Also, people like that only include bisexuals when it's to speak for them and pretend we're in agreement when most of the time they are also stupidly biphobic.
So is “Periodt” a common typo that two separate commenters made in the same comment section, or is this a meme or code I’m unaware of? (Also, this one is edited and it’s still there, so I’m guessing the latter?)
Oh, I always thought it was, "When life gives you lemons, put them in a tennis ball shooter at high speed and aim it at transphobes!" but yours works, too
Clearly vice versa isn’t an issue “A guy can’t dress up like a girl, because it’s degrading to be a girl” (I’m paraphrasing because I can’t remember the exact quote)
And recently, like within the last month of me posting this comment, there was a story of teen cishet boys barging into a girls bathroom on a school campus to harass and abuse them, and when the girls fought back THEY GOT SUSPENDED AND THE BOYS GOT *NOTHING*!!!! If it was REALLY an argument about dangerous guys going into girls spaces then this story would have ended with the BOYS being punished. But it's not about perverts dressing as girls.... BECAUSE THEY DON'T NEED TO! THEY CAN LITERALLY JUST WALK INTO ANY WOMEN'S BATHROOM THEY LIKE AND FACE 0 CONSEQUENCES!!!!!! *grumbles in frustrated nonbinary*
"If any man can claim to be a woman and access women's spaces, then this is a threat to women and girls" So you're not worried about the trans women, you're worried about the predatory cis men. Gotcha.
They act as if all criminal behavior is stored in the penis and balls, and that anybody who's a woman or female (or both, whoever) can never be criminal or at least the "really bad criminals." Excuse them, but have they seen how aggressive women can be? In particular cis women. If anything, we should all be fighting for better protection against *any* rapists/harassers/criminals, and not blaming everything on one body type or one genotype/phenotype.
Fact: assaults by "trans women" against real women in prisons has skyrocketed since this movement started. Men claim to be women, get tranfered, and then rape a bunch of women! Same thing is happening in bathrooms in the "real" world! Predators are claiming to be trans just to be more predatory.
Here are some incorrect statements: - People assigned female at birth can only be attracted to people assigned male at birth - People assigned male at birth can only be attracted to people assigned female a birth - All men are born with testis and a penis - All women are born with ovaries and a vagina - People born with intersex variations always need to have surgery to “fix” their bodies All these statements have been scientifically proven wrong. Have these LGB transphobes forgotten that the very same argument about “biological sex” was once (and in some places still are) used against them the same way they’re now using it against trans folks? Honestly, LGB transphobes (and homophobic/bi-phobic trans people) really baffles me. And so the LGB and the T are just different sides of the same coin (society’s made up beliefs about “men” and “women”)...so in my opinion they absolutely belong together
Amen! We All absolutely belong together! Just because we're different from each other doesn't make us any less with the same goal, actually. And well said!
Exactly, who many cis woman are born without ovaries or part of the typical female reproductive organs? Or never have periods during their lifes? One thing trans-phobes use a lot do descriminate against trans woman is that don't have periods/can give birth, so they aren't real woman. Like, there are a huge number of cis women that can't biological be mothers, so that argument also descriminates against a big part of cis women and not only trans ones.
Idk if anyone else wants to see Jamie do this video, BUT I have an idea that would help a lot of ppl. Could you make a video with the basic explanation of trans and enby info, how it works, and the experience of a trans person? I have friends and family that I want to educate and explain the basics and how to respect pronouns and stuff, but it’s hard to explain on the spot and a video I could send ppl and show my family and friends would be super helpful for them to understand from someone who is qualified to educate on the topic. Love you Jamie!
That's the thing that gets me! It's like, hey TERFs, do you hate trans people so much you're willing to side with a people who'd happily throw you under the bus too? Are you seriously expecting to sit down for a nice chat with this jerkoff who hates women and gay people, and to walk away thinking you've won anything?
Thing is...biology is a lot more complicated than xy and xx chromosomes. Biological sex is as much a spectrum as gender identity. Even within the male category, we have cis men who grow breasts during puberty. And ciswomen who grow epic beards. That doesn't even include the intersex community whose chromosome combinations are quite varied. There is no one way to be intersex, nor to have female reproductive systems nor to have male reproductive systems. The world was never either or, nor black/white nor male/female.
@@hayneda100 Hold up, I'm actually an idiot. Idk why I read the comment differently the first time. For some reason, my brain didn't pick up on the adjective part. My bad
@@JudyPenmanOnline Two quick question: What do you think determines biological sex, and why do you think it's more important than gender? (I apologise if I have misunderstood your views for that last question.)
