Trashtalk on Lancer (Dustgrave Special): Störtebeker & Viceroy

Before the release of dustgrave I saw the art for viceroy on redit and I'm going to repeat the comment from memory cause it's the funniest thing about this. King: we award you this medal for bravery in the field of battle. Lancer: can my mech have a medal too? King: Wha- Lancer: You heart me. Also I want it to have a cool cape.

So basically it's two frames that each want ranks in Caliban for one of its heavy weapons.

Everyone's talking about the Viceroy, but noone mentions the fact how well Störtebeker synergizes with caliban's hhs 155 cannibal: It's a heavy weapon that deals damage to an enemy that is close by when reloaded, and you can then use hopkins doctrine to fire two barrels of DOOM every turn.

The viceroy sounds like the Lancer version of those super mutants that strap mini-nukes to their hands and try to punch you.

Speaking as someone piloting a Monarch that maintains careful social distancing, the Viceroy just feels _wrong._ Probably a lot of fun, but it's hard to get out of the artillery mindset.

I'm not sure what Deeprock Galactic has to do with some German pirate, but that was an interesting story.

At first, I wondered why you would need your ranged attacks to reload your melee weapons, then I remembered Tortuga's pilebunker exists, and now I want to play with a Tortebeker build that Juggles between Bolt Thrower and Catalytic hammer, maybe top it off with a Deck sweeper and siege ram to help get into beatings range. This is why I love Lancer, each new toy causes a resonance cascade of build ideas.

That Viceroy art has a great look, the DCMS wishes their mechs could look that cool.

The vibes for Viceroy 3 Tortuga 3 as a LL6 build are fascinating. I'm just imagining the Throughbolt Round Shenanigans with Missile Launchers.

Stort + Caliban seems obvious but I can also see some good synergy with Nelson. Especially with Vanguard or CQB etc Talents.

Oh. I didn't know the Viceroy existed, I've just been loading the Monarch with Vijaya rockets and dumping Agility. Guess I gotta get the supplements after all

Interesting how both of these are takes on combining ranged and close quarters combat in their own ways.

Viceroy is very satisfying 😌 Can go all in CQB or play it as a switch-hitter to great effect. Particularly with the Gandiva in license.

an LL6 completed build would be a Cannibal Storte using 2 tiger hunters, for more chances to crit, there's only the cathammer in official content that's a loading melee now we just need more, and we cookin

I wish I had a clever Venture Bros joke to go with the Viceroy right now, but sadly that would require far too much explaining...

I've gone to Viceroy maining in my current campaign and it's great getting threat 3 on Gandiva missiles with Vanguard, I can just get in someone's business and keep them from leaving unless they're willing to risk double-accurate smart 1d6+3 attacks.

It sounds like the Störtebeker could be able to skirmish three times in a single turn and then move or lock on something thanks to Hopkins Doctrine. Is that right?

In memory of Lancer Custom Werks Störtebeker build has to main starting builds what I will call the gunslinger and the vampire slayer. first the gunslinger the goal the build uses 4 hand cannons and a non-loading melee one thing about Störtebeker is that it’s very flexible the heavy slot open can be used for anything and you will be using truesilver to crit with your melee and reload all of your guns and that’s the loop in gunslinger you will probably never use reprise and the talents required are GUNSLINGER 3, VANGUARD 1 and COMBINED ARMS 2 as for the LL dealer choice again Störtebeker is very flexible second build is vampire slayer you use BOLT THROWER and a long melee your choice, but I would recommend war pike this one is all about that one shot that kills the monster, truesilver you will being the damage part not the crit. The damage can’t be reduced is crazy with Bolt thrower and with “ROLAND” CHAMBER you can do 4D6 the can not be reduced to one poor monster the talents are going to be DUELIST 1 and COMBINED ARMS 3. That’s it for vampire slayer every crit with the war pike means you can use Bolt thrower and be hitting for 4D6 and that’s just crazy.

Thanks, I really needed something to make me feel better about gaming today. GW just dropped the point values for 40K 10th and that's the end of that edition for me. First time I've quit an edition pre-release, it's got me a little down.

Störtebeker is literally a bloodborne reference, and for shame you didnt make any bloodborne references. I am disappointed. If you make a LCW for Störtebeker, you better make bloodborne references in the frame summary or there will be a Catalytic Hammer rammed up your Blackbeard's reactor (JK this is really good content)

0:60 the fuck you on about? first kappakreig and vitalienbruders isnt even swedish spelling Vitaliebröderna is that spelling and kappakreig sounds more like a slang term in hockey for when you fight over the same puck...i presume its all the german spellings, but the issue this causes is that to us sweds there is no kapakreig, there was conflict of the time is referd to as the First Danish-Hanseatic War. i think that's the one after some searching but if you have a source fell free to send it, no harm meant.
