It's near impossible to watch the sunrise and sunset on Australia’s eastern beaches. BUT WE DID! On our roadtrip we found the incredible sand dunes of Killick Beach, NSW.
We’d said goodbye to Bec & Jock after our awesome weekend #camping at #CrowdyBayNationalPark and continued our big lap of Australia - heading north to Hat Head NSW. We found THE BEST off-road spot for camping called Hungry Gate Campground. It’s nestled between the huge sand dunes that we spent so long exploring and has an awesome vibe with everyone sitting around campfires at night. At the top of the sand dunes you can watch the sunrise AND the sunset - very rare for an Aussie east coast beach.
Join us as we explore the dunes, day trip to #SouthWestRocks, and visit the historic Trial Bay Gaol. Oh and we meet some friendly kangaroos who were chilling out near the beach.
We returned to the dunes in time (well nearly) for the sunset to climb to the highest sand dune we could find and cooked up a bunch of huge tiger prawns from the South West Rocks fish coop.
Being amongst nature for both the sunrise and sunset left us both feeling very excited to continue our road trip as we travel Australia in search for more incredible landscapes to explore and document to show you guys.
