Traveling to Wyoming | SLEEPING IN A JEEP CHEROKEE XJ

I'm moving out to Wyoming for a short time. I travel 860 miles to Laramie Wyoming. I'll be here for a little bit so I can finish my education. I spent the night sleeping in my jeep Cherokee Xj. it was great. I slept great, plenty of space. having the drawer system I built in the back made sleeping a lot more comfortable. I'll leave a link to the video of me building that draw system below

Love Bass Pro Shop! It’s like Christmas when we go!! Joe and I drove from SC to WA, and took back roads the whole way. Amazing, beautiful sights! We took 2 weeks and enjoyed every moment. We didn’t have a dog and we stayed in Motel 8’s along the way 🤣🤣 But we plan to do more cross country travel and we’ll stay at KOA’s. Safe travels!!! ❤️🐞

Glad you had a safe trip.That sure is some beautiful country,would love to visit one day.Man those long road trips really wear me out.Back in the early '90's,I drove a box truck from Palm Springs to southern Illinois.I drove 10 hrs a day for 3 days......That truck would not go over 60mph....

It is a long trip. I couldn’t imagine doing it in a box truck. That would be rough. It’s beautiful out here for sure.

With the 2 door xj all you have to do is push the front seat front all the way forward. The fold the seat back down all the way down. 4 doors seat won’t fold forward enough to sleep the way I do in my jeep

I changed a gear on my trans for the speedo. I run 35's and speedo is right on now.

Take some time on a weekend and travel to Colorado and get some trails/ camping in. Beautiful scenery here!

@@TheOffRoadCorner If you do let me know! I'm in Denver but Ft Collins, which is right in the middle, has some good trails like Kelly Flats, Ballard Road, and Swamp Creek... which is pretty easy.

nice road trip - you mentioned that you've got lots of room being 6 ft tall, right ? I'm planning to make my XJ an overland with the same kind of sleeping platform you have installed.

Yeah I’m 6’ and I fit just fine. The seats in the 2 doors have fold down seat backs help a lot with finding room to sleep length wise in the jeep

@@TheOffRoadCorner thanks - I have power seats in my 4 door, so I can't fold down the seat backs - however moving the seats forward helps to get enough room

This is pretty cool! I’m basically doing the same thing. I built a pullout drawer system and built a bed system in the back of my little two door 91 Cherokee. I’m 6’4, that’s about the limit I think haha but it’s pretty good. How much weight do you think the bumpers add to the Jeep?

Bumpers alone I’d guess 50 lbs on the front and maybe 100 lbs on the back. With the winch, jack, spare tire and bumpers probably a good 350-400 lbs. that’s all a complete guess though.
