It's funny because this is the 2nd or 3rd RTJ reaction I've seen where someone didn't know who El-P even was. The dude is an absolute underground legend and equally vicious as a producer and a rapper.
@@freekeemonkee Ill sleep when your dead was the official arrival as a living legend. hes never let me down. always captures the essence of whats going on and offers a great take. he gets weird too. from his early group company flow to his running a label. he is an absolute legend in the game.
to be fair, him being a producer and musician first and foremost makes it even more impressive that he can 'hold his own' compared to mike. IDk, don't try your hardest to take everything as negatively as possible. Read the context :D
Umm guys... quotation marks mean I'm quoting someone. The dude in the video said El-P "held his own". The dude doesn't know how long El-P has been in the game, let alone how much of the track he makes himself. His beats alone do a lot for the songs. This is not putting down Killer Mike. Dude is a beast in his own sense. I wasn't dissing El-P. I was commenting on the creator of the video saying something like that. Maybe understand what a quote is or at least watch the video. If you had watched, you literally hear those words come out his mouth.
Damn right, my favorite producer of all time and getting better at rapping every album since he linked up with mike. Not even saying he was bad at rapping before rtj it’s just since he’s come into his own with the rapping
They are incredible live. Discovered them by accident at a festival after they released their first album. Was walking to enough set and they were going to hard ended up staying and catching almost the entire set. If they come to your town go trust me
This duo has put out 4 highly praised masterpieces! El-P and Mike have such a good chemistry and not to mention El-P is an amazing producer! I highly recommend listening to all 4 Run the Jewels album cleverly titled Run the Jewels 1,2,3 and 4. Banger after banger. Truly an amazing duo!
I thought the same thing, at the same time. I was playing gears of war 4 when this video came out. Thinking about how run the jewels were finally about to get the recognition they deserved. Even after appearing on Cyberpunk 2077's radio more than twice, there has been no increase in exposure. I have met one stranger in real life that knows who they are. We need to do our due diligence to bring them to the light. People with a platform need to remember where their ideas come from. These 1970s to 1990s kids are our teachers whether you like it or not.
I was like that too when I was new to RTJ, Mikes voice and delivery shine brighter to newer fans but once you listen a bit more you will love El-P just as much.
I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS REACTION FOR YEARS BRO ME AND MY BROTHER USED TO BUMP THIS SONG EVERYWHERE HE HAD KILLER MIKES VERSES I HAD EL P, BROO WE PUT ON A SHOW FOR OUR HOMIES😂
My G, thank you so much for reviewing a song that helped get me thru tough times yet also makes you feel like you could take on the whole world. You know how it is!!
Amazed you have never heard of el-producto from company flow. One of the sickest producers out there and his rhymes are dope. A vast library that will blow your mind
If you thought that was anthem for 2020, you haven't heard the rest of the album. Check it out. Holy calamafuck, walking in the snow, Ju$t, and a few words for the firing squad. RTJ 1 2 3 & 4.
El-P produces everything for run the jewels I believe. Amazing rapper and producer. From ‘company flow’ who are one of my favourite groups from the 90s.
Your slow expression change at 1:54 is exactly what I feel every time listening to this song. The beat, the rhythm of the lyrics, everything about it is just so....dirty. I love it.
Intro to them was through my love of Rage Against the Machine. "Close Your Eyes (and Count to F" plus it has a pretty appropriate music vid for the times
Love rtj, first time i heard them i was in some college town in the sticks scanning for radio stations the college station had it on song was dont cry my darling been a fan ever since
RTJ are the TRUTH dawg, you should do more of their stuff. Killer Mike is obviously a beast, lesser known that El-P is too, they both kill it, they some of the few real ones still out there right now
SOMEONE ACTTUALLY FINALLY REACTED TO THESE GUYS?!? Like of like the bigger reactors, damn. Been waiting for it for so long I couldnt believe at least artofkickz hadn't done it yet. I just don't get it cause these reaction channels are mostly made up of the more underground/RU-vid rappers is what's made them so big with the occasional mainstream rapper. These guys are like the top of the top for underground rap and even sorta mainstream now and have killed it on RU-vid forever and their beats and production are just craaazy. Love the dynamic of their voices together and just the shit they speak about not being afraid to test the waters. Well needed for a long time now man
Other dude is EL-P he's been around since the early 90's his first group was the legendary Company Flow him big jus and dj Mr len you should do a reaction to last good sleep that'll give you a great idea of who he is.
Dude, this guy just says what he thinks about shit with some cool background lighting and he has nearly 2 mil subs and hundreds of thousands of views on each video. I fucking love it.
White dude is El-P, originally of Company Flow. One of the greatest pioneers of the indy movement of the mid/late 90s. I was in on ground floor for Funcrusher Plus, but he started losing me not long after that. Cult following intact, though. Indy legend.
the other dude is El-P ( Jaime ) he is one of the most notorious underground hip hop producers, he writes all the beats for RTJ as well as he rhymes, you should do reaction to el-p - stay down. its a dope track.
The other dude is El-P. Aka El Producto he had a solo career and is from New York. He was there when it hip hop was starting. He’s produces all their beats.
You gotta check out their song "a fucking Christmas miracle", in my opinion one of their best. It has a dark slow beat and their lyricism really kicks in for the topics they touch on.
Didn't know who these gentlemen were till I heard they were opening for Rage Against the Machine on their new tour. So I checked them out and I am now a fan. So can't wait to see them with Rage next year
The other dude is El-P, hes so sick. Definitely check out what else Run The Jewels got. I know their second album is 100% 🔥 One song that you should definitely check out is Nobody Speak - DJ Shadow ft. Run The Jewels. You wont find it in their catalogue, so i figured id recommend it for you.