@@JudyPenmanOnline I'm not sure how you (as in, specifically you, not just people in general) define what makes someone biologically male or female, so I can't really discuss that part. A trans women may not understand exactly what it's like to be a cis woman, but they generally have an understanding that they are women even if they are AMAB (which stands for 'Assigned Male at Birth', if you don't know), and I believe they will generally start to experience the sexism you are talking about once they start to socially and physically transition. However, I don't think that's the point of this. If it makes them happier and doesn't cause harm to anyone else (although mental anguish caused to transphobes doesn't count) then I think that's enough. Also, I've personally never heard of an instance where the existence and rights of trans people (ideology isn't the right term) has infringed on women and their rights. Do you have a source? (I've heard that more US senators have been arrested for public indecency (or some similar crime) in bathrooms than trans people, but I don't have a source, so take it with a grain of salt. Also, if any trans people want to correct me on my terminology or how I describe something, please let me know!)
She's like "Men might consult multiple gender counselors, adopt an appearance potentially putting her life at risk, take medication with possible irreversible effects and endure life-changing, expensive not to forget painful surgery...just to use women's changing rooms." Not to be vulgar, but there are easier ways to get up to that kind of mischief.
@@ericme4767 exactly, if a cis man wants to get into a woman's bathroom or whatever, there are far less complex ways to do that, example: *just fucking walking in through the door*
All manipulative rhetoric and no evidence. Shows like this that are engineered to reinforce the preexisting fear and bias of the viewer are so sickening. They act like their incomplete and misleading perspectives are so obvious, and its really sad to think how many people took what they said at face value without looking into it further.
Cis people: trans people are gonna follow me into the bathroom and harass me!! Also cis person: *follows me into the bathroom to harass me* So I guess it's alright when it's the other way around 🙄
As your (wannabe) grandmother, I really wish you’d stay away from people who only know negativity and hate. Faux News is a cesspit. Aww I love this comment so much. It made me laugh and think of my very cool grandma on my dad's side, I think you are quite similar. (Faux news, I love it 🤣🤣🤣)
@@justacreecher428 honestly that is my favorite point to use against TERF arguments. It's so stupid. Most animals don't adhere to the binary that TERFs believe in, the binary is entirely different from what they think it is and yet they choose to ignore the science so they don't "lose" the argument as if they ever made a single good point. Basically they're just ignorant and disrespectful.
As a gay man, Trans people are so valid and i don't want any part of an LGBTQ+ communty without trans people. They fought for my rights and i do my best to support them,
@@gayjustgay5432 I just want to point out that other cis gay men who want to exclude trans people are using their privilege badly. Also that it doesn't any sense because trans people have fought in the gay liberation movement, giving them rights and some trans people are gay men, so saying that the 2 things aren't intertwined at all doesn't make any sense to me.
Exactly! They fought for our rights and I damn well don't believe that they deserve to get excluded as a part of our community. They helped us get where we are today!
I really appreciate seeing this. A lot of my online interactions online involve a great deal of harassment and transphobia, and sadly a lot of it comes from gay men and lesbian women. Even though it is such a small percentage of gay men and lesbian women (at least outside of the UK), it really drags the mood down to get harassed by other LGBT+ people when it does happen. So seeing people like you just say that you as much as support trans people means a whole lot.
Oh my god no trans person thinks sex isn't real. For example, Jamie knows he is biologically female, but his gender is male, so that should be respected. He's transgender and there are multiple studies supporting transgender people. Biological reality doesn't contradict with gender and gender dysphoria.

@@jasonbolding3481 there’s something about being “against gender identity legislation” and then promoting legislation to limit someone’s gender identity that just doesn’t make sense
This reminds me alot of the comic Maus. There's a scene where the main character is driving with his dad (a Jewish man who survived the holocaust) and they see a black man on the side of the road. The father says something racist (don't remember exactly what it was) and his son questions him on it and is baffled that a man who had lived through arguably the worst kind of hate imaginable, could then turn around and act similarly to other people. I feel like the son in that scene every time I see a fellow gay person say shit like this lady is saying.
the "predator" talking point is so tired...as if allowing people to use the restroom that matches their gender identity will suddenly make predatory behavior totally okay and legal? never understood that argument and i'm pretty sure everyone saying that has peed next to a trans person at some point lmao
i'm seeing a lot of "what can we do to exclude trans women" and not a lot of "what can we do to hold predatory men accountable" 🤔 it's almost like they care more about excluding trans people than they do about protecting women

Yes I loved that too! It's not just having daughters, but having enough. Like, two daughters? Meh, not enough to actually give a shit, talk to me again when I have 5, maybe then it'll be worth caring.
I’ve heard it said so many times that it’s a contradiction of middle school biology. Yeah, dude. It is. But you’re kinda supposed to keep learning biology after that to get the accurate picture.
