Hasbro needs to bring this line back. The world (no longer just Japan) is now in a day and age of blind bag/boxed madness. It's the perfect time to resurrect this idea.
I had one of these when I was younger. I was five years old at the time and didn't do it right. I just broke open the bag and pulled the figure out of the dry powder. So Pixel Dan, thank you for showing off what I missed back when these were new.
I think I remember the bag swelling big time until it kind of bursted into a foamy mess. It's a shame that these awesome things have a shelf life like they do, but in order to make them non-toxic it's what they had to do!
Oh i loved this ones when i was a kid and i still got most of the line with me. Now in 2018 it leaves me in awe how good looking and detailed they are for they size.
I have a few of these guys, but they all came from yard sales. It was cool to see them dissolve. Have you ever seen the DC Squats from a few years ago?
They took a few minutes to fully dissolve unless you stirred them. I had some within the first few weeks of release, and was the first time I encountered commercials advertising things before they released. Annoyed the guy at Kaybees coming in every other day till they got them.
I remember the excitement when I got one of these for birthday. Everybody staring curiously into the sink and waiting what would come out of water! :-)
Back in the day they dissolved like you own little Bubbly Creek. I think you should have used more water so it could be full submerged. One time I got two figures until today I though it was a random mistake 1/24 is still pretty good though. My mom hated these figures I was only allowed to do dissolving in the bathroom sink. Her hatred for the figures only made me loved them even more. I was collecting these with my best friend in kindergarten. Sadly they are lost. This was such a nice trip back memory lane. Thank you!
Certainly remember these things from when I was a kid. Speaking of which, this thing screams early 90's "tude" to the max. We've got bright neon colors, attitude and big time boy factor going on...so cool! I can't exactly remember what these dissolved like, as I was only like 7-8 years old...but that label and concept has always stuck with me. Though I will give those Star Wars bags props...those were a ton cooler to open, just a shame that the stuff inside wasn't as cool!
MAN, these look great! I kinda forgot, 'cause the ones I have left are really beat up. They had been outside, in the dirt, in the tub, etc. They looked fantastic, when they were brand new! Like you said: Really great paint apps. The "trash water" afterward is neat, but I still gotta say: The way those Episode One bags worked was really cool, and I think Trash Bag Bunch would have been even better with some slime bags as well (maybe as deluxes or something).
