cover of magnet when jamie uploaded
Transphobes don’t seem to understand that sexuality is varied among trans people. Not all of us are straight trans men or trans lesbians. For example, I’m a trans woman with absolutely no attraction to women whatsoever.
I'm a cis woman. I learned about trans people in middle school. I was unhappy, so I wondered if I was nonbinary. I expirimented with my pronouns and gender expression, and discovered that feminine expression, more feminine than I had previously expressed, made me happiest. From my personal experience, Cis people only stand to benifit from trans awareness.
I love hearing the PASSION with which you speak about these topics, Jaime!! Thank you for tackling these issues that crop up with REASON and REFERENCES. I can't tell you how it fills my heart to see your footnotes referencing specific articles and documentation. Always love these more serious analysis videos. Thank you. 💖
"If we teach our kids about trans people, they'll think its okay to become trans and become trans!" Yes, Shelly, because if we teach the kids that black people are okay and to treat them like normal people, our kids are going to become black.
The left-handed tidbit is a brilliant way to paint this picture. I'd never thought of that one, and I'm totally going to be using it every time I find myself talking about the rise in trans folk coming out. Which is constantly. I find myself here. Constantly. Lol, thanks!💜
Hi Jammie. I found your channel about a week ago, and I just want to thank you for the wonderful content. You seem like a super kind person, even in the face of unimaginable cruelty. I wish you and Shaba the best! 🌺
"Not focusing on the T." My brain was like tea w/ milk and sugar, tea as in AAVE, and finally trans people. Especially emabarassing bc I am trans. I just really need a cup of tea right now.
Here’s what I know…as a bi woman, I’m sexually attracted to biological men and biological women. Anyone of any preference and sexuality can choose the partners they want, full stop! To me it is NOT transphobic!
I mean, i kinda understand if you don't want to date a trans person for multiple reasons. But not dating someone just because they're trans, even if you cannot tell the difference between cis people and that trans person is kinda wrong tbh
As an older gay man, I’m very sorry this type of discrimination is coming from our community which should know better than most that this is unacceptable. I’m also embarrassed to admit that I myself took far too long in full Acceptance of the trans community. Social media creators such as yourself helped educate me and helped me to understand. Keep fighting the good fight and you will teach other people like myself to be better.
Well you've seen the light, so good for you. I wish my sister and her wife would wake up. They're transphobic and my firstborn is a trans enby. As long as we keep learning, there is hope. Have a lovely day. 💐
dude don’t even sweat it, i’m a trans woman and i can understand that something new to you like this can take time to accept especially with people all over the news and other platforms depicting trans people to be evil and scary, what matters now is that you support us and i’m very happy to have you as a supporter :)
Uhh, I stumbled across a forum of "lesbians" a few days ago where they were like "only afab people can be here, if you're not afab you can't be here" why, just why
I really appreciate that you show us your references/sources and mark them well. And in general your videos are very clear, the way you explain things. Thanks :)
I am a transman and I never identified as a lesbian. When I was younger I knew I was different and I looked up lesbian stuff but I just knew it was not me because I liked guys. I have a few lesbian friends...more than I have guy or trans friends actually. They have been very supportive of me. *Signed
It makes me laugh how they think that all trans men are ‘confused lesbians’. I was never a lesbian before I came out as trans so jokes on them really lol
Ugh I hate that people like Arielle are being transphobic with all of this like come on we’re supposed to be helping one another not complaining that “lesbians are going extinct!” No, because if they’re trans and hetero then they weren’t lesbians to begin with ugh 🤦♀️ . It’s such a cis-het thing to do to be like “ugh! Everyone’s ____ now! No one is ever _____!” As a lesbian, I just want to say not all of us are like this. -Lovingly, your local liberal lesbian
I always love your commentary, Jamie. You're so good at making the shitty ridiculous things some people spout into something entertaining and educational. And as a gay trans man who never identified as a lesbian, and who has an openly lesbian sister, this is especially funny to me.
