Oh, a frustrating day of travel. I was returning from India during that time and thankfully did not have that kind of trouble. Sorry about your drone! :(
We were almost in a similar boat trying to get out of Bali before the lockdown there with flight cancellations and all. You handled it so well honestly. It was a scary experience for everyone who tried to make it safe back home, glad you made it over the borad safe and sound! P.S. so sad about the drone ... glad you got the footage out!
Just watched the vlog. Even though it happened in the past already, I am feeling upset as if I went through that with you guys! That shows the quality of your work. You make us feel like we're with you going through these things! Glad you're home safe.
As much as that was a terrible travel day, I do appreciate you showing it! Travel is a wonderful, fulfilling experience, interrupted by the occasional problem.
I’m really glad you guys are safe and home (and got your drone back)! We’re in Dubai now and our family is set to fly back to the US in June. It’s definitely been a whirlwind of emotions for everyone these last few months!
Drones are not easy to take in the GCC countries because 1 security wise it has been used in terrorist attacks and surveillance 2 because the its community that values privacy 3 UAE specially deal with drones intercepting planes near DXB so you need to register any drone to take it
Watched your enrance to the USA again to be up to date and recap after all your wonderful trips to Oman. As you know it's now 5/19/20 and we are so glad you are safe and healthy. It was so worrisome seeing all the travel in close corriders. You really did help take or minds off all the craziness of the world. Looking forward to see you again.
Love the video. That odd kitchen has like very blue spectrum lights. Weird. The drone thing makes no sense but I assume many things didn't. I am just really glad you both got home.

Looking at this video now, (and the one that you posted in March), while hindsight is clearly 20/20. It is so clear you made the right decision to leave when you did. Did you investigate whether you would have been stuck,in UAE if you had kept your original flight. Oh, I have to ask, did you tip the person who returned your drone?

Wow! Really feeling for you guys. I don't think Ive ever seen Eric so mad before. He looked completely spent by the end of that video. So what happens to the drone now? Don't tell me its gone for good! Oh! I just saw the other video you posted above and saw Eric got the drone back by the guy who confiscated it. Not good that they took it but at least you got it back and the guy was good enough to bring it to you.
What happened at the Omani boarder should be understandable. With what was happening, governments started taking decisions out of a sudden. Its an usual situation.

Ohh man I’m sorry to hear how this nightmare of a day was guys. Sounds rough. See, that’s one of the reasons why I’m hesitant to get a decent drone. There should be an anti-fraud/corruption/theft setting that you can apply to a drone, that causes it to self-destruct in a vicious if-I-can’t-have-it-nobody-can manner.

Jeez, that stinks. I'm with you, policy is policy but to know if you had left your drone in the bus it wouldn't have been confiscated is a hard pill to swallow.

First of why u guys were travelling in March when all the countries were closing borders around February anyhow it's good u made it & for the Drone part u shouldn't be upset coz the rules are very very clear unless u have license u cant carry it, also please use sense while doing videos near gov. buildings u were lucky tht poice didn't put u inside thr r big marking stating no photo no video so respect the law instead of breaking & getting upset later, u were still in the vicinity .. For travelers they confisticate Drones & gives a receipt while returning u can claim it back, they always care even the bus gets scanned, the whole bus gets scanned too & it's not only here happens to every country every check point if u get away u r lucky if not u r not lucky enough... by the way 2-3 hrs delay is nothing border crossing always takes time not always it's a 5min job..

We all have travel horror stories! At least you made it back to the USA before they locked down! I would love to hear about some of the other horror stories you ve encountered over the years. Not to bad mouth a country but to educate future travelers as what to expect. Personally , ive experienced unforgettable scary , dirty , racist , anti -whatever places and people as well as terrifying moments in the middle of nowhere with a dead phone , no signal , no map , no light and no idea how I ended up there! I’d love to hear about your real shocking moments. I think many Americans need to know that the entitlement and easy access we have in the USA will not be there when you enter a foreign country. Glad you are both back home and safe . I look fwd to your videos and to a time when we can all travel again w /o worry ! Stay safe kids!

