I participated in the cultural exchange program JENESYS 2022 and had the opportunity to visit Japan. Unfortunately, we arrived before the Sakura bloom, so I missed experiencing that beautiful spectacle. Nonetheless, I had a wonderful time exploring Tokyo, Nagoya and immersing myself in its unique culture of Japan. I really want to come here again.

Thanks for mentioning it. Yeah that's super convenient. When you say 'only some cities' Do you mean that it's available only in major cities like Tokyo and Osaka? I also don't know about other cities.

Yes, if you travel for example from Tokyo to a minor city like Okayama, they don't give you a city wide JR pass for Okayama, only the city wide pass for Tokyo.

Oh wait, I thought we can use the ticket only to get to the Shinkansen station from other JR stations. If it’s a city wide pass, it’s super convenient.

@@japanviaharis Your shinkanzen ticket is equivalent to 3 tickets one to get from your house to the shinkanzen station, the other is the travel between cities and the last one is to get from the shinkanzen station to wherever you want to go on that city. That is super convenient, since trains are super punctual in Japan and you don't have to go through security, which means that even if the shinkanzen takes 1 hour more than the plane it might actually be faster overall because of the time lost on the airport. Also airports are usually outside of the city center, but Bullet train stops are on the exact center of the cities, so the even 2 hours longer travel might still be faster in some situations.

@@isaisotarriva8162 that’s totally right. Considering the options to travel in the cities on the way and split your journey on Shinkansen with simple ticket. It better value for money and time.
