We hiked up Trapper Peak on July 21 2023. This was our first bigger hike in Montana and it delivered! The views from the top were phenomenal over the rugged Bitterroot Range. This was a very hot/dry hike in late July, we baked in the sun as the upper half didn’t provide much sun and the wind fell stagnant during the steep sections of course. I’d like to come back here for the larches one fall, extremely scenic and dense with larches.
This was my first video since getting an iPhone 13 Pro so I was messing around with the settings a bit. I accidentally filmed some of the beginning in 1080p but most of it is in 4K.
Filmed July 21 2023 with iPhone 13 Pro

Thanks! The Bitterroot’s are amazing! Extremely rugged example of the Rocky Mountains. Deep valleys and tall peaks. This hike, for us anyway, was all about the destination. Views from the top are incredible but it’s a steep rather dull forest hike up. If we were to do it again we would likely take the Baker Lake alternate
