The transformer is most important if the country ie Philippines is 220 240 voltage. Which would fry your US 110v devices.

I have found that the world travel adapters are too heavy to stay in the sockets at some hotels. The smaller, individual adapters work better for me.

Your comment about all voltage in N & S America being “110” IS NOT CORRECT! In Argentina they use 200V in wall plugs. So, travelers will need to check their devices and/or get a “converter” in addition to a plug adapter. Can’t speak to other S American countries but I DO know this is the case in Argentina. Check Google if you don’t believe me.

Chile and Uruguay uses Italian 220V outlets, Peru uses US Euro 220V outlets, Guyana uses US, Indian or UK outlets on 240V.

Hi. Great info. We are traveling from US TO Tahiti and I keep going in circles about what to get. We’ve got an iPhone, insta360x3, go pro 12, charging bank for insta batteries, curling iron says 120/240v, ac 50/60 hz 125w. Not sure if I should get the small light weight square universal adaptor or a Ceptics travel voltage converter 200W? If I go with the converter then I’m sure I’m safe right? Even if the items are compatible either way? Only thing it won’t do is a hairdryer. Your help is appreciated. Thanks PS I’m not sure what voltage the insta 360x3 or its fast charge hub or go pro are compatible with. Trying to find out.

Just a note, not all South America is 110 volts so you will need a voltage converter if you travel to some South American countries.

Brazil is multivoltage country, 60Hz for the whole country. 220V in Northwest and North Brazil (Belem, Boa Vista), 127V (110-127V) in Southern Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo), etc..

This is sooo helpful! I have learned much of this from my own mistakes (ie blowing up hair tools abroad!). I ended up purchasing new ones during my travels because I ruined mine; now I have a few options to bring with me, lol! I save the converters for lower power electronics. Most hotels will have a hair dryer; I always ask house rentals if they can provide one to save the headache of that particular appliance.

Can someone explain or show me how to use a Voltage Converter and will it also need to be connected separately to the Travel Adapter as well as your own cable ? As I don't do a lot of travelling and not sure if it would be worth buying another product ?

@Travelfashiongirl
@Travelfashiongirl Год назад
Hi Andre, the Philippines works with 220V so you would need to either make sure your blender is dual voltage or use a converter. Learn more here: www.travelfashiongirl.com/voltage-converter-vs-travel-adapter-how-do-they-work/ How about traveling with something like this handheld travel blender that doesn’t rely on any power source - it just uses good, old-fashioned muscle power along with the whisking ball so you wouldn't have to worry about the voltage: amzn.to/3hulab6 Hope this helps. Have an amazing time!
@TabJoy7
@TabJoy7 Год назад
Be careful because most voltage converters have a cap on wattage. You'll need a converter that can handle the high watts used by a blender. I'd suggest purchasing a blender with 220v instead. This is what I did when we moved to India.

If the adapter or USB charger is rated 110-240Volt ac input, i.e. international voltage, you should be okay. Most USB chargers these days are designed/manufactured to accept an input voltage anywhere from 100 to 240 volts. An internal sensing circuit automatically monitors and adjusts for the input voltage.

Word of warning - I had a Beachwaver curling iron that is "dual voltage" but it did not work anywhere in Italy. I would love to hear from anyone that has used a dual curling iron and the specific brand since I will be returning in a few months. By the way, I looked in several stores (Bellagio, Venice, Cinque), but did not see any to purchase there. We took trains and did not want to go to any great lengths to track one down. Thank you in advance! :)
