If they went and revealed Josh Harnett’s character as the killer in the trailer, then in M Night’s world, you know a more effed up reveal is lying in wait.
I thought the same thing. Especially b/c in the trailer they talk about the concert being the trap. Well, HE is not a fan of the singer, but his daughter is.
This is like Josh Hartnett's first lead in a mainstream movie since 2007's 30 days of night. And i can't believe the singer Lady Raven is M. Night's daughter. She's an r&b singer shockingly that's a twist within itself.
They go to that concert because clearly the daughter is a big fan of the singer, so they’re there because of the daughter , he is the butcher but the big twist is going to be that the daughter is in cahoots with the police to catch the dad.
Josh would have been in a lot more roles from the early 2000s till now. But he refused to get @ssr@ped and "passed around" by certain Hollywood gatekeeper execs so his career was stunted.
I have been wanting to see Josh Hartnett turn his career around since The Black Dahlia. Lucky Number S7evin is one of my most rewatched films of all time
Fun fact: The singer is M. Night's daughter, Saleka. She's a pretty great singer. I also think she may be in on it. Also - how did the cops get the tip he would be there... Edit: I think this movie is a great way for the Shyamalans to advertise Saleka’s singing career. She’s one of those amazing singers with a not so big audience (that I’m apart of) and it perfectly adds to the dramatics of the movie trailer and hopefully the movie overall. As a strong thriller fan with knowledge of Saleka’s relation to M. Night, this trailer doesn’t appear to have an advertising vibe for his daughter, even though it’s great advertising. I think the concert with songs in a minor is an extremely creative way to add to the overall suspense and dark mood of the movie. That piano definitely made me uneasy in a good way.
I walked into the trailer like "Oh, Josh Hartnett. I hadn't seen him in anything in a minute. He seems like a great guy." That bathroom stall scene made me go, "EXCUSE ME??!" I'm intrigued and will definitely go see it. It would be interesting if they play it as is. He is the butcher BUT the twist is something else.
I have 3 Theory's. But remember it's just Theories. 1: It could be the Daughter. 2: Maybe he caught the Butcher that was in the Video. Or 3: He has a twin Brother. 🤷🏽♂️💯 Just the Thoery though. Great Reaction as always you guys 💯💯
My theory is that Harnett is indeed a pyschopath but he isn't the Butcher but we're led to believe he is for most of the movie. He just so happens to be caught in the same trap and the real Butcher will be revealed in the final act.
See I think the daughter as well, or maybe both or 2) He is her victim, Stockholmed and reality is creeping back in, or 3) that victim is the og ticket holder who he/she/they took and will later kill. The police have to have something to know they could use the concert as a trap and this singer would be geared more towards girls/teens.
My theory is that Harnett is indeed a pyschopath but he isn't the Butcher but we're led to believe he is for most of the movie. He just so happens to be caught in the same trap and the real Butcher will be revealed in the final act, they will clash, one dies and the other walks away scott free.
I heard another one that the guy in the video on his phone killed the wife/mom and the dad and daughter kidnapped him to torture him and the feds think he’s the one instead. That could also be one of the
I saw one theory that really intrigued me: Someone thought up, "What if he is a serial killer, but he's NOT the Butcher? What if he just so happens to have been caught in the same trap, and now he's gotta find a way out so that they don't end up finding him?"
Callin it he a murderer but ain’t the butcher - it’s the daughter. They both crazy and he mentors her. He gonna take the fall at the end and she gets away with it all
@@jmacyourlife or the Butcher could be the man he has kidnapped and is trying to get revenge on him for harming one of his family members (possibly the mother of his child) and he has the Butcher phone and items and is afraid he's gonna get framed for having the Butcher things
@@rari2943 This is more towards that Shyamalan level of crazy while the whole "Daughter being the Killer" theory is more towards the stupid end of the writing pool.
Think either Josh or his daughter has some unique ability and the clover organization have decided to come after them, Josh amd his daughter have probably killed some of their people. And so the clover organization has stated a serial killers out there and they’re gonna try to paint Josh as one. The person he has held in his laundry room is probably just a clover agent. It did say from the world of Shyamalan 🤷🏻♀️
I like this idea a lot actually. Personally I have a feeling that the police would be revealed to have been tipped off by somebody from a previous movie who can see dead people 😉
@@BetweenTheLyons or maybe Josh is trapped in his own mind reliving the last day with his daughter while he’s in the institute with a young boy who can see dead people!! Hehe 🤷🏻♀️ Either way, I’m just excited for another M night movie they’re always so unique and fun! Seeing Haley Joe Osman again would be amazing. He’s done so many little side parts recently, it’s been like a cruel tease 😂
You all are hitting on the connected universe. Anyone from his other films, especially the Unbreakable series, might pop up. I wouldn’t be surprised if Cole Sears is leading the charge to capture The Butcher because of his victims coming to him for help.
