Let me tell you, first day of owning the maxxv2 not even 10minutes after fully charge battery, I had this happen first day.. the fixed it at the store no problem. 3 days out of the 30 day warranty, it happen again! Very upset with the company because they know the problem but still not warranty my issue. Twice in 35 days! TRAXXAS YOU MUST DO BETTER!
MY ESC on my Maxx just went today - the 4 red lights of death !!! I am about to do just what you did!! I think there is an inherent problem with those ESC's
So kind of the same thing happened to me, but my lights aren’t flashing red. Just green stays on so maybe it’s the motor? But, that could even be wrong because I hooked up my Maxx motor my my Hoss and the motor still turns over. Called Traxxas before I tried hooking the Maxx motor up to the Hoss. It’s a real pain because I was just running on a soccer field doing no jumps when the motor just stopped. Like you I have steering. Traxxas wants me to send them the motor for a possible swap, but before I do that I want to let them know the motor does turn over when hooked up to the Hoss. They share the same exact motor. Thanks for you video (two years late I know), but I just encountered this problem. Loved the Maxx until then….lol
My Maxx is a little over a year old. I think a lot of the Traxxas products produced during Covid have quality control issues. I had a problem with my XMAXX’s servo and my Tmaxx’s clutch pads. Plus one of my Hoss’s tires was not glued at all. No problems with the two 6s Kraton EXB’s. So far at least….lol
Lol. Same here. I bought my first RC -E-Revo 2.0 for Christmas. On Monday I sent back the ESC for warranty. I will never buy traxxas because they have faulty electronics.
Just bought a maxx and after a couple runs the esc went out. $140 to replace it.. bullshit you don’t even get to enjoy these trucks because of bullshit like this
I just had this happen today for the second time! First time it happened, I sent it in and it did fall under warranty even though I was a few weeks outside the warranty time. They must have some specific defect problem going on. Traxxas customer service is the best for sure. I hope this one gets replaced as well.
Got my MAXX yesterday and first run something is wrong. The Truck wont throttle up. Short its the ESC bad and it just sucks. Luckily Its New so I can take it out but what a Pain for something New. I am thinking of just returning the whole truck. I mean before I can run it I have to work on it. Cmon Traxxas you know this is an issue. Fix It. Hopefully you got it fixed for free.
Just drove mine through the house to go outside and I sat it down on the sidewalk, went to take off and boom red lights of DOOOOOOM. Not even 2 months old, pretty disappointed in traxxas on this particular esc! Believe I'm gonna go the Castle esc route.
I had the lights of doom yesterday. How lame, i was so happy with my Maxx. It is 8 weeks old... Anyone got a good replacement esc tip for me? Which make and type works good with the Traxxas 2400kv motor? Luckily i have a bunch of other rc's :)
HOBBYWING MAX6... then your good for whatever, plus when you wanna go bigger ie x-maxx or kraton or whatever, your set to replace that companies PoS electronics
Mine went out a week ago and I replaced it with mamba max 8s. Awsome upgrade but no factory lights hook up on the mamba esc. Looking to go 90mph at some point. So far just 49mph with room need to max it out on 5s on powerhobby raptor banded tires.
I got mine 2 weeks ago.right out the box I had small problems like when I hit the throttle it had a pause.called traxxas they told me to do the same thing pull esc and motor ship it to them and they will replace both for free I asked turn around time 2 weeks.I went to my hobby store and put a hobby wing in.the trucks is way better and faster on right now stock gearing.now I can put 46/22.save your problems and just put a hobby wing in there.
I got mine yesterday and i only used it for 3 minutes no crashes and no jumps and my esc just stopped no lights unless i hold the button down. So disappointing for strait out of the box
Bro did this with my maxx . I bought it used i contacted traxxas and they warrantied my esc and motor all for no charge i was suprised previous owner had it for more then a year
Bro the same thing happened to me on my 1st pack and clogged then bam the esc flashed red lights. Called Traxxas and i was in my 30 days , cus they didn’t have esc in stock, i had to send it in and then 3 weeks later then sent me a brand new one in box. I wish Traxxas customer service was like RedCat racing. Or Arrma.💯💯
This happened to me this evening. Plugged a fresh charged battery in it and no throttle, all lights blinking red. I was running it in the rain over the weekend and doing doughnuts. Maybe that killed it. 🤷♂️
Yeah Traxxas has some major quality issues, mine did the same after about three days of use. Within "warranty" so they will replace it but they make you pay for shipping- how lame is that?!?! Anyways I'll be switching to something else, my recommendation is stay away from Traxxas.
I was getting up to top speed to hit a jump, just locked in full throttle, and boom, tires locked up. Not even 5 minutes before hand I was like "man, this thing is bulletproof, nothing broke, even with the punishment it takes" and look what happened 🙁
That 30 day warranty is an absolute joke. It’s not like a car we drive everyday. You could have a brand new vehicle that you only lightly drive a couple of times over 30 days and now it’s on us? That is a crock of you know what. The minimum should be 6 months, especially when it’s definitely a quality control issue coming from the factory.
Thanks for the video man. It seems it's a very common occurrence for ESCs to go out just after 6-8 weeks! I'm 6 weeks since I got my MAXX and today this happened. Very disappointing. Can I ask, it's one year since you posted your video, I presume you got a new ESC from Traxxas, my question is, is that ESC still going or did it also die on you?
My Maxx..brought just before Christmas...4 red lights of doom 28 days in, after several runs in cold PA weather...30 day warranty expired while it was in the mail back to traxxas....I am a little worried about the next ESC. Traxxas website expects shipment of this vxl-4s mid March....MARCH....how many people are having problems? That many that they are out of stock? Concerned. Mailing back the esc via usps priority mail 2 day cost $8.50 for anyone curious. Downtime...priceless.
I bought 3 Maxx’s Traxxas has replaced ALL 3 of them no questions. They all went out for no reason. Brand new Failures 🤷♂️don’t pay them!!! They know it is faulty
Don't bother with their esc. sell it and buy a hobby wing or something similar. Them traxxas esc's are poor quality in my experience and have been for a long time.
@@BazookaJoe777 I would go for a max 8 in a traxxas maxx. It would also make it 6s capable not that you would need it but it's nice to know you can get more power out and a max5 or 6 in the traxxas x maxx
@@BazookaJoe777 your welcome bro. I think traxxas needs to revise their esc's. For the type of cars they make they really aren't up for the job but hey at least now you won't have to worry with a max8 in there 👍🏽
Got mine used a month ago & the first day I got it had to replace ESC 🤣 I have had zero problems after that I been smashing & bashing but, thanks for that info tho! I will be getting one 👊
It’s traxxas they are absolute junk especially their electronics they should have kept the contract with castle creations didn’t have no problems with them then