IKR! I've literally heard like middle school level biology that contradicted everything she's saying. It's so frustrating when these sorts of people try to use incorrect biology as an excuse for transphobia.
Aham. BUT Would you be angry if a completely normal man suddenly identifies as a disabled woman and wins the special olympics? Biology is just 💩 right? So he should be allowed to that right? (Its an extreme example but it makes perfect sense in your magical fairy world where everyone is whatever they want)
@@Cloudy4Days No, biology does not support trans people, because most trans people are not intersex, they are xx women with female characteristics or xy men with male characteristics, who just decided that they were the opposite sex/gender. But the same way that painting my skin black and calling myself black does not make me a real black person, a man getting surgery to make himself look like a woman and calling himself a woman does not make HIM a woman.
I'm so glad you posted the link to that article in the description, Jamie! I sent it to my mom, so hopefully she will understand where I'm coming from as a trans man.
As a lesbian, this is so frustrating that a woman does not support all women. We are a community and we accept all LGBTQIA+ we accept you. This is a disgrace.
One thing that I wish people like the TERF understood is: Freedom of speech is without LEGAL consequences, not SOCIAL ones. People can be fired from their jobs for transphobia, ridiculed on the internet, etc, but those are not legal consequences. Those are SOCIAL consequences. You aren’t being thrown in jail for your bigotry. You’re getting called out for it.
If you can be fired from your job for saying something the vast majority of the world believes then you don't have freedom do you? Your speech is restricted by the beliefs of your employer if even your off hours words will be used against you. Ridicule is a different matter entirely.
Justifying trans threats and violence against women as "getting called out" and "ridiculed" for their objective, factual statements reveals the sexism of trans-activists. When you use hostility and offensive slurs like 'terf' and 'trans-misogynist' against women who don't agree with trans-ideology (gender=sex=self definition), you can't expect to gain the support of rational people outside the TRA community.
I'm 14 years old and trans and none of my friends, except one, even try to understand being trans. They think it's a choice. I'm not the only one who has this issue right?
I’m assuming your friends are also around 14 and 14 year olds aren’t known as being the most mature educated people. You’re definitely not alone. I had a “friend” tell me I should go to conversion therapy when I came out to her at 15. People just aren’t very educated at that age but hopefully you can find some people who do try and understand and are more accepting!
You are not the only one. Ask your friends, if it's a choice, when they chose to be their birth assigned gender and if they will "choose" to be a different gender for a week or two just to see what it's like. This includes identifying as gay or lesbian if they have a relationship, correcting people when they are misgendered, using gender appropriate bathrooms, etc. All the stuff you deal with daily. I'm non-binary, and I deal with lots of these issues daily too. Good luck with your journey and your authentic life 💜
No, you are not alone. I had to explain multiple times to my friends and fellow "open-minded" students that my attraction to the same sex wasn't intentional, that I'd still be gay even if I didn't date men. (Of course, the next thing they said was "well, then just don't act on the feeling!") But why shouldn't I be allowed to be happy and free like every human being? Why does a simple choice to love and be loved for who I am, the way I am, why does it have to trouble them so much? Why do they have such power to disregard ways that my life can be bettered and fulfilled? You'd still be trans, no matter the belief your friends hold. You back yourself up!!! I LOVE IT!!! It tells me that you know what you're talking about and that you went looking for confirmation that you say things that are correct. You're so smart, man
It’s fascinating watching people victimise themselves over discriminating against others. You’re throwing stones and when people say “that’s not a nice thing to do” you start crying over how mean they’re being.
Tucker: “I have enough girls to care about this” How many girls do you have to “have” to care about their well-being (i ofc don’t agree that this is something he should care abt)
I actually got into an argument with one of those anti-trans feminists a week ago... Thgey said the same old stuff about how trans women in female only spaces are dangerous and that everyone should go to the bathroom that corresponds with the sex they were assigned at birth... I asked them if that meant that they wanted everyone who was assigned female at birth, to use the womens bathroom. They said yes. I asked them if they want a man, who looks and acts and speaks like a man, who might even have a beard and a dick, to use the womens bathroom. They said no. I told them "What about trans men? They were assigned female at birth and depensding on how far they've transitioned they look like that." They didn't respond to me afterwards, they just left. I didn't even have to bring up that there are intersex people.
See, the sexism and misogyny that drives much of the transphobia (and homophobia) we see is based on a reaction to people transgressing the gender norms from the masculine to the feminine, and ONLY from the masculine to the feminine, because we live in a society that values masculinity over femininity. Of course transmasculine people can and do get discriminated against, threatened, and bullied too, but when there is public discourse over transgender people using public facilities, it is ALWAYS about transfeminine people in particular. And transfeminine people are at far more risk or lethal violence than transmasculine people. We even see this attitude regarding masculinity and femininity in the difference in perception and treatment of "tomboys" vs "sissies", even when the people involved are not transgender at all. Rigid gender norms and roles and toxic masculinity play a huge role here, especially in places where religion reinforces those rigid gender roles, but even where this is not the case, it's really hard to shake the broader societal norms at play in people's discriminatory attitudes and behaviors.
