Travelling Australia: One day in Broken Hill and Caught in a Flash Flood in a Desert Storm!

We head to Broken Hill, The Silver City to explore the rich mining history of this town! We find ourselves blown away with how much there is to see and do here! To end the day we make our way to the living desert sculptures to catch the sunset which takes a turn for the worse!

The power Station was known as the CPS (Central Power Station), it was only used to power the mines and used a different voltage to the regular supply.

You didnt get to see the " Big" picture in Broken Hill. Well worth seeing. Pity Bell's milk bar was closed well worth seeing all the old items of years gone by

I haven't been to Broken Hill yet . but the extra drone footage you captured was definitely worth it gave the mining side of the historics a different perspective ! those solar farms are incredible the size of them ! you definitely got some spectacular views . cool weather storm experience ! nice one !

The cheese and kisses and myself are heading to Kalgoolie via Mildura, Mendindee Lakes etc..Thanks for a great vid and insight into what to expect and see when we arrive..A top spot we stayed on our travels was Fort Courage caravan park 20 mins out of Wentworth..Well worth a look for anyone heading that way!..Cheers and safe travels..

I am so relived that you mentioned you would like to return but please don’t judge a place you haven’t really explored broken hill is a great tourist draw card and was the go to throughout the covid pandemic a proud broken hilleite

Broken Hill is my home, that storm was 30mm in 30 mins, caused lots of damage. Look forward to you returning and yes there lots to see here.

Broken Hill, lots of interesting history, Thanks for showing us around, I'm old enough to remember Mad Max being made, also those sculptures being made , by famous sculptors from around the world, last light beautiful after storm, A least that type of rain it's up and down fairly quickly, Exciting end to vid, Enjoyed Cheers Bevan 🤠❤️🇦🇺

Anyone can get a photo of a sunset, to get the vision that you got means that you have to be in the right place at the right time. It was fantastic to see that lightening and the cloud movements. Disappointed that you didn't put the drone up though :D, :D, :D. What a great experience you had at the lookout and the road out. With all the challenges that you had in Feb this seems like a fitting end to the month. :)

Great episode guys as always. Being from WA I'm gonna be the first to admit that I didn't know what BHP stood for :) :) :), so both your efforts of sitting in the car waiting to be washed away and getting zapped by lightning was worth the trip, thankyou :) :) :), Bucket list for us, cheers for that. Now that your heading home we are watching closer to see the lower part of Oz that has always interested us, Please show as much as the coast line as you can, time permitting, :) :) :) Cheers Andy.

Fantastic episode guys. 🙏 that storm would have been terrifying particularly the flash flooding. Broken Hill has a fascinating history and although did go there a couple of years ago, we felt it wasn’t very RV friendly so didn’t stay long at all. Camped at Broken Hill resort which was awesome. That little oven is a beauty. Good on you Sorcha 🙏😍

Thanks for showing us the Solar Panels with the drone. It was amazing. We have been there twice and have only been able to see a couple of things due to everything being closed for summer. We will go back and see more

No idea to be honest! 😂 no more than 15 mins but we were checking it every 5 seconds! 😂 We’ll see!! It’s got so much potential this little oven and we’ve seen they now do a larger model! 🤤

Hi, How did you find the locals? I have heard a lot about how friendly and welcoming they are. But as I have researched and still Am i have yet to find any person willing to help or even say anything. Tried messages here on youtube videos,review sites Real Estate agents but not even one commend what its like leaving there full time. I guess it might be a great place to visit but not to live in. Shame as you also hear a lot of people leaving there as proof are so many houses for sale. For someone that fell in Love with the town it's very discouraging. Great video and lots went in it. Keep doing what you are doing and enjoy life for what it is.

Cheers! We didn’t really have much to do with any of the locals as it was a very rushed stop over, so can’t really comment on that. It was a nice town just really overshadowed by the mining industry.

@@JS_Adventure we stopped at the van park there for an overnighter and to catch up with friends travelling back from Qld. We left our RTT open(it was hot hot), they left they're camper trailers open and we all went to a pub for dinner and drinks. Perfectly clear skies when we left the park. Lightning, thunder and gushing water when we were leaving the pub. Not one of our setups were dry when we got back. Made for an uncomfortable night's sleep. Oh well, we were alive. 🤷‍♂️