I work for an Entertainment Agency here in London and it's my job to get singers and actors to their concerts, premieres, TV and radio interviews on time and safely. Josh Hartnett is a really nice guy. He kind of fell out of favour in Hollywood for a while and was hotly tipped to play Superman a while back. It's good to see him back, via Oppenheimer and getting the credit he deserves. What if he's not the killer? 🤔 Maybe he captured what he thinks is the butcher ..... Only to discover later that the person he has locked up isn't the killer either. We shall see! Then we can all laugh together at just how wrong I am 😄🇬🇧
Hartnett is A butcher…but I think in the end the police is after another butcher that will be arrested and Hartnett will go free with his daughter without getting caught.
@@vizares Wow! Now THAT'S interesting 🤔 You might be onto something there! Or just imagine - as you say there's more than one. Josh Hartnett spends the whole movie trying to get out, only for there to be another butcher caught who is really the one they were chasing all along! My head hurts 😁😳
@@NigelShepherd-z7k exactly 😂 when I saw the trailer yesterday for the first time, I thought it must be a twist. I think the hall movie Hartnett will try to think how to escape from getting caught and it will be for nothing just because the police has information about another butcher. I can see Hartnett walking out with his daughter like nothing happened. I don’t know. Just a thought.
My theory is The Butcher killed the wife so Josh Harnett captured The Butcher who is the guy he is holding captive. Josh Harnett will try to make sure someone else is taken into custody at the concert so that the police no longer look for The Butcher while Josh Harnett can go home and take revenge on the real Butcher. Having the daughter be the killer seems like an obvious/lazy theory.
That cant be right cause when he asked and the guy said its to trap the serial killer the butcher so he clearly knows if its either him or someone else. Who knows it could even be the daughter who knows lets see but there will be a plot twist
THEORY: When he opens his phone, he's now aware that the killer is in his home and using it for killing their victims. I.e it's him or his daughter. He's the killer, but is trying not to make a scene while trying to get home to finish what he started. Or He sees the next target of the killer and tries to save him
I think that twist is that he isn't the butcher he just happens to be another serial killer who happens to be taking his daughter to that concert that just so happens that the butcher happens to also be attending.
What if the person josh has captive is the butcher and he kidnapped him because he killed his wife plus the person playing the singer lady raven is actually m.knight actual daughter
At first I thought the plot is what we get from the trailer. BUT now after watching this reaction, I got a new idea. We only see Dad and Daughter. Where's the mom? My guess is, the trailer want us to think HE is the killer, but I think he is not the killer, but a victim of the killer. And the victim of course was his wife. The butcher got to her. And all this anger we get in the trailer from him, is actually hatred and looking around for the killer to exact his revenge for killing his wife. But this is my theory while thinking "This is a M. Night Shyamalan". It could be any other theory too lol
I want them to follow up on Signs. With how much the aliens in that were teased as scouts and Little Miss Sunshine & Culkin kid in it teasing there being more to come it'd be interesting to see Night do his proper invasion sequel.
I am having as much fun watching the two of you deconstruct the trailer as much as I loved the preview myself. Definitely a GO for me as well. This film looks SAF.
You two are right; any trailer from M Night Shyamalan gets people to overthink. Also, considering Lady Raven is played by M Night's daughter Saleka, the theory of her being The Butcher sounds credible.
Yo Struggle Nation! I used to watch y’all’s livestreams a couple years back and loved them! Just started rewatching the channel, much love from Chicago!
The larger problem I always have with M Night films is either they get spoiled by some douche canoe, wanting to be that guy, or Night has this obsession of not putting enough time in-between his releases. His main "catch" is the twist, but if you just his last film a year ago, theatre release wise, then its still in the back of your mind of him being a twist guy, so you spend the whole movie expecting or looking for the twist. Also as smaller gripe, writing himself in his movies, which is fine, but he always seems to be a pivotal character. The drunk that kills Mel Gibsons wife in Signs comes to mind.