Aha i did a similar thing with my grandmother, i googled some pictures of very masculine presenting trans men and asked her if she would be comfortable with them using the same changing room as her or me and she was like hell no. When i told her they were trans she got very quiet
This is so odd. I’m a cis straight woman, so I can’t comment on lgbt spaces, but the fact that trans women are also women has zero impact on me as a woman. Being inclusive doesn’t harm me at all and helps others. Even if I don’t do anything to be explicitly supportive of trans people, I can’t imagine why I’d expend any effort to exclude them.
„I have enough daughters that I care“ It is scientifically proven that you need a minimum of 0 daughters to care, although the recommended amount is at least 0,01 (which can be achieved by having a pet, plant, pet rock which is female OR having at least one X chromosome, which makes daughters possible)
Happy Transgender Awareness Week Jamie (and all the other transgender guys/gals/non-binary pals watching this video)! You're all loved and appreciated! 💙💖♡💖💙
The problem there is with the consequences of "not agreeing" What does "not agreeing" mean in the context of trans people ? Trans rights are human rights, if you don't agree with that, you are (passively or not) advocating for not giving trans people human rights, which is... concerning. I'm not for antagonising anyone for not agreeing with anything, but this kind of stuff, there's not really a "neutral" point of view. If anyone was to say they "disagree" with people of a certain skin colour (something we're all born with) having normal human rights, that would be very concerning, wouldn't it ? Well, do the same thinking for certain gender identities (something we're all born with) and you can guess why anyone saying they "don't agree" with the trans community might be called transphobic. Because it is a transphobic statement, which might come from not having researched the topic, but still.
@@nessa-parmentier In this context the girls that is speaking up is a lesbian that doesn't want to date trans women. To be homosexual is not transphobic. Also, what specific right does trans people not having? When you starts to infringe on female rights that they fought for. That's not their right. You have no right to enter whatever spaces you want because you identify a certain way. There is a reason changing rooms are separated by sex. There is a reason sports are to. You have no right to take away opportunities for girls and women in sports. And you have no right to enter female only space where females are vulnerable. Disagreeing on this is not transphobic. Calling everyone transphobes just alienates people from your cause. Also. Disagreeing with someone of color is not racist, that's an insane statement.
@@nessa-parmentier absolutely not!!! Race struggles and gender struggles are not nearly similar. Wow!! And trans people do have human rights! Please tell me 1 single right that they don’t have that the rest of us do. If you could tell me just 1 legitimate right, than you can have some credit. But there aren’t any…so…please, by all means, school me if I’m wrong.
as someone who uses the women’s restroom, i could not care less if a trans woman walked into the restroom. i’ve had more old ladies walk into my stall than trans women, but no one’s banning them from using public restrooms
I too use the women's restroom as an only partially out AFAB non-binary person, and I'm totally okay with trans women using the restroom with me (not with me with me, in another stall). Hell, if you're a man and you really need to pee, it's fine if you come in and use the stall and leave. It really doesn't matter, just let people do their business.
They also seem to forget about intersectionality, that people can be trans and not heterosexual at the same time. Some people seem to think that they can distance themselves from the trans community, but we are fighting the same fight for acceptance, pride and equality.
Yea, if they weren't real, then why is she even talking about them? XD She should get medication to stop seeing them around and being afraid of them, lol.
Not only that, but there is actually neurobiology behind transgender identities. Studies have found that a trans person’s brain more closely matches that of their identified gender, rather than their gender assigned at birth
@@RClark24 if you're referring to the study I think you are, that was only like six people and they had been on cross sex hormones for years at that point. The brain is plastic so that doesn't prove much. In addition, gay folks usually have a brain structure that's more similar to the opposite sex. That doesn't make them the opposite sex. There's so much overlap between male and female brains that it's still hotly contested whether the differences really have any true effect. Good science doesn't jump at the first study and then park there with no more questioning. Reproductive anatomy is much less ambiguous. There are two types of human gametes. Someone who produces sperm is male; someone who produces eggs is female. Most intersex people still produce only one or the other and are unambiguously male or female. Some small percentage of intersex people truly have an indeterminate sex, but they do not produce a third type of gamete and therefore are not a separate sex. So, in short, humans have two sexes. Some people enjoy philosophizing about a concept they like to call gender and that's fine. Most people are fine with just using sex and not getting spiritual about it. That's fine too. I don't have to agree with you, and you don't have to agree with me. That doesn't make either of us bigots.