I think u have to learn to accept the rules in other countries .no drones means no drones .my understanding is u don’t get it back or did you get to have it sent to America ahead of you ....so stop wasting time being angry or don’t visit thoes countries to begin with
Note to self: Always keep memory cards out of drones and cameras until ready to use, just in case. If I take a drone keep batteries ( and props or other parts) separate in case someone just wants to appropriate it. Good idea?
I would think if the drone was fully inspected, they would see it was an ordinary drone with no compromising in it or on it. I hope you are able to be reimbursed for your loss of your drone.
I looked at the title, and was like 😬.....but the introduction was sooooo awesome 😎. So sorry to hear of the troubles with the travel back home, and the fact that your drone was confiscated 😡. So is there any way that you could have gotten it back, like the last incident, or is like "gone gone" 🤷♂️. These are indeed some different times we a facing at the moment, but I hope for everything to clear, and get back to normal so we can see some of the "endless adventures" we are used to seeing. 🤙🏻✈️👋🏻🚂👍🏻🛳
Nothing worse than scary travel days that make you doubt your research on visas, bans etc. We have a few friends that got stuck places during the pandemic so we're glad you made it back safely to the US!! How are you holding up?? Now that some restrictions are being lifted do you start planning any new adventures yet?? 💜
It is any consolation. Screening some and some bags without is fairly common in the USA-TSA as well. I could tell you where and when but, it has to do with limiting threat. But, they prolly just wanted to rip you off. Glad your are back and I liked your channel. 🌴🌴Aloha
I don’t blame you cause you don’t know anything about camels.. like are you serious? Camels live in the desert and they can survive without drinking water for up to 20 days and they eat leaves from trees that has sharp spikes on it this is how their natural living life and this is how they were created by god in Arab culture we call it (the ship of desert) 🙄

So this is not criticism but maybe will help others who follow you..Drones are illegal in both UAE and Oman. Ok in UAE if you have a licence and to get this you must have been on a course..if not the fine can reach 3000$US jail is also ppssible. In Oman drones can only be operated legally by registered companies at agreed locations and times. Not private individuals.
hahaha Oman is a cool place plz don't mind anything with the police i am a Sri Lankan who lives in Oman actually I'm living exactly near the Oman UAE border even I bought the ticket to come here from the same place that you have gone through...due to this Corona police are little bit strict on rules also since it's a border of between 2 countries vedio and filming is not allowed..Hope you had good time...stay blessed always...TC
I know the announced in Canada where I'm from hopefully June 21st to borders to the States and Canada will be openI know internationally things are a royal pain. I know Vegas will be opening up slowly just so you know. You're both your Grace videos and I know I might be travelling to Turning Stone in Syracuse Casino in July and I'm visiting a friend in West Virginia hopefully around then maybe in August check their Casino out it would be nice if I could actually meet the two of you for the meal cuz you do great work and you're also a nice couple its nice to see that
OMG you guys. I could tell you were pissed off Eric. I can't imagine that experience but so much was happening at that point globally too. Glad you guys are safe now. My hubby and I should have been heading to Las Vegas from San Fran right now as part of our US trip. :(
As Omani I visited Dubai many times. In the past the border between Oman and UAE was peaceful (15 ) years ago now they treat us like criminals and I’m so sad because I like the city but I can’t stand the way they treat us that why I stopped visiting 7 years ago.

I am so sorry you had to go through all of that!! And so sorry about your drone Eric. We were in Indonesia when everything started happening and were able to get out of Bali on March 20th - the day before they closed the borders. Luckily that was our plan anyway - our vacation was over - but some folks had just started their vacations and had to leave. That was very sad. We flew from Bali to Doha - didn't leave the airport in Doha (we likely would not have gotten back in) - we had a nine hour layover, but we got out and got back home to Boston on March 21st. It was a very stressful trip home!