The fact he pointed out the Daughter could be the Killer I thought about that as well… Something else is going on here! He ain’t giving something away in a Trailer that ain’t a Miss Direct! We’ll see!
He's another killer. He caught the butcher as u see in his camera video. He stole the butcher's tickets and went to the concert. But he realized it was a trap for the butcher. Now he realizes he fucked up. He's not the butcher but still a killer who caught the butcher. And he fell in a trap that was for the butcher.
I have a strong feeling that he is the butcher and hiis daughter is some kind a cannibal or a monster, That's why he butchers and kill people for him to feed his daughter. ITS An Mnight movie, anything is possible 😅 I read some comments they think he a ex cop and thought he already captured the butcher but turned out that wasn't the butcher, it's a good theory too...
If they mentioned “in M Night’s world…” you know it’s gonna be connected to some of the other movies and maybe some characters might come back in this movie. Someone mentioned the little boy from The sixth sense might be connected to this one in sone way or even the Beast.
My worst nightmare,a venue full of teenage-or younger-kids screaming non stop...looks like a Taylor Swift concert my friend went to here in the UK a few years ago.I told him that at the age of 30 he was at least 15 years too old for that sort of vacuous pop fluff.
This movie looks crazy! I don't know much about it but this trailer was enough for me to want to check it out for myself! No more trailers from this movie for me hahah. And yeah Old was super wack, Knock at the Cabin was solid
My theory is that Harnett is indeed a pyschopath but he isn't the Butcher but we're led to believe he is for most of the movie. He just so happens to be caught in the same trap and the real Butcher will be revealed in the final act.
Everyone is taking about his movies but I’m guessing no on has heard/seen Penny Dreadful..it was a series on Showtime that he starred in with Eva Green, a few years ago. He was amazing in it
1). i need a whole fake album for Lady Raven. 2). i kinda feel like maybe his daughter found out and worked with the feds to fix it. OOOORRRRR .... the daughter is the butcher. 3). wondering if The Butcher is in-world [like seeing Bruce at the end of SPLIT]
This is crazy, he could be not the butcher, the father actually tracking the killer on the dark web, he could be the butcher, his daughter might be the butcher. The twist is there anyway.
Im Gen X and never heard of the director? My daughter was saying negative stuff about him, But saw this trailer and 100% want to see it!! Absolutely brilliant trailer!!! I got bored of films past decade..non as good as 80/90s I’m deffo going to watch this!! If I’m disappointed fair enough! But looks good makes me want to go to cinema again! Not been in 10 years!!… Also mint ice cream rocks!
Watch the twist be hes the killer and his daughter is his secret apprentice knowing who he is all along or his daughter IS the killer and he's her helper
*Josh Hartnett,* just one of many big names to have filmed 1.5 miles down the road from me in *Bradford* the world's first *UNESCO City of Film.* Which film did he film in *Bradford* you ask? *Blow Dry* (2001), which was largely filmed in *Bradford City Hall* (plus other areas of Bradford), and also written by *Bradford* born *Oscar* winner *Simon Beaufoy.* Fellow *Oscar* winner *Cillian Murphy* (who starred with Josh in Oppenheimer) is another one of the big names to have filmed in *Bradford City Hall,* which was used for 7 different locations in *Peaky Blinders* (2013-2022) obviously. Some *Oscar* winners to have filmed in *Bradford City Hall* include *Adrien Brody, Marisa Tomei, Jim Broadbent,* and *Helen Mirren.* Other *Oscar* winners who have filmed elsewhere in *Bradford* include *Eddie Redmayne, Colin Firth, Ben Kingsley, Michael Caine, Richard Attenborough, Kate Winslet, Emma Thompson, Vanessa Redgrave, Rachel Weisz, Alicia Vikander, Maggie Smith* and possibly *Susan Sarandon* (however we won't know until sometime this year). Practically every big name from series like *Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Game of Thrones, Downton Abbey, Happy Valley, Emmerdale* and *Peaky Blinders* have also filmed productions in *Bradford* mainly at locations like *Bradford City Hall, Little Germany, Undercliffe Cemetery, Saltaire, Haworth, Keighley and Worth Valley Railway* etc.
Second time seeing the trailer. Wanted to see how you would react. There are couple of questions about the daughter. How did she not get the hint something is wrong with her father? Is that girl really his daughter? I suspect that he kidnapped her from a previous killing, and she's a missing person that someone is looking for.
