In states that have schools that offer CIDESCO, once you pass that additional exam you'll be able to work internationally. For example in MO it takes 1,200 hours to be both licensed and CIDESCO certified.

Jaelyn You get licensed as a regular esthetician first after you finish school. At least in Texas you do.

You have to go to regular Esthetics school, then you can go to a medical school but have to be a licensed Esthetician first.

In the state of Virginia, there is a basic and master's esthetician license. Two different licenses. Both are 600 hours each. You can be a "basic" esthetician and practice under those guidelines and be in school for the master's esthetics. In order to attend a master's program, you would have had to complete the basic esthetician course. After you complete the master's program, you would test and apply for the master's esthetician license. Not every state does this though - Virginia is one of the few. Regarding a medical esthetician, you may need an RN license when it comes to injections like fillers, etc.

Do medical esthetician’s learn the same as an esthetician ? I want to do medical but I want to be able to do the cosmetic side of it not just clinical side.

ArisJJanay yes they do... the only difference is medical esthetician can do more than a esthetician such as certain treatment, facials and of course fillers and botox.

Vixen Medical Esthetician or not, you have to have some form of medical license to administer botox/fillers.

no there should NEVER be chemicals in an esthetician setting that would have you have a flare up

I just moved to st. Augustine. All the requirements I’ve seen just says 260 hours at a Florida cosmetology school. Does the school have to be accredited to be able to get your license upon completion or is it just any cosmetology school in Florida?
